LEWIS, Juanita, 85, of Tucson, died October 31, 1994. Survived by daughters, Doris (Bob) Funk of Scottsdale and Helen (Gordon) Nelson of Tucson; daughter-in-law, Inge Terpening of Litchfield Park, AZ; sisters, Miriam Penry of Radnor, OH and Jane Graham of Waldo, OH; brother, Edwin (Mabel) Reed, Jr. of Sidney, OH; sisters-in-law, Viola Lewis of Delaware, OH and Grace Rengert of Sparta, WI; several nieces and nephews also survive as well as six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. LOPEZ, Victor A., born July 27, 1956, passed away in Santa Monica, CA, on October 30, 1994. He is survived by his family and numerous friends who’s lives were touched by the beauty of his soul. SCOTT, Alford H., 89, of Tempe, AZ, died October 29, 1994. Came to Arizona in 1972 from Chicago, moving to Tucson, and then moving to Tempe in 1982 from Tucson. Mr. Scott graduated from Westlyan University in Oklahoma in 1927, was Vice President of Northern Trust Company in Chicago, retiring in 1970; was a member of Kiwanis Club in Chicago for many years and member of Covenant Methodist Church in Evanston, IL. Survived by wife, Ruth Scott of Tempe; son, Charles A. Scott of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Douglas Scott, Chicago, IL and Carolyn Cobleight, Manhatten Beach, CA. Private cremation was held. WALBERT, Louis David, 83, passed away at home on October 31, 1994. Survived by his loving wife, Elaine; two sisters: Mae Litchy of Portland, OR and Violia Murry of Longview, WA; a favorite great nephew, Garth Walbert and his father Chuck Walbert of Portland, OR; also a nephew, Gordon Butcher; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Walbert was born in Willow Creek, MT on May 3, 1911. He entered the Navy in June, 1927 and retired after serving 22 years. He made a career of the Navy and served his country with pride. Mr. Walbert was an active member of Sabbar Shrine Temple. He belonged to a motorcycle group for many years and he had a 50 year membership of Mt. Hood Lodge No. 157 of Portland, OR. He also belonged to Scottish Rite Temple of Memphis and was a member of Alton Kol Grotto. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. BISSETT, Ruth M., 87, of Tucson, AZ, a summer resident of Acton, ME, died August 17, 1994 in Sanford, ME, after a brief illness. She was born March 4, 1907 in Swampscott, MA, a daughter of James W. and Adelaide (Baxendale) McCowan. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. She was active in women’s clubs in Massachusetts. She was a founder of the Evening Division of the Woman’s Club of Lynn, was past president of the 9th District, and was a former secretary of the Massachusetts Federation of Women’s Clubs. She was also a Girl Scout leader. Her husband, Alexander F. Bissett Sr. died in 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Glenn of Newfields, NH and Jacquelin Benner of Marblehead, MA; a son, Alexander Bissett Jr. of Englewood, CO; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12th, at the Casas Adobes Congregational Church, 6801 N Oracle Road, Tucson, 11:00 a.m., Dr. David W. Smith will officiate. Friends invited.

SWEDBERG, Lennart Frederick, 73, died November 1, 1994 in Tucson. Mr. Swedberg, a retired Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company executive, joined Goodyear in 1947 in Akron, OH after graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and sang in the A Cappella Choir. During World War II he served his country as an officer in the Army Air Corps in North Africa and Italy. During his 33 years with Goodyear his assignments included Managing Director, Goodyear Sweden, and Managing Director, Goodyear Germany. Twenty-four of his years with Goodyear were in Europe. A son of Swedish immigrants, John and Julia Swedberg from Boras, Sweden, he was born in Hartford, Connecticut on February 17, 1921, where he was raised with his sister, Mrs. Erma Anderson, who is retired and resides in Myrtle Beach, SC. Mr. Swedberg is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Bell Swedberg, the former daughter of Doctor Walter S. and Muriel McCleery of Delaware, OH; his son, Scott, daughter-in-law, Lora and granddaughter, Morgan Swedberg; and his son, John and daughter-in-law Leisa. Services will be Saturday, November 5, 1994, 11:00 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Foothills, 5102 N. Craycroft Road, with Pastor Gerald Conrad officiating.
