WHIDDON, Benjamin L., 83, resident of San Manuel died in a Tucson hospital February 2, 1995. Survived by his wife, Maudie and three children, Steve Hughey, Dale (Joy) Hughey and Nona (Steve) Holdcraft and five grandchildren, all of San Manuel; by two nieces, Betty Thornton of Tucson and Virginia Crosby of Phoenix. Another son, Gary Whiddon, is deceased. Funeral Services 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6th at Greenwood Memory Lawn Chapel in Phoenix (719 North 7th Avenue), followed by interment in Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery. Local arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY .

BAGLIONE, Joseph R., 64, of Tucson, died February 3, 1995. Owner of the Cobbler’s Bench. Survived by wife, Jean; sons, Richard, Scott, Perry, Michael (Sophia); grandchildren, Jessica and Danny; sister, Theresa Manno of Ohio. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 545 South 5th Ave., Rev. Robert B. Williams officiating. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

BLAKELY, Phyllis T., 84, died February 4, 1995. Sister of Irene Foley of Iowa. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

CALLISON, Kelly Lynn, 31, passed away February 3, 1995. Survived by husband, Norm Callison; children, Josh, Randy, Norm Jr. and Brandon Callison; parents, Edward and Martha Casey of Virginia; brother, Edward Casey, Jr. of CA and grandparents, Elea and Josephine Stramacchia and Edward C. and Miriam Casey, all of PA. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco, with interment to follow at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery. Friends may call at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.

EDWARDS, Wilmetta M., 84 years old, died Friday, January 27, 1995 at her residence in Burton, MI. She was a Tucson resident from 1935 to 1973. She was a member of the Church of Nazarene. Survived by several cousins. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 1995 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave.

GAVIN, Elfreeda M., 94, of Tucson, died Thursday, February 2, 1995. Preceded in death by her husband, Harry; son, Darrell; and daughter, Patricia. Survived by daughter-in-law, Eva Gavin of Tucson; grandson, Michael Gavin and his wife, Theresa of Escondido, CA; and great-grandchildren, Jason, Erin, Dane, Brittany and Stephanie. Private family services were held. EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. in charge of arrangements.

KUHN, Joy L., 65, died February 3, 1995. Loving wife of Orville L. Kuhn; mother of son, Terry (Donna) Kuhn; daughters, Patricia (Robert) Havens, Diane (Brett) Mitchell, Nancy (Stephen) Hair and Susan (Wayne) Magnussen; mother, Frances Andrews; three brothers and one sister and 13 grandchildren. Viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 1995 at the EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 1995 at Pantano Baptist Church, 225 S. Pantano Rd. In lieu of floral gifts, the family request that donations be made to the Child Evangelism Fellowship, 5956 E. 30th St, Tucson, AZ 85711 in memory of Joy Kuhn.

SISSON, Pauline, 71, of Vail, died Friday, February 3, 1995. Born in Clinton, AR, daughter of Lester and Minnie Merryman. married Neal Sisson on June 27, 1943, who was in the Army Air Corps. Moved to Tucson, AZ in 1958 with husband Neal, and the six children. Enjoyed many years of travel with husband and family. Survived by children, Linda (Jim) Marcus, Melanie Cole, Stephen (Faye) Sisson, Mark (Leeann) Sisson, Kim (Faith) Sisson and Billy (Carolyn) Sisson; grandchildren, Anna Marie, Amber, Sherry, Michael, Heather, Kyle, Jeremy (Lisa), Rachael, Jason, Tawnisha and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Sabrina and Jamie; sisters, Carthal (Tom) Wanko and Jane (Bill) Freeman. Private services were held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL.

WALITSHEK, Vicki Sue, 39, passed away February 3, 1995. Wife of Richard Walitshek; mother of Jesse and Erin; sister of Patrick O’Brien of Albuquerque, NM and Larry O’Brien of Waterloo, IA; also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 1995 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, February 6 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Family suggests donations to Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church School Fund, 1800 S. Kolb Rd.

WALLACE, Harland E., 73, of Tucson, formerly of Poynette, Wisconsin, passed away on February 4, 1995. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; and son, Jerry (Marjorie); two grandchildren, Monica and Matthew, all of Tucson. Memorial Service to be held at Pantano Christian Church, 10355 E. 29th St., Tucson, at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 1995, with Pastors Tim Coop and Lee Giermann officiating. In lieu of flowers, all donations will be directed to Pantano Christian Church Pew Fund.

BRUNENKANT, Walter A., 66, died February 3, 1995. Survived by his wife, Doris Brunenkant; children, Garry (Kay) Brunenkant of Tucson, Kurt (Pam) Brunenkant of CA., and Judy (Jeff) Johnson of CA; brothers, Carl (Mary) Brunenkant of Tucson and Larry (Maxine) Brunenkant of Florence; sister, Freida (Buddy) Westfall of Florence; eight grandchildren also survive. Memorial Service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11, at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, 710 S. Kolb Rd., with Pastor Eldon Weisheit officiating. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

EDLER, Ruth Ann, 85, of Tucson, died February 4, 1995. She was born in IN and has been a Tucson resident for 65 years. She is survived by a niece, Bernice C. Weightman of Ardmore, PA; nephew, Leon W. Piercy of Conyers, GA. Mrs. Edler has been a resident at the Forum of Tucson for the past four years. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 8, at 11:00 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery. There will also be a Memorial Service, Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Forum Health Care Center, 2500 N. Rosemont (Grant and Rosemont Blvd.) Memorials may be made to the Arizona Lung Association. Directed by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 327-6341.

FRAZIER, Joseph E., 73, of Tucson, passed away February 1, 1995. Survived by his beloved German wife, Vally of 47 years; his son, Norman and daughter-in-law Beverly; daughter, Jeanette; and grandsons, Kevin, Brian, Brandt. Joseph is also survived by his brother, Charles; and two sisters, Mae and Bonnie. Joseph received the highest medals for his bravery in the U.S. Air Force which included the Purple Heart and numerous other Medals of Decoration plus recognition for his 14 months of P.O.W. during WWII. Joseph continued to serve the Air Force during the Korean War and retired after 29 years of service. Those who loved him, remember him happiest at golfing, telling jokes and traveling. Dad’s joy filled laughter echoes for eternally. Memorial Services will be held at Unity of Tucson, 3617 N. Camino Blanco on Saturday, February 11, 1995 at 11:00 a.m.

GONZALEZ, Gonzalo G., Jr., 85 years old, died Sunday, February 5, 1995 in Tucson. Survived by three daughters, Amy Calaham, Laura Combs, both of Tucson, Mary Helen Thompson of Garrett, IN; two sons, Gonzalo Gonzalez III of Peoria, AZ and Cesar ìGonzalez of Tucson; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mass for Mr. Gonzalez will be said at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 1995 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8650 N. Shannon. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 1995 at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway, where Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Interment and Services will be held Friday, February 10, 1995 at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, TX. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 881-0338. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, 4330 N. Campbell, Tucson.

HALL, Mabel J., 84, of Tucson, died February 5, 1995. She is survived by her children, Winton (Faye) Hall of Tucson and Carol (Ann) Foster of Tucson; grandchildren, Larry and David. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8, from 12:00 noon to 1 :00 p.m. with Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd., (1 1/2 blocks N. of Grant). Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Directed by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 327-6341.

HARRIS, Marguerite Frances, 70, formerly of PA and Christchurch, England, died January 25, 1995 at home in Tucson. Frances was the beloved wife of Roy for 47 years and the very special mother of Paul, Christopher and Julie and Grannie to Molly Ann, Trevor, Sean-Paul and Amanda. Frances served as a WREN in the Royal Navy in WWII and as a Business Administrator at the University of Pennsylvania for 20 years. Frances ability to deeply care for those around her inspired such love in those who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4831 E. 22nd St., on Sunday, February 12 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a donation in her memory to Tucson Hospice, Tucson Medical Center, 5301 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85712 or to Hale House for Infants, 152 West 122 Street, NY, NY 10027, a crisis nursery for drug-addicted and AIDS babies.“Farewell to you and the youth I have sent with you. It was but yesterday we met in a dream.’

HOUGHTON, Katherine C., died January 25, 1995 in Tucson, AZ. She was born in Brackenridge, PA October 12, 1912 to Konstantine and Irene Sowanick. She married Dr. Glenn D. Casey of Phoenix, AZ May 31, 1947 and was widowed December 7, 1960. She married Dr. Neal D. Houghton, professor of Political Science, University of Arizona, May 19, 1967 who died February 18, 1985. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from University of Arizona, May 1961. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, University of Arizona Faculty Women’s Club and a past member of the Order of Eastern Star, Laurel Chapter, Phoenix, AZ. She is survived by her sisters, Irene Sowanick, New York City, Ann Walsh, Hubbard, OH and Julia Adams, San Francisco; her brother, Mike Sowie, El Paso, TX; and her step daughter, Virginia Houghton Culhane, Tucson. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers. Private memorial services are pending. Memorials may be sent to the Endowment Committee of the Faculty Woman’s Club.

LOSO, Mary Serena, 96, was taken to be with the Lord Friday, February 3, 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Elmer J. Loso; and two sons, Kenneth W. Loso and Robert T. Loso. She is survived by son, Elmer Loso and wife Jeanne of North Ft. Myers, FL; daughter, Madeline Field and her husband John of Tucson; five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Memorial Service will be held at Farwell Church of Christ, 1922 S. Farwell Ave., Tuesday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or to Farwell Church of Christ.

MATHEWS, Ronald F. (Frank), 33, a native of Tucson, was tragically taken from us on February 2, 1995, due to a heavy equipment accident. Survived by son, Ronnie Mathews; father, Ronald Mathews; mother Jo Anne Schirka; brothers, Louie Schirka and John Mathews; sisters, Ronda (Pat) Schellde and Suzanne (Ben) Petersen. Frank was a member of the Chiliheads of Arizona, a semi-truck driver and a great friend to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but will remain in our hearts forever. Memorial Services will be held on February 9, 1995 at 9:00 a.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).
