MANN, Clifford E. Jr. SSgt, USAF ret., 62 of Tucson, died Wednesday, March 22, 1995. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Darcie L. Ornstein, Ian A. Mann, Donna R. Epstien, Denise L. Morey; step-children, William R. Kennedy, Deborah L. Furfaro, Sharon L. Kennedy; father, Clifford E. Mann, Sr.; brother, Ronald K. Mann, Sr., both of Peoria, IL; and 12 grandchildren. Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27, 1995 at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Chapel #1. Private Interment will be at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Friends may call at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Memorial Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., P.O. RAMSEY, Charles N., 81, died March 23, 1995. Survived by wife, Virginia; son, Charles N. III and his wife, Susan; grandchildren, Jennifer and Charles N. IV; sisters, Virginia and Marjorie, of CA. There will be a private family graveside service. Remembrances may be made to Carondelet Hospice, 1802 W. St. Mary’s Rd. There caring support upheld his quality of life and gave strength and guidance to us all.

SZYMANSKI, Edwin A. Sr., 71, died March 23, 1995. Beloved husband of, Helen Szymanski of Tucson; devoted father of, Edwin A. Szymanski Jr. of Mesa and Michaeline Sportsman of UT; charised grandfather of, Nathan, Daniel, Denac and Ashly; dear brother of, Alfred Szymanski of FL. Mr. Szymanski retired from the Army and the Air Force after 20 years of service and 25 years retired postal worker. Memorial Mass 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

VEILLETTE, Michael Leonard, 36, resident of Tucson, died March 23, 1995. Survived by wife, Marie K. Veillette of Tucson; father and stepmother, Lucian and Noella Veillette of Hartford, CT; children, Jason Veillette and Kristy Kowalsky, both of Tucson; brothers, Bob (Darlene) Veillette of Tucson, Barry (Mary) Veillette of Hebron, CT; sister, Joyce Sylvester of Orlando, FL; 10 nieces and nephews; and one great nephew. Michael was a loving husband, father, brother, brother-in-law and was a computer whiz. Graveside Services Sunday 11:00 a.m. Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. BERGHUIS, Sharon Louise, 53, died March 21, 1995. Wife of, Michael B. Berghuis; mother of, Todd Berghuis; daughter of, Elnamae Sullivan; sister and sister-in-law of, Edward and Heddy Sullivan; aunt of, Karen Claus and Mark Sullivan. COLEMAN, Timothy T., 27, passed away March 22, 1995. Son of, Shirley Coleman of Tucson; brother of, Kathy Coleman of Phoenix. Also survived by many family and friends. DISTLER, Della C., 81, died March 22, 1995 at Tucson Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Tucson in 1913, Della graduated from the University of Arizona and taught school in Morenci and Miami before her marriage. She is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Bruce Distler, Emily (Tom) Kraus of CO, Marilyn (Paul) Bugg of VA; granddaughters, Laura and Katherine Bugg. Also survived by sisters, Helen Galloway and Marjorie Cole, both of Tucson, and sister-in-law, Peggy Cole of Ajo. Services will at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25th at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. The family suggest donations to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.

GREY, Madelyn, 75, of Tucson, died March 22, 1995. Survived by son, Edwin (Heddy) Grey of CA; grandchildren, Damani and Ayanna Grey of CA; great-grandson, Najee; and niece, Jaye Williams of NY. REX-PETERSEN, Betty, 75, a resident of Green Valley for 23 years, March 23, 1995. She is survived by her many friends who already miss her spirit, pragmatism, ready humor, “can-do’ attitude, enjoyment of music and travel, and love of life. She retired from the US Foreign Service after having served in Copenhagen, Bonn, Nuevo Laredo, Buenos Aires and San Salvador. She was a member of the Foreign Service Retirees of Southern Arizona, and Diplomatic and Consular Officers Retired (DACOR), Washington, D.C. At her request, no services are planned. Memorial funds in her name have been established with the Green Valley Concert Association (where she has been active for many years); the School of Music of the University of Arizona (she was on the Board); and the Tucson Symphony (she served on three committees related to development). Contributions can also be made to St. Francis-in-the-Valley, the Heart Foundation, or the Cancer Society.

SCHIPPERS, Eva, 77 years old, died Wednesday, March 22, 1995 in Tucson. Survived by children, Kenneth (Ethel), Jeff (Carol), Patricia, Karolyn (Jon) Goodman; brothers, Lucas and Pete; sisters, Elizabeth, Jenny, Gertrude, Junella; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren. Memorial Services for Mrs. Schippers will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 1995 at the Tucson Estates Country Club, Tucson. VEGA, Dolores S., 77, passed away March 23, 1995. Survived by seven daughters; five sons; 52 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; mother, Gertrudis vda de Salcido; brothers, Francisco Salcido, Ladislado Salcido, Roberto Salcido; sisters, Ana Ofelia Leon, Feliciana Salcido. Visitation March 24, at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral March 25, 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

WHEELER, Edwin K., 86, died Tuesday, March 21, 1995. Survived by son, Thomas Wheeler of Tucson; and sister, Dorothy Blatchford of Detroit, MI. Mr. Wheeler was retired from the Detroit News, moving to Tucson in 1974. Funeral Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 1995 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. ARNDT, Mabel A., 80, of Lakeside/Pinetop, AZ, born June 13, 1914, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 1995. Survived by sons, Michael A. (Maureen) Becker of Carson City, NV, John E. (Barbara) Arndt of Delaware, OH, Lester E. (Patricia) Arndt, Jr. of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren, Heather Becker, James, Jeffrey, Jason and Holly of OH and Danette and Brian of Tucson. Preceded in death by husband, Lester Sr. Mrs. Arndt was a former Tucson resident and was active in St. Cyrils Catholic Church and St. Mary’s of the Angels in Lakeside. Visitation and Rosary Friday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s of the Angels in Lakeside, AZ with Funeral Service Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at the Church. Arrangements by Owens Funeral Home in Show Low, AZ.

FRUCHTHENDLER, Jean Abend, born July 20, 1914, passed away March 22, 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob, her parents, Nathan and Rose Abend, and her brother George Abend. She is survived by her sons, Saul and Fred of Tucson; her sisters, Evelyn Jacobson of Tucson and Fran Cloth of NY; her niece, Joy (Marty) Mincer of Tucson; nephew, Barry Jacobson of Benicia, CA; niece, Sue (Sheldon) Molliver of NY; nephew, Howard Cloth of Boston; and sister-in-law, Anna Abend of Santa Cruz, CA; and many loving friends. Jean came to Tucson in 1942 to visit her parents and stayed. In 1945 she married Jacob C. Fruchthendler and together they raised two sons and operated Jacob C. Fruchthendler Insurance. She was active in the Hadassah, Congregation Anshei Israel Sisterhood and Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging Women’s Auxiliary. Services Friday 10:00 a.m. at Congregation Anshei Israel with Rabbi Arthur R. Oleisky officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Congregation Anshei Israel section. The family asks that contributions may be made in her name to the Jacob C. Fruchthendler Jewish Hospice at Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging at 2221 N. Rosemont, Tucson 85712.

GRIFFIN, Victor Lynn, 24, of Tucson, AZ died suddenly at his home on March 20, 1995. He is survived by his father, Ronald Clinton Griffin; mother, Elberta Keaton Hanson; maternal grandmother, Viola Keaton; aunt, Victoria Keaton; brothers, Mark Griffin, Ronald Griffin and Victor Hendershott; sister, Debra Hand; godmother, Ann Grisel; and loving partner, Al King. Victor was born in Binghamton, NY on September 15, 1970. He was employed by Speedway Outlet and was an accomplished artist, poet and writer. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Anglo-Catholic Church, 5th and Wilmot, on Thursday, March 23rd at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Casa de los Ninos.
