HOLDER, Nancy Marie, 44, of Tucson, formerly of Seattle, sailed into God’s glory Saturday, September 3, 1994. She is survived by her life partner, Patty Black and daughter, Jennifer Black; parents, George and Loreen Holder of Spokane, WA; brother, Gordon and two nephews of Auburn, WA; her aunt, Renee of HI; her aunt, Ruth of Spokane, WA; and large number of friends in Tucson and Seattle. Nancy was an active member of St. Francis in the Foothills Church and Desert Voices. Her work in human services included ACCM, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross Workshops, and work with the homeless population at the Lutheran Compass Center in Seattle, before moving with her family to Tucson. Visitation will be held at the DESERT ROSE CREMATION and BURIAL, 2750 S. 4th Ave., from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, and 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at St. Francis in the Foothills Church, Swan and River Rd. A Memorial Fund has been established through the RCP Program at St. Francis in the Foothills Church. Arrangements by DESERT ROSE CREMATION and BURIAL.

KAGE, Kelly H., Nee, Hillda Maurine Harper, 53, of Elgin, AZ, died September 7, 1994 in Tucson. Wife of, Merlen Kage of Elgin; mother of, Shannon Taylor; daughter of, Maurine Harper; sister of, Jon Harper; grandmother of, Tracy, Rob and Lindsey Taylor, all of OK. Preceded in death by her father, H.F. “Tex’ Harper. Mrs. Kage was a Business Manager for Sonoita Elementary School District #25. She finished college at East Central University in Ada, OK and moved to Elgin, AZ in December of 1988. Memorial Service 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 1994 at Elgin Community Club in Elgin, AZ, with Rev. Ken Crouett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to Elgin School Library Fund, Elgin, AZ or to the American Diabetic Association, 40 N. Swan, Suite #116, Tucson, 85711. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

KRANZ, Steven, 31, of Tucson, died September 6, 1994. An artist, Mr. Kranz received a bachelors degree from ASU and a masters degree from the U of A. He is survived by mother, Lois Jean Kranz of Lake Wylie, SC; and brother, Scott Kranz of Greensboro, NC. Services to be held in South Carolina. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY.

SWISHER, Roy Weigold, 82, was born July 13, 1912 in Augusta, W. VA, and finished his work on this earth on September 6, 1994. Survived by wife, Dorothy who was his companion for 55 years; daughters, Karen Trivett (Gerald “Doc’) of Carson City, NV, Margaret Larmour (Paul) of Tucson and Royce Ann Myrick (Bill) of Bonita, CA; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; brother, Brooke Swisher of Mar Vista, CA; and sister, Oma Swisher of Tucson. HENNESSY, Marion Anne, age 82, born June 10, 1912, Yonkers, NY, died Wednesday, August 31, 1994. Grew up in Greenwich, CT. Graduated Smith College in 1934 and came to Tucson in 1935 for graduate work in Archaeology at UofA and maintained a lifelong interest in this field. married Edward Hennessy September 18, 1942, in Sacramento, CA and traveled widely while her husband was in the military. Survived by four children, Betsy Hennessy of Pullman, WA, Molly (Milton) Chambers of Tucson, Mike Hennessy of Tucson, and John (Corrinne) Hennessy of Mission Viejo, CA; and ten grandchildren. Mrs. Hennessy was a long term member of Rincon Congregational Church. She maintained a lively interest in business affairs and her grandchildren and was an avid reader. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, at Rincon Congregational Church, 122 N. Craycroft, with burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, at Wolfrey Peace Chapel, 5225 E. Speedway, 881-0338. Family suggest memorials may be made to the Rincon Congregational Church.

JENSEN, Brian R., 21, who is dearly loved by everyone, died on August 30, 1994. A resident of Sahuarita, AZ for 19 1/2 years. Survived by father and mother, Richard D. and Bernice A. Jensen of Sahuarita, AZ; grandmother, Eunice Gist of Welton, AZ; daughter, Devyn Marie Jensen of Sahuarita, AZ; sisters, Jacki Levya (Albert) of Sahuarita, AZ; Tracey Frederick (Aaron) of Sahuarita, AZ; Christy Jensen of Sahuarita, AZ; brother, Louie Gonzales (Lynda) of Sahuarita, AZ; nine nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 3, 1994 at the Sahuarita School District Auditorium, Sahuarita, AZ, 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Henry Wooten officiating. Remembrances may be made to the Green Valley Assistance Services, Inc. (GVAS), P.O. Box 1002, Green Valley, AZ 85622. Funeral arrangements were handled by GREEN VALLEY MORTUARY and MEMORIAL GARDENS.

MILKS, Richard J., Chief MSgt, USAF Ret., 74, died August 27, 1994. Born 1920 in Manchester, SD. He served 30 years in the U.S. Air Force and served in Japan, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Marcella; son, Richie of Tucson; daughters, Richelle (Don) Thompson of Wichita Falls, TX and Darcy (Dan) Miller of Hidden Valley, CA; sisters, Mary Clemo of Long Beach, CA, Dorothy (Tony) Hillstead of Grayson, LA and Beverly Meighen of Redondo Beach, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the Parkinsons Association or to the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders. Special thanks to the staff, nurses and wonderful caretakers at the Villa Campana Nursing Home. Mass will be offered at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco, with Full Military Honors by DMAFB with interment to follow at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery. Scripture Service 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, and friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 Friday, September 2 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

SHIELDS, Willard Holt, a 71 year resident of Tucson, passed away September 1, 1994 in Tucson. Born August 22, 1922 in Clarksburg, W. Virginia. Preceded in death by son, Willard Jr. Survived by his wife, Elaine; son, Rod (Kathy); granddaughters, Jessica, Erin and Gradi, all of Tucson; sister, Marjorie Chapman of Tucson; brother, Ed Shields of California. A veteran of World War II, 1st Lt. with Arizona BushMasters, 158th Infantry. Active in Boy Scouts for 35 years. Retired as Inspections Supervisor for the City of Tucson. A Graveside Service will be held 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 1994, at SOUTH LAWN CEMETERY, 5401 S. Park Ave., with Dr, John Blackwell of First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY. In lieu of flowers, scholarships to Pine Canyon United Methodist Camp, in care of Clarence Newell, 328 E. Bilby, Tucson, AZ 85706.

TOTH, Irma P., 81, of Tucson, died Wednesday, August 31, 1994. Survived by husband, John of Tucson; daughter, Deborah Anne (Joseph) Ponce of Pleasanton, TX; brother, Howard (Marge) Goodwin of IL; brothers-in-law, George and Paul Toth of Tucson; sister-in-law, Helen Montesion of FL; four grandchildren, Lisa, Teresa, Vincente and Victoria. Mr. and Mrs. Toth owned and operated Arizona Driving School for many years. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. BESS, Larry A., 44, born November 25, 1949, of Cereda, West Virginia and formerly of Tucson, went to be with the Lord on August 31, 1994 after a long illness. He is survived in Tucson by his sons, Joel A. and Andrew G. Bess. Memorial Services will be held at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 8240 E. 22nd St., Saturday, September 3, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice, Cereda, West Virginia 25507.

HALL, Rollie Nathan, 88, of Tucson, Arizona, returned to God August 30, 1994 after an extended illness. Rollie is survived by his devoted wife, Ruth of Tucson; and a son, Richard D. of San Francisco. He leaves three grandsons, Richard, Gregory, and Matthew; and several great-grandchildren. Rollie was born in Neoshom, Missouri; spent his childhood and young adult life near Galena, Kansas. He was a home builder in Tucson and a farmer in Elfrida, Arizona for many years. Services were private. Interment will be in Seneca, Missouri. Local arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

HOWARD, Jamie David, 22, of Tucson, died August 28, 1994. Survived by mother, Flora E. Howard of Tucson; grandparents, John and Helen Waugaman and Trudy Clayton, all of Tucson; sisters, Tamara Lynn Howard of Tucson and Carolyn Bowman-Smith of Detroit, MI; brothers, Calvin C. Howard III, Michael Clayton, Vincent Clayton and Steve Clayton, all of CA. Funeral Services Saturday, 2:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY, with Pastor Elwood J. McDowell officiating. KESTLER, Jewel, 86, of Tucson, passed away August 31, 1994. Survived by her son, Richard Kestler of Tucson; grandchildren, Aharon Kestler of Albany, NY; and Edward Kestler of Tucson; great-grandchildren, Auraham Nachum, Mechial, Quinn and Aurora; brother, George Van Prahg of FL; Mrs. Kestler was a 70 year resident of Richmond Hill, Queens, NY before moving to Tucson. Services and interment will be held in Queens, NY on September 2. Memorials may be made to the Kestler Family Memorial Fund for Yaqui children, c/o Arts Genesis, 1311 E Duke Dr, Tucson, AZ 85719 or to one’s favorite charity. KLOTZMAN, Michael J., 47, died August 30, 1994. Survived by his parents, Dave and Cecile Klotzman; brother, Gary Frank Klotzman of NY; aunts, uncles, cousins from Alabama, Texas, and Pennsylvania; and many, many friends also survive. LEIDNER, Otto Herman, 79, born August 16, 1915 in Springfield, IL, died August 30, 1994. Survived by wife, Evelyn M. Leidner; son, Walter D. (Roxie) Leidner; daughters, Rita K. (Robert) Wiley and Linda L. Leidner; grandchildren, Casey Leidner, Kellie (Jon) Chicci, Stephanie (Raymond) Kempf, Martin O. Leidner, Christopher Wiley, Sun-Ae Wiley, Bryan Wiley, Lea Wiley, Jenna Wiley, Kari Wiley; great-granddaughter, Kimberly Wiley. Otto moved to Tucson in February, 1955 from Farmington, Minnesota. He was employed at Arizona Machinery and at Empire Machinery until his retirement in 1980. He traveled extensively after retirement and enjoyed the grandchildren. Memorial Service Saturday, September 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd and Swan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. Otto will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

LUPTON, Ottis R., 88, died August 30, 1994, and is now celebrating life with his Heavenly Father. He died after a long illness with his wife and children by his side. Survived by his wife, Jessie, with whom he shared 64 years. He will be missed by his children, Betty Jean (Don) Wine; Gayle Philbrick; and Ronald (Donna) Lupton; also many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; family and friends. MERITT, Thelma Graham, passed away August 31, 1994. She had moved to Tucson from Mexico, Missouri in 1985. She is survived by her beloved husband, James C. Meritt; a daughter, Ellen; son, James Joseph; and three grandchildren. Private Graveside Services will be held at East Lawn Cemetery.
