RAMSEY, Charles N., 81, died March 23, 1995. Survived by wife, Virginia; son, Charles N. III and his wife, Susan; grandchildren, Jennifer and Charles N. IV; sisters, Virginia and Marjorie, of CA. DISTLER, Della C., 81, died March 22, 1995 at Tucson Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Tucson in 1913, Della graduated from the University of Arizona and taught school in Morenci and Miami before her marriage. She is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Bruce Distler, Emily (Tom) Kraus of CO, Marilyn (Paul) Bugg of VA; granddaughters, Laura and Katherine Bugg. Also survived by sisters, Helen Galloway and Marjorie Cole, both of Tucson, and sister-in-law, Peggy Cole of Ajo. Services will at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL. REX-PETERSEN, Betty, 75, a resident of Green Valley for 23 years, March 23, 1995. She is survived by her many friends who already miss her spirit, pragmatism, ready humor, “can-do’ attitude, enjoyment of music and travel, and love of life. She retired from the US Foreign Service after having served in Copenhagen, Bonn, Nuevo Laredo, Buenos Aires and San Salvador. She was a member of the Foreign Service Retirees of Southern Arizona, and Diplomatic and Consular Officers Retired (DACOR), Washington, D.C. At her request, no services are planned. Memorial funds in her name have been established with the Green Valley Concert Association (where she has been active for many years); the School of Music of the University of Arizona (she was on the Board); and the Tucson Symphony (she served on three committees related to development). Contributions can also be made to St. Francis-in-the-Valley, the Heart Foundation, or the Cancer Society.

FRUCHTHENDLER, Jean Abend, born July 20, 1914, passed away March 22, 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob, her parents, Nathan and Rose Abend, and her brother George Abend. She is survived by her sons, Saul and Fred of Tucson; her sisters, Evelyn Jacobson of Tucson and Fran Cloth of NY; her niece, Joy (Marty) Mincer of Tucson; nephew, Barry Jacobson of Benicia, CA; niece, Sue (Sheldon) Molliver of NY; nephew, Howard Cloth of Boston; and sister-in-law, Anna Abend of Santa Cruz, CA; and many loving friends. Jean came to Tucson in 1942 to visit her parents and stayed. In 1945 she married Jacob C. Fruchthendler and together they raised two sons and operated Jacob C. Fruchthendler Insurance. She was active in the Hadassah, Congregation Anshei Israel Sisterhood and Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging Women’s Auxiliary. Services Friday 10:00 a.m. at Congregation Anshei Israel with Rabbi Arthur R. Oleisky officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Congregation Anshei Israel section. The family asks that contributions may be made in her name to the Jacob C. Fruchthendler Jewish Hospice at Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging at 2221 N. Rosemont, Tucson 85712.
GRIFFIN, Victor Lynn, 24, of Tucson, AZ died suddenly at his home on March 20, 1995. He is survived by his father, Ronald Clinton Griffin; mother, Elberta Keaton Hanson; maternal grandmother, Viola Keaton; aunt, Victoria Keaton; brothers, Mark Griffin, Ronald Griffin and Victor Hendershott; sister, Debra Hand; godmother, Ann Grisel; and loving partner, Al King. Victor was born in Binghamton, NY on September 15, 1970. He was employed by Speedway Outlet and was an accomplished artist, poet and writer.
