Survived by sons, Armando Gastelum and Rene (Elisa) Gastelum; daughters, Maria Amanda (Frank) Matus, Carmen (Rudy) Rangel and Isabel Gastelum; sisters, Rosa Gonzales, Carmen Alday, Alicia Mendez and Margarita Olivas; brother-in-law, Roberto Mendez; also survived by grandchildren, Kathy, Arlene, Diana, Elaine, Evelyn, Lupita, David, Daniel Matus and Lorraine Rico, Alicia Cool, Angelica Rangel, Monica Procci, Charles, Jessica, Andrew, Erica Gastelum, Noel, Rene, Joel Gastelum, Mario Gastelum; also 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 1995 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church. Interment at South Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

MCCRACKEN, Cynthia Louise (Hillman), 36, of Allen, Texas, died suddenly on January 12, 1995. Cindy, who was an accountant for the City of Plano, Texas, graduated from the University of Arizona and Sabino High School in Tucson. She was greatly loved and will be missed by her many friends and family. She was an avid hiker, biker, camper and reader who embraced life to the fullest. She is survived by her husband, Michael McCracken; her parents, Dr. Bill and Betty Hillman of Tucson; sisters, Debra Demijohn of Alice Springs, Australia and Susan de Alban of Quito, Equador and Chicago, IL; grandmother, Mrs. Richard Bartke of Santa Rosa, CA; nieces, Laurissa and Kimberley Demijohn of Alice Springs, Australia; and five uncles of California and Maine. Memorial Services will be held at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 9252 E. 22nd St., at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 1995 with the Rev. Fred Wood officiating. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

SMITH, Marilyn Ruth, 59 years old, passed away Friday, January 13, 1995. Survived by husband, Hollis V. Smith; sister, Jean Baughman; brother, Larry Stapley; sons, Gene Murphy – deceased, Larry Smith; daughters, Laurie Murphy, Geri Flitton, Rebecca Murphy O’Kelley, Joy Smith Ellsworth; and 15 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17 at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Fairmount Chapel, 6150 E. Fairmount, with burial in the LDS Cemetery.

TAYLOR, Maryann and Foy V., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 12, 1995. Maryann and Foy are survived by their son, Patrick Taylor; and daughter, Ann Taylor; Maryann’s mother, Mary S. Quattrocchi of Lincoln, NE; father of Foy, Foy Sr. of Phoenix, AZ; sister of Foy, Patricia Thorp; brothers of Foy, Colby, Randall and Duane. Maryann and Foy were both members of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Foy was a veteran of the Korean War in which he served his country. Maryann was a partner in Maryjane Ceramics. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 1995 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Road, with burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

FUNK, Mary R. “Peggy’, widow of Ward L. Funk, died Sunday, January 8, 1995 at the age of 88. Peggy pledged the Pi Beta Phi sorority in 1926 at the University of Arizona from which she graduated in 1928. After teaching high school in Tucson she married Ward in 1937 and moved to Boston, MA. After Ward’s death in 1986, she moved back to Tucson. Peggy is survived by her son William, his wife Renate; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Jonas, and Rebecca Funk, who live in Portland, OR.

HANNA, Donald Eugene, 68, of Tucson passed away January 8, 1995. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie R. Hanna; and his daughter, Rebecca R. Hanna-Armstrong. Survived by daughter, Mary Gordon Hanna of Tucson; sisters, Mary Gordon Yull, and Betty L. Cook, both of Geneseo, NY, and Alice Ann Sattora of Conesus Lake, NY; as well as an extended loving family from NY to CA. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:45 a.m., Sunday, January 15, 1995 following the worship service of Desert Springs Evangelical Presbyterian Church at Adair Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern in Tucson. His family wishes to thank Mr. and Mrs. Obregon of Casa Jorge Elderly/ Adult Care Homes for their care and compassion as well as Mr. Edgar of D.S.E.P. Church for his friendship and support.

LEON, David F. Leon, 76, of Tucson, passed away January 10, 1995. Preceded in death by wife, Catalina Leon married for 57 years; and brothers, Daniel and Ralph. Survived by daughters, Stella Encinas, Cecilia (Fernando) Burruel, Catalina (Albert) Mendoza and Leonor (Ernie) Menchaca; sons, David (Susan), Jesus, Leo (Norma), and Rudy (Lydia) Leon; sisters, Ruby (Mario) Castro and Consuelo (Vivian) Garza; brothers, Jesus (Clara) Leon and Frank (Evelyn) Castel-de-Oro; also survived by 22 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. Retiree over 35 years for the City of Tucson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 1995 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, 11:00 a.m. at Emery Park Baptist Church, 6066 South Nogales Hwy. Interment will follow at Leon’s Cemetery, Vail. ORNSTEIN-GILLIAM, Sandra, 44, formerly of Tucson, died January 10, 1995 in Bellvue, WA. Survived by husband, Gil of Bellvue, WA; parents, Louis and Sylvia Ornstein; brother, Ian and wife Terry; sister, Shelly Little and husband David; nephews, Tyler Ornstein, Jeffrey Little; niece, Rosechanaw Little, all of Tucson. Sandra was a graduate of Rincon High School and a member of the Rainbow Girls. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Shaarie Shalom Cemetery, 2155 S. Avenida Las Reyes (East on 22nd Street third street past Houghton Rd. turn right approximately 1/2 mile, inside All Faith’s Memorial Park), Rabbi Albert T. Bilgrey officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Arizona Cancer Center.

PRAGER, Daniel R., 46, of Tucson, died January 13, 1995. Father of Jennifer R. Prager of Tucson; son of Helen M. Prager of Sierra Vista, AZ; brother of Joseph and Timothy Prager, both of Tucson, Ronald Croce and Clement Williams of VA. Funeral Services will be held at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, Tuesday, January 17, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st Ave (888-1111) Monday, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

SHACKELFORD, David Jay, 37, of Tucson, died January 11, 1995. Survivors include his mother, Martha; sister, Hope Ann (Arttee) Johnson; and niece, La Shonda Johnson, all of San Diego; grandmothers, Irma Wolf and Bessie Shackelford of Tucson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his father, Jay in March, 1994. He belonged to the biking club, liked hiking, was an excellent cook and had a great love for computers. David will be greatly missed by his family. Memorial Services will be at Mountain View Baptist Church, 3500 W. Overton, at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 1995 with Pastor Joe Sanders officiating. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made to Teen Challenge, 2637 N. Oracle Road, Tucson, AZ 85705 in David’s name. Arrangements entrusted to ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. CASE, Florence (Nelson), in Boston, formerly of Tucson, AZ, January 12, 1995 after a long illness. Beloved wife of W. Evans Case now of Boston; loving mother of Dr. Susan Case PHD of Melrose, MA., Judith Leach of Pittsfield, MA and Marilyn Sutcliffe of TN; dear sister of the late John V. Nelson of NY; cherished grandchildren of seven and five great-grandchildren. Funeral private. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. CHASE, Jon S., 40, of Tucson, died January 10, 1995. Born February 1, 1954 in Toledo, OH. He was a painter with the county of Pima. He was also a past president of AFSCME. Survived by daughters, Heather Chase, Stacie Chase, Kimberly Chase, all of Tucson; brother, Wade Chase of San Diego; father, Truman Chase of San Diego; fiance, Bonnie Hudsick of Tucson. Services held Monday, 2:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY. Interment to follow Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. DALLMAN, Antonia Marquez, 65, died January 11, 1995. Survived by her daughter, Nancy Dallman and son, Alan (Isabel) Dallman of Tucson; and two sons, Jose Valente Villarreal and Francisco Villarreal, both of Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico. Mrs. Dallman was the mother of Jose Jorge Villarreal who died in 1973. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at ARIZONA MORTUARY, (7 East University Blvd) where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be at Santa Cruz Catholic Church (South Sixth Avenue at 22nd Street) at 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Other survivors are his parents, Neil and Mildred Goodman of Thatcher; five brothers, Gerald of Salt Lake City, David of MO., Webb, Nicholas, and Christopher of Thatcher; a sister Helen Bryant of St. David. LYNCH, Warren H. (Bill), 73, 50 year resident of Tucson, AZ., passed away at home January 11, 1995. Warren was born in St. Louis, MO., and grew up in Beverly, MA. After serving in the Army Air Corps in WWII, Pacific Theatre, he received his J.D. from the U of A College of Law and remained in practice until 1994. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis Martin Lynch; children, Sharon (John) Hussong, John (Louise) Lynch, Susan Lynch, and Janet (Tom) Quesnal; grandchildren, John (Gabriela) Hussong, Kristen and Susanna Hussong, John and Jim Lynch, Fynnegan and Kelsy Sloyan, Casey Comacho, Bobby Quesnal and sister Marian Kraeger of CA; also nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
