FALLS, Rilla Lee, 67, of Tucson, died November 18, 1994. Loving wife of 42 years to William G; loving mother to children, Sandra Lee (Michael) Marschinke, Shari Lynn Falls, and Susan Lisa (Randall) Kalal, all of Tucson; loving grandmother to Jennifer, Brenton, Kelly, Nicole, Stacy and Nicholas. Mrs. Falls is also survived by sisters-in-law, Margaret Pope of Florida and Helen Kearns of Pennsylvania. Rilla was a longtime resident of Tucson and taught with TUSD for 35 years. She was active in and enjoyed her church work. She was also a life member of NEA, AHEA and TEA. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 1994. Funeral Services will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, on Tuesday, November 22, 1994 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverends Don and Kathy Bryant of Broadway Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Broadway Christian Church, 4741 E. Broadway, Tucson, AZ 85711. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

GERBER, Howard Miles, 69, of Yuba City, CA, died November 16, 1994. Survived by wife, Verna Kuster Gerber of Yuba City, CA; son, Howard J. Gerber of Franklin, NC, Lawrence M. Gerber of Lakeview Terrace, CA and Daniel L. Johnson of Yuba City, CA; sisters, Lucille Wolf, Syble Otto, Ruth Karn, all of Marina, CA; five granddaughters. Mr. Gerber was a retired tile setter. He was born in Mountain Home, AR on February 24, 1925; a veteran of the U.S. Navy in WWII. He was a graduate of Yuba College and Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma City, OK, member of Sutter-Butte Mineral Society and the California Faceters Guild. Mr. Gerber spent many winters in Tucson, AZ. Services Monday, November 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Twin Cities, 715 Shasta Street, Yuba City, CA, Rev. Edgar Nelson officiating. Burial at Sutter Cemetery, Sutter, CA.

GUZMAN, Armida Bautista, 64, wife of Ernesto C. Guzman, sadly passed away on November 15, 1994. She was born and raised in El Paso, TX, a graduate of Bowie High School. Resident of Douglas and Tucson for the last 30 years. Armida was a very loving, brilliant and generous person that touched and enlightened many lives. She has gone to join her beloved son, Ernie and husband. She will be immensely missed by her daughters, Norma (Michael) Geer, Yvette (Alan) Vaughn and Eydie (John) Kerrigan. Words cannot express the loss to her beloved grandchildren, Erica Frisby, Kristopher and Karissa Geer and Jon Ryan Kerrigan; and her very supportive and loving sisters, Alicia, Angela, Amelia; brothers, Alberto, Armando and Arnoldo; and countless wonderful friends. Memorial Service at Our Mother of Sorrows Church to be announced on Friday, November 25. El Paso Services on November 20, at Martin Funeral Home at 8:00 p.m. at 3839 Montana. Funeral at Our Lady of Light Church, 4700 Delta at 9:00 a.m. on November 21. Burial at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers make donations to Special Olympics.

LIPSCOMB, Elaine Kaiser, 80, of Tucson, died November 16, 1994. Survived by Dr. William R. Lipscomb; daughter, Sally (Lee) Brown Davis; step-daughter, Terry Hauser Bursick of Colorado; grand-daughter, Peggy (Craig) Drachman Finfrock; grandson, Lee Davis, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Sally Elizabeth Drachman, all of Tucson, AZ. She was past president of St. Luke’s Board of Visitors, past chairman of Silver and Turquoise Ball and past chairman of Tucson Symphony Cotillion Advisory Committee. Services will be held at St. Phillip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4400 N. Campbell Avenue at River Road, on Monday, November 21, at 4:00 p.m. with Father Douglas officiating. Memorial donations may be sent to St. Michael’s Parish Day School Scholarship Fund; St. Michael’s School, 602 N. Wilmot, Tucson, AZ 85711. 722-8478. REIS, Rose H., 58, of Tucson died November 16, 1994. Mother of Dawn E. Bontog and Stacy M. Cullen, both of Hawaii; four grandchildren; daughter of Bella Ivan of Calgary, Canada; also survived by sisters and brothers. Memorial Service at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL Monday, November 21 at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements by ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL 3435 N. First Avenue (888-1111).

SOTELO, Yvette Amanda, 13, died November 16, 1994. Will be sadly missed by parents, Yvette and Lonnie Brunson and David Sotelo all of Tucson; sister of Sarah, Andrea and Celeste Sotelo, all of Tucson; and Lonnie Oscar Bronson of Tucson; granddaughter of Manuel Sotelo of Tucson and Linda and Francisco Arvizu of Tucson and Melvin Brunson of Marana; many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Mass will be offered at 11:15 a.m. Monday, November 21, 1994, at St Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Interment to follow at T.M.P. East Lawn. Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, and friends may call Sunday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. November 20, at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. The family wishes to thank you for your prayers and support.

YU, Kam Chu, 78, of Tucson, died November 18, 1994. Born November 6, 1916 in Canton, China. Survived by two children, See Yam Yu and Gim Yot Yu, both of Tucson; brothers, Robert Gee of Los Angeles, CA, Victor Gee, Dudley Gee and Phillip Gee, all of Tucson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. PALECK, Lillian, K., 72, died Monday, November 21, 1994. Survived by daughter, Christine A. Brooks of Tucson; two sons, Bob Paleck of McLean, VA and Bill Paleck of Mt. Vernon, WA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Harold F. Paleck. Funeral Services will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday, November 25, 1994 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Road, with Rev. Tom Kiracofe officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. RIOS, Oscar M., 79, of Tucson, passed away November 21, 1994. Survived by sons, Joe (Susie) Rios, Antonio Rios; sisters, Amanda Garcia, Carmen Laguna; six grandchildren, Jose, Sammy, Lisa, Oscar, Carlitos, Perscilla; Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 1994, 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (North Chapel), 204 S. SOO HOO, Edward W., 65, died Friday, November 18, 1994 at Northwest Hospital in Tucson, AZ after a brief illness. Originally from Oxnard, CA and a long time resident of Ventura, CA, he was the youngest son of Chinese immigrant restaurateurs. Edward graduated from Oxnard High School and studied at UCLA. He was a businessman in a Ventura based off-shore surveying and navigations firm for 30 years until his retirement in 1981 after suffering debilitating complications from neurological surgery. Edward is survived by his wife, Patricia (Latham) Soo Hoo of Tucson; eldest son, Wayne E. of Hollywood, CA; daughter, Gail, her husband Richard and three children, Stephen, Erin, and Morgan of Tucson; son, Neill W, his wife Michele and their son Ty of Sacramento, CA; youngest son, Jay A. of Ventura, CA; brother, Bartley Soo Hoo and his family of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Irene Lai and her family of Fresno, CA; sister-in-law, Angela M. Soo Hoo and her family of Oxnard, CA; niece, Gena Child and her family of So. Lake Tahoe, CA. The family observed a private traditional Chinese ceremony prior to cremation. Mr. Soo Hoo’s ashes were scattered at sea off the coast of Ventura. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

GOMEZ, James Juan-Luis, two months, of Tucson, passed away November 22, 1994. Survived by parents, Ernesto Gomez and Gloria Alvarez; brother, Ernesto Jr; great-grandmother, Carmen Gonzales; grandparents, Maria Victoria Humo and Juanita (Ernesto) Casas; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held Friday starting at 4:00 p.m. at Christo Rey Church on the Pascua Yaqui Reservation with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be said Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Church. KRIETZ, Albin J., 83, of Tucson, passed away November 22, 1994. Mr. Krietz was a manager at Lucky Stores for many years. Preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; and sons, John and Carl. Survived by son, Albin R. (Jan) Krietz of Tucson; daughters, Mary E. (Paul) Higgins of Claremont, CA, and Elizabeth A. (Warren) Menche, of Portland, OR; six grandchildren; sisters, Van Zimmerman of Traverse City, MI; Mildred West of Flint, MI and Jeanne Green, of Los Angeles, CA. Friends may call at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd & Swan, on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Holy Hope Mausoleum.

WEST, Irena R., passed away on Saturday, November 19, 1994 at the age of 71. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth West; son, Michael (Darlene) West; sister, Loraine (Arnie) Herstad of WI; grandchildren, James L. West and Michelle L. West; two great-grandchildren, Lydia West and Jesse West, all of Tucson; nieces, Gail Terrell and Pat Punzel of WI. Memorial Service will be held at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, 602 N. Wilmot Road, Friday, November 25, 1994 at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.

HENGY, Joseph F., 64, died December 19. Survived by his wife, Celestine Hengy; children, Sandra (Tom) Micks, of MO, Phyllis (Doug) Manley of CA, Susan (Dave) Hafey of VA, Lawrence (Marlene) Hengy of MI, Kenneth Hengy of MO. Survived by his brothers, Lawrence, Fredrick and John; sisters, Jean, Jan, Ann, and Theresa; 11 grandchildren also survive. Mr. Hengy was very active with the Arizona Polish Club and was past president, and served in the United State Marine Corp. Memorial Service 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 23 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, with Father John Allt and military honors by the United States Marine Corp Reserve. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
