HUFFMAN, Keith D., 31, of Tucson, passed away April 20, 1995. Survived by partner, Rick Crause; his mother, Karla Lang; his father and stepmother, Les and Linda Huffman; his sisters, Shere (Brad) Van Dyke, Stefanie (Steve Cartron) Wickstrom; brothers, Gerald Anderson and Matt Wickstrom; three nephews, Ian, Kyle and Aaron; his one niece, Nikki; and numerous family and friends. LALLI, Isabelle V., passed away Wednesday, April 19, 1995. She was a resident of Tucson for 22 years. “Belle’ is survived by her son, David and his wife, Susan. She was born in New York, and married her late husband, Benjamin in 1941. Following his death in 1982, Isabelle kept active by doing volunteer work at Sun Sound Reading Services in Tucson. Family requests remembrances be donated to Sun Sound in her name.
MAYER, Mildred “Jean’, 68, passed away April 23, 1995. Survived by her husband of 45 years, Ted Mayer; son, Frank (Esther) Mayer; daughter, Pamela Mayer, all of Tucson; sisters, Margaret Palmer, FL., Mary Harrison, AL., Martha (Charles) Walters, AL.; brother, Robert (Mary) Harrison, FL.; and many other relatives and friends. She was a kind, generous soul who will never be forgotten by those who loved her. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 1995 in the chapel at Casas Adobes Baptist Church, 2131 W. Ina Rd. McCRONE, Roger Marvin, Sr., 63, born November 14, 1931 in Geneva, PA. Joined his father, James T. McCrone and his mother, Audrey Speer in eternal rest on April 22, 1995. Survived by his wife, Marquita of 28 years; stepmother, Mary McCrone. He is the father of, Margo Hawtree of Denver, CO., Roger McCrone Jr. (Melanie) of Tucson, Daniel Netty (Penny) of Sun City, AZ., Becky Money (Jimmy) of OH, Lynn Spiert (Michael) of OH., Scott McCrone of MD; Flori McCrone of Tempe; grandfather of 12 grandchildren, Corrinne, Jaimie, Ruth, Micki, Michelle, Heather, Sierra, Joshua, Andrea, Jacob, Lila and Kayla; sister, Linda of FL; and sister, Carol of WA. Mr. McCrone was in the U.S. Air Force, served with U-2's all through his career. Retired as a Tech./Sgt. After retirement from the Air Force he transported the physically and mentally disabled for ten years. He was a member of VFW Post 10254. ROBERSON, Floyd Otto, 92, born August 25, 1902, in IA., died April 22, 1995. Retired from Kitt Peak Observatory at age 70. Survived by wife, Alberta; a son, a beloved niece, three grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Graduated from Tucson High School in 1952. He was a member of B.P.O.E. and Eagles Lodge and Trinity Presbyterian Church. Family suggests that remembrances be made to the Forum Class of Trinity Presbyterian Church. YOUNGREN, Warren G., died April 23, 1995 in Tucson, AZ. Survived by wife of 54 years, Margaret Tubbs Youngren; son, Garr (Grace) Youngren, Westmont, IL; daughter, Cara (John M.) Hardinger, Wilmington, DE; daughter, Lynn (George J.) Feulner, Tucson, AZ; and grandchildren, Warren and Ryan Youngren, Sara and Cory Feulner. Born in Chicago, IL July 7, 1912 to William W. Youngren and Mildred Blutheart Youngren, Warren graduated from the University of Illinois in 1934. He served in the Pacific aboard the USS Nassau and USS Randolph, and retired in 1974 from Sears Roebuck and Co, General Merchandising Group, Chicago Home Office. A resident of Tucson for past 19 years, Mr. Youngren requested no funeral service. A reception will be held 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 1995 at the Forum of Tucson, 2500 East Grant Road. DRESSLAR, Robert, L. Born January 23, 1925 in Smith Valley, IN. Husband of Jerry; father of Kathy (Richard) Johnson, Neena (Bud) Frasure, Cindy (Don) Carbiener, all of Tucson, and Tim (Colleen) Dresslar of Sacramento, CA, and Penny (Pat). Grandfather of eight grandchildren, Jason, Paul, Wendy, Jasmine, Becky, Lea Anne, Brianna and Jessica; great grand-daughter Erieka; brother of Jim of Indiana. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Dresslar was in Air Force Army Air Corps for 27 years, retired a Lieutenant Colonel. He had his own real estate broker business, Bob Dresslar Realty. Mr. Dresslar also was a volunteer ten years for Sheriff Auxiliary volunteers. He was commander of American Legion Post 109 in Tucson. Mr. Dresslar was a Mason in Greenwood, IN and charter member of Sabbar Shrine Temple and Clown unit of Tucson. Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 1995 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, with Reverend Lew Runion officiating. Burial at Desert Vista with full military honors by D.M.A.F.B. Mills of Tucson. Predeceased by husband, Robert M. Sligh on January 19, 1980; sister, Margaret Mittlestaedt on January 5, 1991; brother, Robert Smith on March 17, 1969. Mrs. Sligh had a great interest in animals and birds and spent much time feeding them. A very generous person, she contributed to many charities. URDAHL, Alvin M., 89, passed away April 22, 1995. BORN, Ralph M., 74, passed into eternal life April 20, 1995 at home. Born September 8, 1920 to Prescott pioneers Charles and Margaret Johnston Born, he resided in Tucson for the past 40 years. A graduate of Prescott High School and Columbia College in New York City, Mr. Born was employed as a chemical engineer with G.E. during World War II and returned to Arizona in 1953, where he traveled for Winthrop Pharmaceuticals for several years before joining E. F. Hutton in 1966. Mr. Born was forced to retire as a stock broker in 1989 due to Parkinsons Disease. He was a long-time member of Grace Episcopal Church and eventually a founding member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, past president of Comstock Children’s Foundation, a lifetime member of the BPOE and did volunteer work for the YMCA and the University of Arizona and served on several committees for the Tucson Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are his wife, Katherine (Woolwine); daughters, Kristine (Randolph) Holt of OH, Beverly (Glenn) Korthaus of NJ; and son, Douglas of Tucson; grandchildren, Bradley Korthaus, Greg Beers, Christopher Korthaus, Julie Beers and Jason Born; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Korthaus and Shaun Norris; also surviving are two brothers, Frederick Shirley of CA and James of Prescott. He is predeceased by sisters, Helen Royer of Phoenix and Mary Noyes; and brothers, Johnston, Charles Dewey, Robert and Dr. Ernest, all of Prescott. Surviving nieces are Shirley Banford of Lake Havasu City, Diane Heller Gay of Florida, Margery West of Phoenix, Barbara Royer Rostand of California, Marge Greth and Susan Burr of Tucson and Peggy Brown of Yuma; nephews, Charles Royer of Phoenix, Dr. Ernest Born, Jr. of Phoenix, Charles Heller of Illinois, Gene and John Born of Prescott. The family requests remembrances be made to the Comstock Children’s Foundation, the Lutheran Social Ministry of the Southwest (respite services), or the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association. Memorial Services will be held at the Episcopal Church of St. Matthew, 9071 Old Spanish Trail, Monday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. An informal reception will follow the service.
