CURTIS, Grace, 96, of Tucson, died October 22, 1994. Survived by her daughter, Frances Curtis of Tucson; her sister, Sister Agnes McDonough of Buffalo, NY; her granddaughters, Sue Watson and Sallie Taylor of Tucson; her grandson, Warren Peter Williamson of Dallas, TX; her six great-grandchildren, Dawn and Todd Watson, Laura and Curtis Taylor, Tara Williamson, and Rhondi Bryant of Dallas, TX; her niece, Marge Hayden of Mill Valley, CA; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Curtis had lived in Tucson for the past 63 years. She was a lifelong parishioner of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church; a member of its Marion Guild and Bridge Marathon Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Curtis, a 5th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. She was also preceded in death by a son, Bucky Curtis; and a daughter, Jeanne Williamson. KNAPP, Anna D., 77, of Tucson, died Friday, October 21, 1994. Preceded in death by husband, Charles. Survivedby sons, Fr. Charles Knapp, Patrick (Marguerite) Knapp; daughter, Lydia Kostenbader, Kathleen (Ray) Wood; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Lusteck and Alice Smart. She will be greatly missed by friends and neighbors. Mrs. Knapp was women professional basketball player from 1941 through 1944 in upstate New York, and worked as a LPN until retirement. LABAYEN, Joyce, born in Chicago, IL on July 13, 1926 to the Union of Jean Marie Moutoussamy and Julia Walker Moutoussamy. She was baptized at Saint Elizabeth’s Catholic Church. She graduated from Fenger High School on the south side of Chicago in 1944 and retired in 1982; after spending 12 years with the postal service and 20 years with the Veteran’s Administration/Finance and Adjudication Divisions. After retirement she moved to Tucson, AZ with her devoted husband, Vincent D. Labayen; where she formed Labayen and Company, a real estate brokerage firm. Joyce was active in the Minx Social Club of Chicago, The Tucson Golf and Variety Club, and Las Vecinos. She volunteered her time at the VA Medical Center using her expertise and knowledge gained from having served on the V.A. Rating Board in various capacities. Joyce’s oldest sister, Veronica, preceded herHR in death. Joyce leaves to mourn her passing, her loving and most devoted husband, Vince; two daughters, Joyce Renfroe Davis and Annette Labayen Tackett; a sister, Bernadette Harris; a brother, John Moutoussamy; one son-in-law, James; two grandchildren, Lisa Marie and Theodore Williams IV; two great-grandchildren, Sean and Michael Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Robert was born in Madisonville, TN, May 16, 1925, after a distinguished military career settled in Tucson. Commenced a civil service career at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in 1968, after 22 years of service he retired in January, 1989. SLEDGE, Patrick E., Sr., born on September 10, 1940, in Collinsville, OK, passed away suddenly Friday, October 21, 1994 in San Manuel. He moved to Arizona as a child and worked at Magma Copper Company 33 years. He was a member of the Elks, Masons, Scottish Rights, and Southwest Woodcarvers Association in Tucson. Survivors include his beloved wife of 36 years, Mary Ann; three sons, and daughters-in-law, Pat (Sue), Duane (Lisa), Phil (Traci), six grandchildren, Heather, Kris, Michael, Justin and Kortney Sledge and Krista Lewallen; sister, Linda Thompson; and brother, Ricky Otte; and many close friends.
