HAWKINS, Douglas M., 31, of Tucson, died September 19, 1994. Survived by wife, Paula; daughter, Allison; parents, John and Betty Hawkins of Corrales, NM; brothers, John Bradford Hawkins of Houston; William (Calinda) Hawkins of Washington, D.C.; sister, Jill (Garry) Bandy of Leaburg, OR; grandmother, Edna Carl of Cape Coral, FL; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lindy and Tom Smith; and brother-in-law, Robert Smith, all of Albuquerque, NM; nieces and nephews, Jacob Bandy, Ashleigh, Hilary, and William Hawkins. SEGER, Irene M., 90, of Tucson, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 1994. She was born on a farm near Fayette, Ohio, and lived much of her life in S.E. Michigan before moving to Tucson in 1958. She married Fred R. Seger on April 4, 1925 and was preceded in death by him, an infant daughter, Marion, and her grandson, Bradford C. Seger. She is survived by her three children, Former Federal Reserve Governor Martha R. Seger of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Susan I. Seger of Ypsilanti, MI, and Courtland H. (Catherine) Seger of Tucson; and two grandchildren, Janice Ann (William) Meyer and Christine M. (Navid) Kharrazi and many friends and admirers. She will always be remembered for her hard work, beautiful sewing, exceptional cooking, sense of humor, generosity, and many acts of kindness. Her family would like to thank her care-givers who have shown such devotion and love during the last five years of her life. On Sunday, September 25 between 12:30 and 3:00 p.m., the family will receive friends at the Viscount Suites Hotel, Bristol Room, 4855 E. Broadway. A Memorial Service will be held in Michigan. TEARSE, Dorothea “Dodie’, 84, passed away September 21, 1994 in Tucson, AZ. Born in St. Paul, MN, she was the daughter of Nelle and Walter G. Seeger. She graduated from Oak Hall School, St. Paul and attended Carleton College, Northfield, MN. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John, two children, five grandchildren, two great-grandsons and a sister. They and others include son, Walter, his wife Jeanne and granddaughter, Laura, of Jackson Hole, WY, granddaughter, Suzanne of Salt lake City, UT; grandson, David Tearse, M.D., Iowa City, Iowa and his wife Margaret Smollen, M.D. and their sons, John II and William. Dorthea’s daughter Jane, husband, Arthur, grandson, James of Saratoga, CA, grandson, John, Balboa Island, CA; her sister, Miriam, “Susie’ Reay of St. Paul, MN, brother-in-law, The First Episcopal Bishop of San Diego, CA the Rt. Rev. Robert M. Wolterstorff, LaJolla, CA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Her sister Helen Wolterstorff preceded her in death in July of this year. Dorothea and her husband lived for a time in Madison, WI, Northfield, MN, and Columbus, IN, for 26 years in Winona, MN and 33 years in Oro Valley-Tucson, AZ. Active in Winona, she knitted, beautifully for Bundles for Brittan, for WWII servicemen of Winona County and later for the Christ Child Society, Tucson. She started the first Nurses Aide class of Winona General Hospital, was a Boy Scout den mother, President of the Girl Scout Council and was a member of the Y.W.C.A. investment committee. She also served for many years on the Alter Guild of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. In Oro Valley, she was a member of Christ The King Episcopal Church, the Christ Child Society, and Oro Valley Country Club.
