PAYNE, David William, 41, of Eagar, AZ, died November 17, 1994. Survived by sons, Kevin and Brian; mother, Helen of Tucson, AZ; brother, Robert of Gilbert, AZ. Mr. Payne moved to Arizona 14 years ago. He was a member of Little League Baseball for Children, an avid outdoorsmen, loved to hunt and go fishing and camping with his wife and children. Memorial Service was on Saturday, November 19. In lieu of flowers, make contributions to the Little League Children’s Baseball team.
PRATHER, Jack D., 76, died November 24, 1994. Mr. Prather has been a resident of Arizona for 28 years. His survivors are: sons, Michael L. and Richard Don (Connie) Puckett of Tucson; sisters, Pearl Brown, Nell Bearden, Dell Blackmon, Leonida Sanders, all of TX; grandchildren, Melvin, Richard, Joshua Puckett and Laquita Fisher; eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother, L. D. Prather. Mr. Prather is a WWII Veteran. He retired from Anamex Mining. WING, Leona M., 81, of Tucson, died Friday, December 23. Preceded in death by husband, Osmund G. Wing. Survived by daughter, Orene L. Epperson (Keith), Carlsbad, CA; son, James O. Wing (Bess), Tucson; two sisters, Agnes Pattridge and Pearl Underdahl, both of MN. Mrs. Wing had five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Wing arrived in Tucson in 1945. ALLEY, G. T. “Tom’, 88, of Tucson, passed away December 24, 1994. Preceded in death by beloved wife Frances who passed away in 1993. Survived by daughters, Margaret A. (Tom) Farrell of Albuquerque, NM and Ruth Larsen of Tokyo, Japan; sons, Robert M. Alley of Tucson and Gordon T. Alley of Tucson; sisters, Zenette Springs of Stockdale, TX and Bama Buchanan of Austin, TX; brothers, Joel of Ajo, AZ and Perry of Ajo, AZ; also survived by grandchildren, Catherine, Michelle, Thomas Jr., Gretchen, Nels, Nina, Judy Lynne and Gordon T. “G.T.’ III. BROOKS, Edith Florence, 88, passed away peacefully into the arms of Our Lord on December 24, 1994. Beloved Mother and Grandmother. She was born December 16, 1906, in Hull, Quebec. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Clay M. Brooks. She is survived by her daughter Teal Ann (Richard) Harris; her granddaughter, Cynthia (Michael) Barrios; grandson, Clayton W. Robertson; and her two loving great-grandchildren, Crystal and Matthew Barrios; many nieces and nephews. She was a registered nurse and later changed her vocation and became a children’s librarian. She retired from Tucson Public Library in 1972. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28 between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY. COSENTINO, Anna A., 59, of Tucson, passed away peacefully into the arms of Our Lord on December 20, 1994 at home surrounded by the love of her family. Beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She had great love, faith and trust in Our Lord. She was born on August 2, 1935 in Italy. She emigrated to the United States after marrying her husband, Bruno, in 1955. She lived in Canton, Ohio until 1975, when the family moved to Tucson. She was known by many as Mrs. Bruno, working side by side with her husband at Bruno Custom Tailors and Men’s Wear for 17 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Luigi Armogida, and brother, Armando Armogida, both of Italy. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bruno; daughter, Catherine; son, Andrew; son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Donna; five granddaughters, Mari, Anna-Marie, Suzanne, Brianna and Catherine, all of Tucson. In addition, she is survived by her mother, Maria Antonietta Armogida of Italy; mother-in-law, Caterina Cosentino of Tucson; brother Enrico Armogida of Italy; brother, Salvatore Armogida of Ohio; sister, Catherine Cosentino of New York; sister, Cecilia Limardo of Italy; and brother, Giovanni Armogida of Italy. BOYNTON, Maj. William Wordsworth, U.S.M.C. (retired). William departed from his earthly surroundings on November 18, 1994 after an illness with cancer for the last two years. His background included 25 years of service in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, the Korean Conflict and early era NietNam; during which time he served in the South Pacific on such islands as Saipan, Tinian, Guam and the Ryukus Islands including Okinawa. Service in Korea included four Campaigns and the now famous battle of the Changjin Reservoir of which the survivors are now joined in a brotherhood called the “Chosin Few.’ William “Bones’ Boynton moved through the enlisted ranks attaining and serving the position of Sgt. Major and continuing into the Officer Corps serving as a Major at which rank he retired. Marine Corps service included tours with the Air Arm, Infantry, Amphibious Tanks, Posts and Stations and the Field Artillery. After service, William attended and graduated from the University of Arizona in 1969. Other happenings included service with the VISTA Program and as a Probation Officer at the Arizona State Industrial School at Fort Grant, Arizona. During the 1970-80s William and his brother, Frank, recently deceased, operated Frank Boynton’s Golf and Tennis at four Tucson locations. William served for 13 years on the Board of Directors of the Southern Arizona Cerebral Palsy Foundation, two of which as President. Other civic duties included membership on the Catholic Diocese of Tucson School Board for six years, the last of which as President. He served, with others, in the formation of the Catalina Village Council north of Tucson and aided in a two-year accreditation procedure of a north Pima County High School. Membership in service, fraternal and religious organizations included Missioner for the Episcopal Church of the Apostles, Arizona Veterans Association at the University of Arizona, AFM #242-Port Royal, South Carolina, VFW Post #4903, AMVETS, Marine Corps League-Tucson Detachment, Sabbar Shrine Volunteer (circus worker), SALOC, ATC, volunteer worker for Santa Catalina Mission and of course the Exclusive Fraternity of Honor, “The Chosin Few’ for those who served at the Changjin Reservoir during the Korean Conflict. William served as President of the Arizona Chapter for one year and prior to that as Vice President. William is survived by his loved wife and true friend, JoAnn; sisters, Nelle O’Brien Boynton and Polly Schafer; children, William Boynton II, Sharon Ann Tarro, Pamela Elaine Emes and Deanne Rene Boynton; nine grandsons, one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren and other family and friends too many to number. As William travels into eternal life, friends and relatives are invited to gather at memorial services and receptions of his journey…

BRACK, Henry, died December 6, 1994. Twenty-year Tucson resident, born November 30, 1900 in Lynn, Mass. Worked as a tailor, chef and bartender. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley Louise Brack December 1992. He is survived by son, Robert Tanner of Burlington, Vermont and daughter Audrey Kolar of Sierra Vista, Arizona; several grandchildren and special friends Bud and Jean Davis.
