OTTO, Elizabeth Anne, 40, a native Tucsonan, died on September 21, 1994 after a battle with cancer. Daughter of Mary L. Otto and the late William C.J. “Bill’ Otto; and sister of, Barbara Tanzillo (Michael), John Otto (Vicki), Kim Sloan (Vincent), Paula Serrato (John), Jennifer Otto, Victoria Otto; aunts, nieces and nephews. Family requests that any donations be made to Carondelet Hospice Services. A service celebrating Elizabeth’s life will be held on Sunday, September 25, 1994, at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Chapel, 6180 E. Pima Street with pastor John Casteel officiating.
PATTERSON, The Rev. J.R. Colebrooke, died peacefully at Sarnia General Hospital, Ontario, Canada on September 20, 1994. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Elizabeth Francis; his children, Margaret Archibald; Peter Patterson and his wife, Barbara; Penelope Kevwitch and her husband, Ron; Patricia White; Pauline Pfeuffer and her husband, Ronald; also by his 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and by his brother, Arthur Elliot Patterson and his wife, Glenna. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Philip’s in The Hills Episcopal Church when the family returns to Arizona. In lieu of flowers memorials to either St. Philip’s in the Hills Outreach Program or to the Diocese of Mpwapwa in Tanzania would be appreciated. BONESTEEL, Rowena Mae, 73, of Tucson, died September 23, 1994. Survived by husband, George A. Bonesteel; children, Beverly (Stanley) Matheny of Grapevine, TX, Alberta (John) Dean of Tucson, Charles (Mickie) Bonesteel of Ft. Wayne, IN, Debbie Starrett of Oklahoma City, OK, and Warren (Sandy) Bonesteel of Tucson; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; brother, Donald McCammon of Kansas, IL; sisters, Dorothy Daugherty of York, IL, and Lucille Thompson of Urbana, IL; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. JONES, George Good, 96, of Tucson, died Friday, September 23, 1994. Survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth; sons, Fred B. Jones of Tucson, Larry W. Mother of Norma (Abel) Leon of CA, Julie (Gil) Garcia of Tucson, and Elvia (Rinaldo) Romo of CA; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive. RIORDAN, William Anthony, 61, of Tucson, died September 24, 1994. Mr. Riordan worked as an attorney in Tucson for 35 years. Mr. Riordan served in the U.S. Air Force and held the rank of Lt. Colonel. Survived by wife, Judith A. Riordan of Tucson; daughters, Mary McSparen and Eileen Moore; sons, Michael Riordan, Kevin Riordan and Daniel Riordan; sister, Pat Reilly of NY; and nine grandchildren. WARD, Wanda L., 62, died September 24, 1994. Born in Columbus, OH, Mrs. Ward lived in Tucson during the 1970s and 80s and again for the past 1 1/2 years. She is the widow of Harry Ward who died in 1990. Survived by four children, Dr. Harry Schutte (Martha) of OH, Melody Lawson (Shannon) of Safford, AZ, Rosalie Muschott (Brian) of OH, Timothy Schutte (Dawn) of Tucson; by three step-children, Larry Ward of AK, Sandy Woodworth (David) and Linda White (Bob) of OH. Other survivors include a nephew, numerous nieces and cousins. While in Ohio Mrs. Ward was a Worthy Matron in the O.E.S. and in Tucson was a volunteer worker for various organizations including the Lions Club and the Copper Bowl. Friends may call at ARIZONA MORTUARY, 7 E. University Blvd., from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 26. A funeral service will be held in the Mortuary Chapel at 7:00 p.m. during the hours of visitation. Further services and interment will be in Ohio where the Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville will be in charge of arrangements. BOOTH, Judson B., 79, of Yuma, AZ, former Tucson resident, passed away September 23, 1994 in a Phoenix Hospital. Survived by wife of 58 years, Ethel Heidel Booth. Survived by sons, W. C. (Donna) Booth of Hartland, WI and Judson Jr. (Sharon) of Mesa, AZ; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Estelle Lundberg of Colville, WA; brothers-in-law, John (Jean) Heidel and Jason (Wyn) Hayward, all of Tucson. He is survived by his wife, Grace; mother, Anna Dove of Warsaw, NY; four daughters, Terri Lebron of New York City, Merri Dove of St. Louis, MO, Mary Kay (Alfred) Martinez of Las Cruces, NM and Cheryl Hart of Albuquerque, NM; two sons, Ricky Dove of Hiawaii and Jerry (Kim) Swain of Ft. ELFERING, Arnold A., 65, of Tucson, died Thursday, September 22, 1994 due to complications following open heart surgery. Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret. He was born May 6, 1929 in Freeport, Minnesota. He came to Tucson in 1954 where he was stationed at DMAFB as a parachute rigger and was honorably discharged. He worked for Hughes Aircraft and for Anamax Mining Corp until he retired. He is survived by his children, Dotti (Rich) Truchsess, Sam (Sharon) Elfering, Janet (Tom) Fischella, Karen (Bob) Wheaton, Mark (Darlene) Elfering and his loving companion Marilyn Faye Wiegand; brothers and sisters, Vic, Larry, Rita, Irene, Ervie and Alice; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; and also many beloved friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any contributions can be made to the American Heart Assoc. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish, Tuesday, September 27 at 6:00 p.m.
FIGG, Anna M., 83, of Tucson, died Saturday, September 24, 1994. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Marian Freeman of Tucson and Mrs. Frances (Robert) Evans of White Cloud, MI; one cousin, Eva Figg of Tucson; one nephew; six nieces; and many dear friends. ROMO, Jose Jesus “Joe’, 67, born in Tucson, and a resident of Long Beach, CA since 1961, died September 23, 1994 after a battle with cancer. Before leaving for Long Beach, he was employed by Shamrock Dairy in Tucson. As a young man he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Preceded in death by his sister, Betty Romo; his father, Jesus L. Romo; and special friend, Ray Darker. Survived by his loving children, Ronald of Fontana, CA, Catherine of Newbury Park, CA, Cynthia of Studio City, CA, and Ricky of Whittier, CA; loving grandchildren, Mayo Romo Pressley, Shawn Romo and Melonie (D.J.) Jeffers; great-grandson, Devante Jeffers of CA; loving mother, Teresa L. Romo; sisters, Mary (Macario) Ruiz, Molly and Toni Romo of Tucson; special friends, Lucille Hill and Ginger Siangco of Long Beach, CA; also survived by four nephews; and eight great-nephews and nieces.
