CARSWELL, Richard W., 66, died February 27, 1995. Survived by his wife, Lois Carswell of Tucson; step-children, Sandra, Michael, Jerry, Nancy and Allison; brother, Michael Carswell of Tucson. Memorial Service 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2. BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

GALVAN, Luis “Lichi’ Y., a lifetime resident of Tucson, passed away February 25, 1995 at the age of 60. Born March 4, 1934 in Tucson. Survived by wife, Yolanda; sister, Lupe Salaz and Lupe G. (Edward) Dobson; brothers, Frank (Carlotta) Galvan and Oscar Galvan; favorite nephew, David (Sandra) Dobson, also survived by other nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his parents, Cruz and Marianna Galvan; brother, Antonio Galvan. Visitation will be held today from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

HILL, Jeannine M., 62 years old, died Saturday, February 25, 1995 in Tucson. Survived by five sons, Steven Hill of Flagstaff, AZ, Phillip Hill of Ontario, Canada, Peter Hill of Springfield, MO, Michael Hill of Orlando, FL, Kevin Hill of Tucson, AZ; one brother, Leo Carrier of Colonial Heights, VA; mother, Lucille Carrier of Winchendown, MA; six grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter, Cynthia Hill. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements handled by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway, 881-0338.

KORING, Helen E., 87, died February 26, 1995. Survived by her son, Robert H. Koring, Jr., of Tucson; sisters, Lois Painter of IL, and Kathryn Link of IL. Memorial Service 7:00 p.m. March 1, at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with Rev. Howard Higgins officiating.

MALDONADO, Stella Y., 76, of Tucson, passed away February 25, 1995. Survived by daughter, Virginia (Dario) Aguilar; four grandchildren, Rosario Aguilar, Monica Gross, Pilar Mora and Dario M. Aguilar and six great-grandchildren; numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation Wednesday, March 1 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, 602 W. Ajo Way. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

MODEEN, John W., 84, died February 27, 1995. Survived by his wife, Helen Modeen of Tucson; daughter, Mary Ellen (Jay) Fitzpatrick of IA; son, Father Jim Modeen of Tucson; sister, Inez Dougherty of IL; grandchildren, Matthew, Susan, and Sarah Fitzpatrick. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to The Arizona Lung Association, 2819 E. Broadway, Tucson, 85716. Memorial Mass 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at St. Mary’s Hospital Chapel, 1601 W. PROCTOR, Mildred, age 90, passed away February 23, 1995 in a Carlsbad, CA rest home. A native of St. Louis, MO she had lived in Cadillac, MI from 1946 to 1979 and Tucson, AZ from 1979 to 1995 before coming to Carlsbad, CA. Mrs. Proctor is survived by her husband of 67 years, Elwin of Carlsbad. Private Services were held. Encinitas Mortuary, Encinitas, CA Directors (619) 753-1143.

SCANLON, Madelene T., 82, of Tucson, died February 25, 1995. Survived by sisters, Phyllis Helber, Culver, IN, and Virginia Keicher of Omaha, NE; seven nieces and nephews, Susan, Vickie, Janet, Stan, Don, Martha, and Gary; foster children, Frankie, and William Patrick Chalmers. At Mrs. Scanlon’s request there will be no services. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

SMITH, Keighlyn Alis, of Marana. Given to us for a brief moment on February 21, 1995, returned to the loving arms of our Lord, February 26, 1995. Survived by parents, Don L. and Jackie Sanchez Smith; grandparents, Don and Louise Smith, Dan Chandler and Bobbie Chandler; great grandparents, Henry and Roberta Jantz, Barbara Van Dyke, Charles and Ida Smith; aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. ABRIL, Delfina B., 79, passed away February 24, 1995. Preceded in death by husband, Julio Abril. Beloved mother of Delfina (Robert) Schafer, TX, Mary Lou (Jack) Fry, Flagstaff, AZ, Linda (Tony) Castano, Tucson, Robert (Natalia) Arriola, Texas, and Terri (Roberto) Velasco, Mazatlan, Mexico. Beloved sister of Carmen Quevedo, CA, Roberto Bedoya, Tucson, Rosa Boot, Tucson, Betty Fuentes, TX, Arturo Bedoya and Manuel Bedoya, both of Tucson; also surviving are six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Abril was a long time member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church and a 50 year member of the Sacred Heart League. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church,, 801 N. Grande. Interment will be in Holy Hope Cemetery. BRIDWELL, Earl V., 78, passed away Friday, February 24, 1995. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Alice; brother, Paul W. (Nancy) Bridwell; nephew, Wayne Bridwell; niece, Paula Vallone; one great-niece; three great-nephews. He was a past Master of Oakland Lodge #140 F.A.andM. Oaklandon, IN; past Patron of Oakland Chapter 159 O.E.S. Oaklandon, IN; he was in duel membership of Tucson Lodge #4 F.A.andM.; a member of Scottish Rite Consistory in Indianapolis, IN; Murat Shrine, Indianapolis, IN; also a member of Amaranth Court #5 in Tucson; member of American Legion Post #7 in Tucson; VFW in Indiana; and Cactus Chapter #2 D.A.V. Mr. Bridwell retired from the military and was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Masonic Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL . Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

HICKS, F.D. “Jack’, 91, passed away February 25, 1995. Beloved father of Dr. Jim (Rita) Hicks of Phoenix; beloved grandfather of Tracy and Lee Hicks, also of Phoenix. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lou’l in December of 1994. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who touched the life of many people. He will be greatly missed. He was a member of the Masonic Order and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with Chaplain Bill Killian, officiating.

HOAGLAND, Henry Williamson, Jr. 82, of Houston Texas and Kennebank Fort, Maine. Died Friday, February 24, 1995. Mr. Hoagland worked as a Venture Capitalist with American Research and Development in Boston, MA and later with Fidelity Funds also of Boston, MA. He is survived by his wife, Ray Hoagland; one nephew, Dr. Peter W. Hoagland of Jackson, Wyoming; one niece, Anne Hoagland Kelsey of Vero Beach, FL, and their children. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church at 2:p.m. Monday, February 27, 1995 with Pastor Joe Bettridge officiating. Interment will follow at colorado Springs, CO. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave at Magee.

KANOUSE, Alan P., age 39, died February 24, 1995. Survived by his father, Lynn H. Kanouse of Lake Oswego, OR; and brothers, Stephen (Anna) Kanouse of Gallup, NM and Robert Kanouse of Temple, TX. Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1 at St. Francis in the Foothills Church, 4625 E. River Rd., with Rev. David Wilkinson, officiating. Private inurnment will be in TMP East Lawn Cemetery. POLLOCK, Marie, 94, of Tucson, died February 24, 1995. She was an Arizona resident for over 40 years. She is survived by four nieces and one nephew. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 27 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m. at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd., (1 1/2 blocks N. of Grant). SHAVER, Paul E., 60, of Tucson, died February 24, 1995 at home. He was born in Phoenix, AZ and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Survived by companion, Robert Stanton of Tucson; brother, Carrell V. Shaver, Jr. of Phoenix. Private interment Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to PACT or The SHANTI Foundation of Tucson in memory of Paul E. Shaver. TORRES, Jose C., 88, of Tucson, passed away February 25, 1995. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcelina and daughter, Rachel Alcantar. Survived by Esther (Ramon) Duarte, Thamar (Rupert) Pacheco, Jenny (Marco) Cota, Jose Jr. (Dolores) Torres, Guadalupe Torres; son-in-law, David Alcantar; also survived by 24 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 1995 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (North Chapel), 204 S.
