Silverman; son, Jonathan Silverman; and daughter-in-law, Berry Silverman of Tucson; sister, Ruth Chase; and brother, Emanuel Aaronson of Washington, D.C.; cousin, Janet Cardan of Beverly Hills, CA; sister-in-law, Rhoda Silverman of Washington, D.C.; special friend, Lennie Dolinsky of Augusta, GA; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be Sunday, October 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Sinai Memorial Park in Los Angeles, CA with internment to follow. AGNEW, Haddassa E., 87, of Tucson, died September 27, 1994. Survived by son, William Janssen of Tucson; daughters, Michelle Diller of Tucson, Joan Crider of GA, and Barbara Russo of CT; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Shilo H. Hamilton of PA. Private Funeral Service will be held. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

BORDEN, Malcolm J., 80, died Thursday, September 29, 1994. Tucson resident for the past 19 years from Illinois and Ohio. Survived by his wife, M. Arileen; five daughters, Maxine E. (Mackie) Hazelton and her husband Stephen of Tucson, Sandra S. Hazelton (Sandy) and her husband James of Deming, New Mexico, Mary E. Carnazza and her husband Angelo of Tucson, Marcia J. Brown and her husband William of Trenton, Ohio and Valora A. (Bunny) Roberts and her husband Rikkie of Hamilton, Ohio. There are nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Paula Bethart of Ohio and Mhyra Staph of Florida. A brother, Calvin Hetterich is deceased. A Memorial Mass for Mr. Borden will be held at San Xavier Mission at 8:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 1994 with Father Michael Dallmeier, Celebrant. Following the Mass a gathering of family and friends will be held in the Mission Gardens. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Carondelet Hospice Services at 1802 West St. Mary’s Road in Tucson, AZ 85745. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

LUDY, Elizabeth E. “Betty’, 86, died September 27, 1994. Survived by her daughter, Gladys (Dennis) Archer; grandchildren, Dawn and Gary Archer; several nieces and nephews also survive. SCOPELLITE, Sebastian J., 99,, of Tucson, passed away September 29, 1994. He is survived by wife, Jennie Scopellite; children, Antoinette Painter, Francis Scopellite, Anthony Scopellite, Sam Scopellite, Dolores Lindley, Sarah Scopellite; 27 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Christina Grams. He was a World War I Veteran. He received the 75th Anniversary of WWI Commemorative Metal from Veterans Affairs. Letter and Award from Governor Symington acknowledging his service to his community on his 100th Birthday. He was a plumbing contractor for 60 years in Arizona and Ohio. Family will be receiving friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 1:00 p.m. at HUDGEL’S SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd and Swab. Visitation will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Padilla officiating. Interment Holy Hope Cemetery.

TRUITT, Jane L., 86, of Arivaca and Tonto Basin, AZ, formerly of Farmersburg, IN, passed away at 12:15 a.m. September 28, 1994 at Manzanita Manor, Payson, AZ. She was born January 5, 1908 in Shelburn, IN. She was a substitute teacher for several years in the Farmersburg area. She is survived by two sons, Dave of Tonto Basin, AZ and Jerry of Arivaca, AZ; her brother, Bill Moreland of Oklahoma City; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, James (Dave) in 1980. Memorial Service 12:00 noon Saturday, October 1 at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, 710 S. Kolb Rd. Burial Service will be in Farmersburg, IN 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6 at Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Arivaca EMT’s, P. O. Box 149, Arivaca, AZ 85601 in memory of Jane Truitt.

CHRISTIE, John Everett “Mickey’, died on Wednesday, September 28, 1994. John is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Susan; daughters, Carrie (Jeff) Hamilton and Cathy (Bruce) Fleischhauer; granddaughter, Caitlin Hamilton; father, Russell E. Christie; brother, Russell J. Christie; and sister, Karen Courser. John was born in Fresno, California on October 7, 1938 and moved to Tucson at 16. He graduated from Tucson High School with the largest graduating class in Tucson history and from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. John was a pharmacist at Tucson Medical Center for many years and a member of the Society of Hospital Pharmacists. John had many hobbies and interests which included being a lifelong racing pigeon enthusiast, belonging to the Tucson Homing Pigeon Club for 40 years, renovating classic cars and completing extensive woodworking projects. His friends and family will gather Tuesday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Broadway Christian Church to tell stories and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s honor to the TMC Foundation Cancer Fund, 5301 E. Grant Road, 85712.

MOBLEY, Ret. Lt. Col. Richard A., 86, of Tucson, died September 29, 1994. Rev. Mobley served as Chaplain many years at Tucson VA Hospital. He was a member of Blazing Star Lodge #413 F and AM in Marble Falls, TX. Survived by sons, Richard (Eileen) of Riverside, CA and David (Deborah) of Niskayuna, NY; daughter, Mary (Bob) Stewart of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Jonathan, Timothy, Donna Kuchar, Sheryl, Caitlin and James; brothers, Ray Mobley of TX and J.D. Mobley of TX; sisters, Cleo Ogden of OH, Pat Steck of CA and Carrie Kimbrough of CA. Friends may call Sunday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. SAVOIE, Dr. Eugene A. Savoie, 67, of Tucson, died Thursday, September 29, 1994. Dr. Savoie was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Navy Air Corps. Dr. Savoie worked as a dentist in Tucson, was very active in the American Dental Association, and was extremely dedicated to the health profession.
