SINGER, Aida E., 98, of Tucson, died Tuesday, December 6, 1994. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and grandson, Barry Shandling. Survived by her children, Larry Singer, Paula Gottlieb, Muriel Shandling; four grandchildren, Caroline, Scott, Garry, Mark; and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Singer was a longtime volunteer for numerous organizations especially the V.A. Hospital. She was a member of the True Kindred and the Order of the Eastern Star. GASKILL, Donovan William, 85, of Tucson, died December 26, 1994. Born May 2, 1909 in Verona, Ohio, to Charles Wilbur Gaskill and Bessie May Meyers. Survived by his wife, Esther Furnas Gaskill of Tucson; son, Brian (Peggy) Gaskill of Henderson, NV; daughter, Sharon (John) Whitthorne of Tucson; brother, Dillen (Lova) Gaskill of Dayton, OH; and four grandsons, Bradley and Gregory Gaskill of Henderson, NV, Perry (Elizabeth) Whitthorne of Tucson and Paul Whitthorne of NY, NY. He graduated from the Miami Jacobs Business College in Dayton, OH. He moved from Ohio to Arizona in January of 1946 and worked as a banker and a grocer until his retirement. CONTRERAS SR., Fortino Y., 73, of Tucson, passed away November 30, 1994. Survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Dolores “Lolita’; sons, Fortino Jr. and Raul Contreras; daughters, Gloria Vera and Ernestina (Joe) Lauterio; five grandchildren; and one great grandson. Mr. Contreras was a life member of the Latin-American Social Club and the Father’s Club. Retired after 38 years at Southern Pacific railway and a veteran of WWII. DIRENFELD, Rose, a resident of Tucson for 46 years, passed away on December 2, 1994 at the age of 91. She was born on June 9, 1903 in Cleveland, OH. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harry; daughter, Sally (Lee) Kreida; son, Ted (Judy) Direnfeld; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. FOSTER, Henry, CWO-4, U. S. Army, Ret., died December 1, 1994 at age 88. Born in Texas, Mr. Foster lived in Arizona for the past 68 years and in Tucson since his retirement from the Army in 1958. He is survived by his wife, Anita; four sons, Nathan P. Foster of Phoenix, Henry Jr. (Bertha), Christopher R. and Richard A. Foster of Tucson. Other survivors include three sisters, four brothers and three sisters-in-law, all living out of State. There are several nieces and nephews. HILDEBRAND, Don, of Tucson, AZ died Wednesday, November 30, 1994. Survived by his wife, Kathy Hildebrand; children, Jeffrey Hildebrand, Denise Hildebrand Guerrero; step-daughter, Cynthia Glaspie; son-in-law, Manny Guerrero; father, Cecil Hildebrand; sisters, Charline Keller, Ann (Guy) Fury, Judy Henkelman; brother, Tony (Cheryl) Hildebrand; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Hildebrand was Owner and President of Southwest Helicopters Inc./Medivac 1 Ambulance Services and a F.A.A. Pilot Examiner. He was a former and the first President of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilot’s Association. During the Vietnam War he was a Chief Warrant Officer in the 281st Attack Helicopter Company with the U. S. Army, Special Forces. He was a former and the first Chief Pilot of the Tucson Police Department. He was an active member of the Airborne Law Enforcement Association and a member of numerous Helicopter Professional Associations and Organizations. He was a member of B.P.O.E. #2532.
