MARTIN, Henry K., 91, of Tucson, died December . 28, 1994. Born Oct. 24, 1903 in Minneapolis MN. Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ruth D. Martin. Survived by daughter, Anna (Phil) Yard, Tucson; grandchildren, Maggie (Doug) Rorbach, Tucson and Philip (Donna) Yard III, Alaska; great-granddaughters Ashley and Kate Rorbach, Tucson and Justine and Samantha Yard, Alaska. He graduated in 1926 from the University of Minn. School of Mines with a degree as mining engineer. He was employed by the Tennessee Copper Co. then joined the Colorado Iron Works Co., Denver, Colorado. He then joined Oglebay Norton and Co. and played a role in the development and planning of Reserve Mining Company’s taconite project in northern Minn. in the 1940's & early 1950's. In later years, he continued to plan and develop other mining properties. He was a member of the B.P.O.E., the A.I.M.E. and other mining related associations. Cryptside Services were held January 2, 1995 at East Lawn Cemetery. The Rt. Rev. Robert Wilkes, St. Jude’s Anglican Church officiated.
MILLER, Pemmy McGavin, passed away December 24, 1994 in Tucson at the age of 70. Mother of four children, daughter, Stacy Sue Lowe; sons, Todd Miller, Barry Miller, and Mark Wilhelm. OCHS, John Hanten, July 28, 1962 – December 29, 1994. Survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary D. Ochs; brothers, Mark and Matthew J. Ochs; sister, Angela M. “Gigi’ Nitka; and longtime companion, B.B., all of Tucson; also survived by his grandmother, Mrs. Helen M. Domler; aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Berg of Minneapolis, Dr. and Mrs. Louis J. Demer of Tucson, Mrs. Bonnie Domler Mackey of Windsor, WI, Mrs. Coralie Domler Holth and Mrs. Marlene P. Domler of Tucson; nieces, Nicole Ochs and Emily R. Nitka; nephew, Charles J. Nitka; numerous cousins and friends. John was a federal probation officer until October of this year. He held a master’s degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Arizona and spoke four languages fluently. No one whose life Johnny touched will ever forget his enthusiasm and zest for life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to PACT for Life of Tucson. Memorial Mass to be held at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, January 7 at 11:00 a.m.

WING, Donald E., 69, of Yuma, AZ, passed away in Tucson December 31, 1994 of pancreatic cancer. He was a retired Lt. Col. in the U.S.A.F. He is survived by his wife, Louise Tudor Wing of Yuma; daughter, Margie Blanchet of Texas; son, Russell Wing of Nebraska; stepchildren, Ron Dague and Laura Smith of Yuma, AZ; he also leaves eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. MEYER, Craig Word has been received of Mr. Meyer’s death on November 10, 1994 in Paradise, CA of a heart attack, after playing basketball. He was born October 30, 1946 in Tucson, AZ to Paul D., and Barbara J. Meyer of OH. He graduated from Amphitheater High School in Tucson, completed his education on a basketball scholarship to Arizona Western Junior College at Yuma, AZ and California Western University at Pt. Loma in San Diego. After graduation he worked as a golf professional for 25 years in the San Diego area. He recently moved to Paradise to assist in the care of his parents. He excelled at many sports, loved music, Ohio State, Mickey Mantle, and the New York Yankees. He is survived by daughters, Holly Meyer of Costa Mesa, and Erica Rosen of KS; mother, Mrs. Paul Meyer of Paradise; and brother, Larry Meyer of Magalia.
OWEN, Clinton E., 79, of Tucson, died Monday, December 12, 1994. Preceded in death by his son, Richard in 1965. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjory; children, Shirley Tatro, David Owen, both of Tucson, Donald Owen of Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Owen retired from Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 180. LOESEKE, Jan, died December 13, 1994 at her home in Tucson. She was born August 5, 1918, the daughter of Robert and Dazie Hoyt of Peoria, IL. She and her husband, Carl William, owner of the Quality Cafe moved from Bloomington, IL to Tucson, AZ in 1968. Jan was a teacher and businesswoman in Bloomington and after Carl’s death in 1976, she was a real estate agent with Tucson Realty and Trust. Two children survive, Susan L. Nenadic, 550 Woodhill Drive, Saline, MI 48176 and William H Loeseke, 14 Hart Street, Middletown, RI 02842; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Nenadic; and a sister, Drusilla Delaney of Libertyville, IL. SALWEN, Lenny, 68, died December 10, 1994. Survived by best friend and wife, Ruth; father of Andrea (Jim) Gillis of Tucson, Valerie Salwen of NY, Kevin (Joan) Salwen of GA, Richard (Maureen) Fogel of NY, and Alan (Eileen) Fogel of NJ; ten grandchildren also survive. GREEN, Loretta W., 80, of Tucson, died December 15, 1994. Survived by two brothers, James Arthur Whalen of Winterhaven, FL, Jack Whalen of Appleton, WI; three sisters, Lucille Crawford of Cedar Rapids IA, Margaret Grimm and Betty Reese, both of Belvidere, IL; 17 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Green. Mrs. Green arrived in Tucson in 1952 and had a long career as a legal secretary.
