Preceded in death by grandson, William Gath; and daughter, Darlene Briggs. Mr. James was a veteran of WWII and was a retired manager from the Del Monte Company in CA. SORENSEN, Russell LeMoine, 82, of Tucson, passed away March 1, 1995, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by son Robert LeMoine. Survived by wife of 62 years, Roberta Lewis; son, Lewis Thomas (Doris); grandsons, Craig LeMoine, Eric Todd (Michelle); and great granddaughter, Ashlee Renee. Mr. Sorensen was born in Mankato, MN, moving to Tucson from Lexington, KY in 1951. He was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years. MAIDMENT, Mark Lee, 77, died February 28, 1995. Survived by his wife, Vivian Maidment of Tucson; children, Lee Maidment of Troy, OH, Beverly Allison of Greensburg, PA, Mary Beth Smith of Quartz Hill, CA and Barbara White of Brownstown, PA; brothers, George and Mearl Maidment; sisters, Beulah Snyder and Myrtle Allen, all of OH; ten grandchildren also survive. Mr. Maidment served in the US Army Air Corp WWII. He received ribbons for fields of service, American and Asiatic Theaters and several awards, Marksmen, Sharpshooter, and good conduct. BATES, Robert J. “Bob’, 82, died February 26, 1995. Active at East Side Senior Citizens Center, Armory Park dances, and Pima College Spanish classes since moving to Tucson in 1972. Amateur artist, intrepid world traveler, he sought all positive experiences until the very end. Former personnel manager in construction industry, worked on AlCan Highway and at numerous sites in U.S. and Canada. Survived by daughter, Dr. Marcia J. Bates, Van Nuys, CA; nieces, Sen. Sue Dye, Tucson and Joanna Hunter Salina, FL; nephews, James R. Hunter, IN and James R. McNaught, IL; and long-time friends, Hubert and Virginia Stronck of Tucson.
