GALAS, Roberto Valadez, 62, of Tucson, passed away at his home on October 11, 1994. Survived by his devoted wife, Elsie C. Galas; mother, Ruth Valadez; one daughter, Elsa Galas; one grandson, Amore Roberto Arriaga; sons, Roberto Galas, Jr, Marco Antonio Galas and Juan Carlos Galas; sisters, Ana (Frank) Morales of California, Flora Valadez, Mary (Cornelio) Torres and Terry (Gene) Berris of CA; brothers, Fernando (Marcia) Galaz and Joe Galaz of Kansas; sister-in-laws, Toni (Joe) Bustamante and Mary (Lalo) Villa of CA; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mr Galas was a Veteran of Korean Conflict. He served in the U.S. Army for four years. He was a Master Carpenter and Builder and worked both in Arizona and California. After retirement he worked as a Crossing Guard for the Tucson Unified School District. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 1994 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Friday, 9:00 a.m., at St. Margaret’s Church. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.

RYMAN, Robert Wallace, 64, of Tucson, retired office executive in the oil industry. Survived by his wife, Joan Ryman; his father, Alvar Ryman of Florida; and other loving family. Mr. Ryman was a member of Grace St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Memorial Services will be held at Grace St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams St., on Sunday, October 16, 1994 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gordon McBride officiating, immediately followed by reception. Committal of cremains to follow at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. SOLOMON, Joe A., 67, of Tucson, passed away October 10, 1994. Preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Greg, and Jimmy; sister, Mary Campbell. Survived by sisters, Rose “Chita’ Granillo, Lil Brandt and Beea Cocio. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Joe served in the U.S. Army and was a War World II Veteran. He was retired from the City of Tucson. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 1994 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (North Chapel), 204 S. TREUMANN, Bette N., 73, of Tucson, passed away October 10, 1994. Born July 31, 1921 in Grafton, ND. She was Valedictorian of her high school class, a member of Delta Gamma sorority, and an alumnae of UND. She moved to Tucson in 1957 when her husband was transferred to DMAFB, was active in the Officers’ Wives Club at DM, and was an avid bridge enthusiast. Preceded in death by her husband, Maj. Manville “Manny’ Giles Treumann, and grandson, Adam Mortenson. Loving mother of, Bill N. (Shari) Treumann, Barbara J. (Dennis) Crowley and Mary E. Mortenson, all of Tucson. Survived by her father, W.E. Neilson, and sisters, Eleanor Swartz and Merie Fedje, all of Grafton, ND. Also survived by her five grandchildren, Beth (Treumann) Ballweg, Neil Treumann, Stacie Treumann, Andy Mortenson, Matthew Mortenson; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by many. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 1994.

DAVIS, Robert P., Sergeant Major USA, Retired, 63, died October 12, 1994. He is survived by his wife, Marlis J. of Tucson; son, James A. Davis of Los Angeles, CA; stepdaughter, Stephanie L. King of Tucson; grandsons, Joshua B. King of Tucson, Bradley and Connor Davis of Los Angeles, Brandon Davis of Marietta, OH; granddaughter, Kendra Davis of Marietta, OH; brother, Charles R. Prunty of MS. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patti Andrews of Medina, OH. Mr. Davis entered the US Army in 1963 completing 23 years of active service in the Military Intelligence Field, top graduate from the Monterey Military School of Language, speaking fluent Russian and Thai language and spent two tours in Vietnam earning him high military honors. After his retirement on June 13, 1978 at Ft. Huachuca, Sgt. Major Davis successfully completed requirements to become an LPN and served 13 years at Tucson Medical Center. Funeral Service 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 14 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, with Chaplain Bill Killian officiating. Interment to follow at Desert Vista Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

FAVOR, Shirley D., born December 4, 1927, died October 10, 1994. Survived by her two daughters, Cyndi Mobley of Tucson and Sharlene Duguid of Glendale Heights, IL; also survived by her mother, Dorothy McNider of Ladysmith, WI; four brothers, Duane, Loren, Bill and Fred; one sister, Delores. Shirley was involved in 12 Step Work. She passed away with 35 continuous years of sobriety. She is remembered for “Tears Cleanse the Soul’, also “G.O.D.’(Good Orderly Direction). She will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc.

Treva was born in Globe, AZ, June 2, 1923. She lived in Globe, AZ, Southgate, CA, and Opportunity, WA before moving to Tucson in 1988. No services are planned in Tucson. LANCE, F. Darrell, 72, of Granbury, Texas and former Tucson resident, died October 11, 1994. Preceded in death by his son, Richard Lance. Survived by wife, Betsy; daughter, Anita of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Cheryl and granddaughter, Sara of Tucson; sister, Jean Smethers of Tolar, TX. Darrell was chief engineer for the USAF Flying Training Command until 1954 when he entered the construction field. He became a developer and general contractor in Green Valley, Tucson and Texas and later a real estate appraiser until his 1989 retirement. He served a term as a juvenile judge in Tucson. Darrell, a 32nd degree mason and Baptist deacon, had been active in many professional and church organizations, serving on the board of American Society of Appraisers, Independent Fee Appraisers Assoc., Grand Baptist College, AZ Southern Baptist Hospital, Yuma Baptist Hospital and the AZ Southern Baptist Convention. He was a member of the 22nd Street Baptist Church in Tucson and the Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury. Funeral Services Thursday, October 13, 1994 at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury, Texas.

MCKAMEY, Eileen Elizabeth, 81 years old, died Wednesday, October 12, 1994 in Tucson. Survived by two brothers, John Campbell of Tucson, AZ, and Thomas Campbell of Ireland; five sisters, Ann Donohue, Josephine Bailey, both of Tucson, Margaret Grogan of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kathleen O’Donnell and June Crawley, both of Ireland. Mass for Mrs. McKamey will be said at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 1994 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7651 E. Pima. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 1994, at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. SHAW, Richard J., 89, of Cochise, died October 11, 1994. Born June 19, 1905 in Decatur, IL. He was a retired Agriculture Engineer, a member of the Arizona Historical Society, Honorary Apache Tribal member, Alumni Emeritis for the University of Arizona. Preceded in death by first wife, Patricia Wadleigh Shaw, in 1981; son, Richard A. Shaw in 1986. Survivors include wife, Marie; daughter, Nancy S. Curtis, both of Nogales, AZ; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous cousins. Memorial Services Sunday 11:00 a.m. in conjunction with Sunday Services, Trinity Lutheran Church, 111 N. Bisbee, Willcox, AZ, with Pastor David Morgan officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Historical Society in memory of Richard J. Shaw.
