ZEITERS, Eric W., 46, of Tucson, died September 30, 1994 after a long illness. He was a valuable man to his community and his family. He thought independently, and challenged both friends and opponents. He actively worked to make a better life for others. He volunteered often, and devoted himself and his time to the causes he believed in. He taught through the example of his life, and he taught himself continuously. He was admired and respected by his students of Taekwon-do. Survived by wife, Patricia James-Zeiters; son, Christopher J. McFarland; daughter, Marie S. McFarland, all of Tucson; mother, Beverly Zeiters of Marysville, OH; brother, Carl Zeiters of Columbus, OH; and sister, Karen Dixon of Marysville, OH. COOPER, Stephen Lee, Born March 26, 1962 in Tucson, died September 19, 1994 in West Covina, California. Survived by wife, Soledad Cooper of West Covina, CA; mother and father, Joan and Art Cooper of Tucson; three brothers, Rick Turner of Valencia, CA, Sunder Ramani of Valencia, CA, Greg Bowlin of Burbank, CA; uncle, Joe Billings of Tucson; two great uncles, Harold Billings of Victorville, CA, Richard Smith of Seal Beach, CA; great aunt, Joan Dancy of San Diego, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Steve’s parents moved to Glendale, CA when he was two years old. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1980 and then decided to be an electrician so he attended Trade Tech and Pasadena City College. In May of 1981 he went to work for U.S.C. and was there for almost 14 years. On December 19, 1987 in La Canada, CA he married Soledad and then bought their home in West Covina, CA. Steve was an avid sports fan, with each of his brothers he was either water skiing, snow skiing, going to almost all of the U.S.C. games (or betting on them), jogging 7 miles a day, and his favorite sport was playing 18 holes of golf. Chapel Services were held at Valley Funeral Home in Burbank, CA on September 27, 1994 of which over 500 friends and family attended. Services were performed by Rev. Roland Shorter. Eulogies were given by his three brothers, Rick Turner, Sunder Ramani, Greg Bowlin, Rogz Ramani, his boss Chuck O’Regan (Oh, you should have heard some of those stories). Steve will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson next to his grandparents Joe and Dottie Billings. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, October 5, 1994, 11:00 a.m. Evergreen Cemetery, Eagles Section. MCCOLLUM, Marie, 70, died October 1, 1994. Born November 21, 1923. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Col. Marvin Euell McCollum, Ret. U.S. Army; daughters, Frances (Chester) Hurt of Memphis, TN and Norma (James) McDonald of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren also survive. A longtime resident in Tucson, Mrs. McCollum was a published writer, avid reader, a member of the D.A.R., Writers Club, active in Davis Monthan Officers Wives Club and the Retired Officers Wives Club, an ardent history and student of Genealogy. BOYNTON, Frank E. Sr., of Carrollton, TX, former resident of Tucson, died Thursday, September 22, 1994. Mr. Boynton owned and operated “Frank Boynton’s Golf Shop’ for many years and was a favorite of many of the PGA players. Mr. Boynton is survived by his son, Frank E. Boynton Jr.; sisters, Nell Boynton of Carrollton and Polly Shaefer of Winter Haven, FL; brother, Bill Boynton of Tucson; and two grandchildren. No memorial service is scheduled.
BROWN, Calvin A., 86, of Tucson, died September 30, 1994. He retired from Marathon Oil as Assistant General Counsel at the home office in Findley, Ohio. Graduated from University of Michigan Law School. Longtime member of Rotary Clubs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Brown in 1993.
