WEST, Joan E., 67, passed away Sunday, September 11, 1994. Survived by two daughters, Jayne West and Jennifer E. West-Kantor; two sons, Matthew G. West and Mark R. West; brother, Stanley Johnson. Visitation Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at HEATHER MORTUARY with Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P. O. Box 9066, Phoenix 85068.

WEST, Ruth B. Mrs. Ruth B. West, a Tucson resident for the past 12 years, died Monday, September 12, 1994 after a brief illness. The widow of Henry T. West, Ruth was a licensed practical nurse and homemaker. She is survived by her mother, Ellen Collett and two sisters, Rose Parton and Barbara Horter of Cincinnati, Ohio; four sons, Michael and Richard of Tucson, Thomas of Elfrida, AZ and Bill of Gray, KY; two daughters, Ellen Steele and Melissa Jenkins of Boulder City, NV; and nine grandchildren, Sarah, Jennifer, Matthew, Travis, Thomas, Joe, John, Bryan and Amanda. After a Memorial Service in Tucson, Mrs West’s remains will be interred in her native state of Kentucky.

WHEELIN, Margery, 78, a resident of Tucson, died Sunday, September 11, 1994. Mrs. Wheelin is survived by husband, James John Wheelin; son, James Jr. and wife, Bonnie of Benson; daughters, Mrs. Jean Anne Miller and husband, Thomas of Benson, Mrs. Dorothy Charlotte McClure and husband, Patrick of Tucson; brother, Lawrence Gray and wife, Lois of Orem, UT; sister, Dorothy Jean Clawson and husband, George of Provo, UT. There are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wheelin was a member of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees Inc. Visitation will be Thursday, September 15, 1994 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Funeral Service will be Friday, September 16, 1994, 10:00 a.m., at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, with burial at South Lawn Cemetery.

WILSON, Carl, of Tucson, formerly of Parkersburg, West Virginia, died September 4, 1994. Born to Walter and Sarah “Nellie’ Wilson. He attended Parkersburg School and graduated from Harrisville W. VA High School; attended Ohio University. Before going into the Air Force, he was co-founder of Wilson Bros Market with brothers, Noel and Dale. Part of his 35 year service in the military was spent in Accounting and Finance. Preceded in death by brother, Ralph Wilson; sister, Opal Bole; grandchild, Robert Hardman. Survived by wife, Eva Stephens Wilson; two daughters, Regina Hardman of Akron, OH; Diane Full of Houston, TX; two brothers, Noel Wilson of Spring Hill, FL; and Dale Wilson of Akron, OH; five grandchildren, Carl Hardman of RI; Shawn Hardman of Akron, OH; Carla Popp of FL; Carolyn Stone of FL; Craig Full of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Service will take place in Ohio at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Carl Wilson’s name to Hospice Veterans Hospital in Tucson, AZ.

WOODS, Levi J., 88, long time resident of Tucson, died Saturday, September 10, 1994. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 1994, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 6150 E. Fairmount. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd.

WOODS, Robert G., 80, of Tucson, died September 10, 1994. Survived by wife, Edwina Woods; daughters, Joyce Currier of Homewood, IL; and Edwina Amorosa of Sherman, CT; grandchildren, Jeffery and Grant Currier of Homewood, IL, Pam Bessinger of Tucson, Todd Currier of Blue Island, IL, Mark Currier of Poplar Grove, IL, Kenneth Radtke of River Ridge, LA, Jessica and Alexandra Amorosa of Sherman, CT; great-grandchildren, Jeffery Jr., Amy and Eric Currier of Homewood, IL, Ian Bessinger of Tucson, Kate and Christopher Radtke of River Ridge, LA, Noah and Dustin Currier of Poplar Grove, IL, Michael and Jonathon Currier of Blue Island, IL, Connor Currier of Park Forest, IL; brother, Ray Woods of Chicago, IL; and sister, Sally Johnson of Lansing, IL. Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 17, 1994, 7:00 p.m., at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL. Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. BALL, Rosamond Louise, 75, of Tucson, died September 14, 1994. Survived by sons, Kenny and Dan, both of Tucson; Robin of Trenton, MO; and Francis of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Callie Hickey of Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ball was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence L.; and son, William. Friends may call Friday, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Road. Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

BRUNS, Pearl M., 92, 50 year resident of Tucson, passed away September 14, 1994. Survived by nephew, H. Lee Smith of Hayward, CA; and his son, Lt. Shawn Smith of Malstrom Air Base, Great Falls, Montana. Former member of Tucson Women’s Club and Elks Auxiliary and bridge groups at Reid Park and the downtown Senior Center. Cryptside Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 16 at South Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to your favorite charity. CORNFIELD, Matilda “Tillie’, 77, born in Philadelphia, and a Tucson resident since 1945, passed away September 14, 1994. Survived by beloved husband, Bernard “Bernie’; son, Michael (Janine), Brea, CA; grandson, Scott; brother, Gilbert Bernstein, Tucson; and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son, Stanley. Tillie was a member of Congregation Anshei Israel and active in the Sisterhood. She was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years. Tillie was also an avid supporter of all Tucson Sports teams. Tillie and Bernie were part of the family business that owned the Yucatan, The Poco Loco, The Cactus Room, and the Third Base for over 30 years. Funeral Services Friday, 2:00 p.m., September 16, 1994, EVERGREEN MORTUARY, with Rabbi Arthur R. Oleisky officiating. Interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Congregation Anshei Israel Section. FAVERTY, Nelleglan, 58, of Kingman, AZ, passed away August 31, 1994. Survived by husband, Rudolph; son, Kenneth Faverty of Chula Vista, CA; daughter, Vicky Mazon of Kingman, AZ; mother, Jenell Newberry of Tucson; and four grandsons.

GRANILLO, Gary C., 30, of Tucson, died Tuesday, September 13, 1994. Mr. Granillo is survived by wife, Frances and expected child. Other survivors include parents, Gilbert and Lucy Granillo; sister, Elisa Gastelum (Rene); brother, Eddie Alvarez (Hope); Johnny Alvarez; Ralph Alvarez; Gilbert Jr. Granillo (Mary Lou), all of Tucson; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Granillo was affiliated with Sunnyside Little League. All-Star Coach, attended Regional Conference. Visitation will be Friday, September 16, 1994, 5:00 p.m. Rosary 7:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave. Mass to be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1220 S 6th Ave, with Burial at South Lawn Cemetery.

KENNEY, Charles D., Lt. Col., U.S. Air Force, Ret., 76, of Tucson, died Tuesday, September 13, 1994. Preceded in death by his wife, Virginia. Survived by his children, Catherine, Sue, Karen, Jo Anne, Michael, Patrick, Kelley, Timothy; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 1994 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL. Interment will follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Memorial donations are requested to the Arizona Cancer Center, Univ. of Arizona Foundation, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson, 85775-2402.

MOORE, Charles A., 58, a native Tucsonan, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 1994. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sally; daughters, Tina (Paul) Case of Macedonia, OH; and Heather of Tucson; son, Charles Jr. of New York, NY; and brothers, Alberto (Gesina), Robert (Francis) Moore, and Henry (Eloisa) Terrazas of Tucson. Also survived by three grandchildren, Leroy, Carolyn, and Lincoln Charles. Charles graduated from the University of Arizona in 1958, and distinguished himself as a Life Insurance Underwriter for Northwestern Mutual Life and an outstanding horseman and “trail boss’. He was a member in good standing at the Mountain Oyster Club and a 28 year member and 1994 President of Los Charros de Tucson. He was regarded as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Charlie had a great sense of humor and he loved the Sonoran Desert. He cared a great deal for others and his kindness will be missed. Memorial Services will be held Friday, September 16, 2:00 p.m., at Casas Adobes Baptist Church, 2131 W. Ina Road, with Pastor Hector Martin officiating. SUNDSTROM, Mae, 82, died September 11, 1994. Mother of Lynn (Leslie) Sundstrom of Tucson and Linda (Thom) Winslow of CA; grandmother of Eric Sundstrom of NM, Tamara Graham of AR, Greg and Bradon Winslow, both of CA; great-grandmother of Tyler Graham of TX. Mrs. Sundstrom was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Sundstrom in February of 1983. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for 20 years. Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 16, 1994 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 241 N. Harrison Rd., with Pastor Curt L. Grube officiating. Interment to follow at TMP, East Lawn. Donations to the Memorial Fund at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 15 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

SWEET, Charles S., 84, formerly a 40-year Tucson resident, passed away September 13, 1994 in Renton, Washington. He was the loving husband of Carol; father of Gail (George) Thorson; and JoAnn Bosben; grandfather of Jeff, Deborah, Steve, Kim, Jill, Mark, Scott; great-grandfather of Nicholas, Benjamin, Justin, Jeff; brother of Wilbur and Wayne Sweet. Services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home, Renton. Memorials may go to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

TOLL, Kathleen, 89, of Tucson, died September 12, 1994. Survived by son, Richard J. Toll, M.D. of Tucson; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by husband, Harry Toll in 1979 and son, Donald E. Toll in 1985. Memorial Services Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Grace St. Paul Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams St., with The Rev. WEISS, Betty Rasmessen, 74, passed away September 11, 1994 in Modesto, CA. She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth (John) Helms of Palos Verdes Estates, CA and Katherin (Larry) Stanley of Modesto, CA; and her brother, Ford Rasmessen of Tucson. Private Services will be held in Modesto, CA.

YOUNG, Marie K., 80, of Tucson, died September 11, 1994. Survived by sons, Jack Potter of Minneapolis, MN; Larry James Potter of Oakley, CA; Jo Ann Potter of Avon, CO; brother, Robert Petersen, Whitewater, WI; two grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the King, with Pastor Judith Stone-Horst officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Capron, IL.
