ROMERO, Josephine, 49, of Tucson, died February 10, 1995. Services with ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

RUSSELL, Sandra M., 47, died February 11, 1995. She is survived by her husband, Roy J. Russell; son, Dean E. Russell; her parents, Walter and Gloria Chamberlin; brother, Daniel Chamberlin; sister, Debra Holcomb; father and mother-in-law, Harry and Alvis Russell; sister-in-law, Linda Russell; numerous nephews and one niece also survive. Sandy graduated with honors in 1965 from Binghampton High School in Binghampton, NY, and then went to nursing school. She then enlisted in the Air Force and served as a flight nurse, flying in and out of Vietnam. She came to Tucson where she met her husband Roy. Prior to her illness she was a registered nurse at El Dorado Hospital. Memorial Service 4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 18, at Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness, 8311 E. Stella Rd., with John Willwater officiating. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

BAILEY, Jesse Joe, 69 years old, died Thursday, February 9, 1995. He was a resident of Arizona for 38 years. Survivors include wife, Peggy Ann of Tucson; daughter, Shelly (Pat) Ambrose of Tempe; daughter, Melody (John) Knight of Florida; stepson, Eldon Lee Reid of Texas; stepson, Charles Rick Crane of Tucson; stepdaughter, Tammy (Jim) Lammers of Tucson; stepdaughter, Belinda Velthoven of Virginia; sister, Roberta Vannetter of New Mexico; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Bailey was employed in the mining industry. He was associated with Operating Engineer Local 428. He was in the Navy CB’s. Memorial Service will be Friday, February 17, 1995 at 3:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave.

CARLIN, James H., 27, of Tucson, died Sunday, February 12, 1995. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Jean Carlin and Charles H. Russell; grandmother, Hazel Carlin; three uncles, numerous cousins and companion, David Ruder. James worked for Carondelet, St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s for 13 years. He was very thoughtful, caring and supportive of everyone he knew and he will be greatly missed. Memorial Services will be at Metropolitan Community Church, 3269 N. Mountain Ave., at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 1995. Interment will follow at a later date at Pima Cemetery, Pima, AZ. Memorial donations may be made to PACT for Life, P. O. CARPENTER, Ethel S. of Tucson, died February 9, 1995 at age 95. Born September 8, 1899 in Parkton, MD, she graduated from Goucher College and earned M.S. in Botany at University of Pennsylvania, with additional graduate work at Woods Hole, MA and Cornell University. Taught at Wilson College (Chambersburg, PA), Tennessee Teachers’ College, and American University (Wash., D.C.) First came to Tucson in 1925 as a faculty member in botany and bacteriology at the University of Arizona. married Edwin F. Carpenter, professor, and later Head of Astronomy Dept. and Director of Steward Observatory. She is survived by her sister, Emily R. Stiffler, Parkton, MD; daughter, Emily C. Long of Phoenix, AZ; son, Roger E. Carpenter, Tucson; and four grandchildren; Susan Carpenter, State College, PA; Kenneth Carpenter, Kentfield, CA; Mark Long, Yosemite National Park and Brett Long, Phoenix. She was active in the Goucher Alumni Association as well as the Cornell Club, U. of A. Faculty Women’s Club, Entre Nous, and Town and Gown. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18 at the First Congregational United Church, 842 N. 2nd Ave., Tucson. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to: GOUCHER COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP FUND, Development Office, Goucher College, 1021 Dulaney Rd., Towson, MD 21204-2794.

GARDNER, Marcia (Gay), 76, of Tucson, died February 13, 1995. Born June 13, 1918 in Ithaca, NY, came to Arizona at the age of 4 years with her father, Edward Gay. She was a longtime member of Catalina United Methodist Church. Survived by husband, Loveless Gardner, a longtime Tucson resident; daughter, Marsha Blish of Tucson; brother, Edward Gay of Tarzana, CA; grandchildren, Darrin Craft of Tucson, Wendy Jones of Phoenix; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Services, Saturday, 1:00 p.m., Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E. Speedway Blvd. with Rev. Ravin Gaston officiating. Private interment Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association in memory of Marcia Gardner. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY.

HENCEROTH, Stanley William, 79 of Tucson, died Sunday, February 12, 1995. Survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Tucson; children, Judy Henceroth of Seattle, WA, Jean Henceroth of Dallas, TX, Alan (Kay) Henceroth of Dillon, CO, Sarah (Erik) Henceroth-Wallen of Coralville, IA; grandchildren, Justin Henceroth, Whitney Henceroth, both of Dillon, CO; brother, Dr. Dayton (Marjorie) Henceroth of Grove City, OH, Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 1995 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 8051 E. Broadway Blvd., with Rev. Michael Brunk officiating. The family requests memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Community Food Bank, 827 S. Park Avenue, Tucson, 85719. HENDERSON, Lawrence (Larry), passed away February 11, 1995 in Tucson at the age of 45. Preceded in death by his mother Lujane Washington. Survived by loving wife, Alicia Henderson; father, Waller Henderson; and daughter, Desiree Gomez. Larry will be greatly missed by all his relatives and friends. Services will be held at Holy Family Church, 338 University Blvd., Tucson, AZ. Visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 1995. HESS, Michael Ray, son of A. Ray Hess (deceased) and Evelyn Fuller Hess, died Friday, February 10, 1995 in Tucson, AZ. He was born December 10, 1964 in Arvada, CO. He moved with his parents to Eden, UT when he was 12 and received his education in Weber County Schools. He was employed at the Radisson Hotel Health Spa as a representative in Ogden, UT. He moved to Tucson, AZ in 1989 where he worked at various positions in sales marketing. He is survived by his mother of Pleasant View, UT; two sisters, Lynda (DeWaele) Hess of Ogden, UT and Marcia Bushnell of Willard, UT; also his fiancee, Christine Wojak of Tucson, AZ. The funeral, under the direction of Meyers Mortuary, will be conducted by Bishop Brent Christensen of the Eden Ward. Services will be held Saturday, February 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Meyers Mortuary in Ogden, UT. Family will meet with friends prior to the services. Interment in Eden, UT Mountain View Cemetery.

KUTH-LE, Chief Geronimo, 110, of Oracle, died February 11, 1995. Survived by son, Nicholas (Carmella) Kuth-Le of Lakeside, AZ; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren. Believed to have been born December 28, 1884 in Mescalero, NM and is a direct descendent of Chief Geronimo. Memorial Services Friday, 1:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile.

MALONE, Hubert S., 77, of Tucson, passed away February 13, 1995. He is survived by wife, Neva A. Malone of Tucson. Mr. Malone was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8813. A Rosary will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 1995 at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd and Swan. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 1995 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.

MCMULLEN, Bonnie Jean (Harper), 47, of Tucson, went to be with her savior and lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 12, 1995. She is survived by husband, Andrew; daughter, Kristen; son, Matthew; and mother, Betty. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeannette. A Coronation Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 10:30 a.m., at the Community Church of the Foothills, 480 E. Ina Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Samaritan’s Purse, a christian medical missions group, in care of the church.

MURRAY, Gloria E., 70, of Pearce, AZ, died Monday, February 13, 1995 in Tucson. Survived by her husband, Ernest of Pearce; children, JoAnn (Paul) Legendre of Langley AFB, VA, Russell (Ginny) Murray of Tucson, Phyllis (Francis) Hughes of Cambridge, MN; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, and one brother. Memorial Service 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 1995 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. The family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. RAY, Marie Beatrice, 76, of Tucson, died February 12, 1995. Survived by sons, Richard (Jenny) of Tucson and Gary of IL; two grandsons. Graveside Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

SMITH, Catherine A., 80, passed away February 13, 1995. Mother of, Donald E. (Ieva) Young of Seattle and Cheryl (Ken) Pryor of Tucson; grandmother of, Kristine Young and Kathrine Young, both of Seattle and Rebecca Pryor of Tucson. Mrs. Smith was pre-deceased by spouses, Herbert A. Young and Roger W. Smith. Also pre-deceased by children, Alan J. Young and Jane E. Young. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, and friends may call Thursday, February 16, from 1:00 to 4:00. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 17 at Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, AZ. Family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 40 N. THOMAS, Bruce Dean, 40, of Tucson, died February 11, 1995. Survivors include his children, Crystalyn Audra and Kyle Lloyd; parents, Wright (Tex) and Audrey Thomas; sister, Brenda K. (Tom) Harford; nephews, Bryan and Kevin Harford; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Bruce was employed by Southern Pacific since January, 1973 where he was a signal technician. He was local chairman for the Brotherhood of R.R. Signalman, Local #126. He was a generous person and loved his children dearly. He also had great love for music, piano and photography. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 1995. Memorial Services will be at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 1995. Interment will follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. CIRIVELLO, Helen K., 87, of Tucson, died February 12, 1995. Survivors include son, Jim of Tucson; grandchildren, Nancy (Andy) Mullenaux of Tucson, Michael V. (Karen) Cirivello of Coolidge, AZ, Jo Ann (Michael) Goodman of Whittier, CA, Cheryl (Abram) Ruis of Tucson; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cirivello has resided in Tucson since 1937 moving here from Ohio. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for 34 years as office manager. Her husband, Anthony was past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Mrs. Cirivello was a parishoner of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 1995. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1946 E. Lee, at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 1995. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
