Survived by his beloved wife, Assunta; son, Vincenzo and wife Maria Stella and granddaughter, Elisa; sons, Franco and Giuseppe; brother, Cosmo (Anna) Ali and family; sister, Amelia (Uyo) Tassone and family, of Montreal, Canada; sister, Amalia (Giuseppe) Cavallaro and family, also of Montreal; sister, Assunta Tassone and family; sister, Angelina Pittella and family; also father and mother-in-law, Giuseppe and Antonietta Demasi; sister-in-law, Rose (Attilio) Demasi and family; brother-in-law, Cosmo (Flaminia) Demasi and family; uncles, Bino (Ida) Bini, Gabriede (Pompea) Barillari and family; he is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins in Italy and Australia. ANDERSON, Lucylle F., age 86, passed away May 20, 1994. Of Tucson, formerly of South Bend, IN. Survived by her daughters, Gloria L. Warner and Kay Harris, both of Tucson; sister of Betty Schreiner, of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Desert Skies United Methodist Church. Memorial Services will be conducted Tuesday, May 24, 1994 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Lori Martin-Dewitt officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations may be made to the Desert Skies United Methodist Memorial Garden Fund, 3255 N. Houghton Road, Tucson, AZ. BACCHUS, Reggie T., 80, of Tucson, died May 21, 1994. Survived by son, Tim (Barbara) Bacchus; grandson, Steven Bacchus; granddaughters, Kathy and Terry Bacchus; sisters, Virginia Hall and Dale Percey. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Road. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

BECK, Leo John, 92, of Tucson, died May 20, 1994. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Isabel; children, Leo Jr., of Wyoming, Bill, of Pomona, CA, Fred, of San Clemente, CA, Jean Papac, of NV, Barbara Chandler, TX, John Beck, CA and Guadalupe Woodson, of Flagstaff; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; also in CA, three sisters, Lucille Walton, Margaret Faull and Betty Keyes; and two brothers, Joseph and Paul Beck. Mr. Beck was born in Iowa but moved to California at an early age. He was the fifth of 14 children. His family settled in Pomona where he attended parochial school, completing the tenth grade. As a youth, Leo was active in the Boy Scouts and participated in many different organizations in Chino, CA. Mr. Beck was also quite active in the Catholic Church and Rotary Club in AZ and CA. In 1927 he was a member of the City Council in Chino, CA. Leo has been a South Tucson resident for over 30 years where he had been a butcher and at one time owned his own business. History was of great interest to Mr. Beck, and in his lifetime he saw many historical changes. Memorial Services were held Sunday, May 22, 1994. Cremation will follow. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd.

BROPHY, Timothy G., 37, died May 19. Survived by his wife, AnnaMarie Simpson; mother, Ruth, of OR; brothers, Joseph Brophy, of Tucson, David Brophy, of PA; sister, Anna Maria Dill, of OR; aunt-sister, Anna Maria Karrenbauer, of PA; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. GERHART, Elda V., 94, of Tucson, died May 19, 1994. Survived by children, Elizabeth Anderson (Frank) of Brownsville, TX and Mason Gerhart, Jr. (Dorothy) of Dover, PA; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in Arizona. Born in Melvin, IL, the daughter of Matt and Charlotte Wachter, she moved to Tucson with her family in 1915. In 1919 she married Mason Gerhart who died in 1977. Graveside Services for Mrs. Gerhart will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

HALSTEAD, Earl Wayne Sr., 74, of Machesney, IL, formerly of Tucson, died Friday, May 20, 1994. Survived by wife, Elizabeth; three sons, Earl Jr., of CA, Peter (Michel), of AL, Ronald, of AZ; three daughters, Madeline Truman and Irene (Michael) Lanier, of AZ, Lillian (Robert) Lincoln, of GA; two brothers, George (Marge), of MI, Hubert, of NC; two sisters, Violet Navarette, of AZ, Treva Schlund, of WA. Earl was a WWII Army Veteran and was employed as a supervisor for the V.A. Hospital in Tucson for 34 years. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. HARMS, Iona, Lyric Soprano and Voice Teacher, died after a long illness in Tucson on Friday, May 20, 1994. She was born in Ashland, KS, December 13, 1909. Daughter of Frank and Gertrude Canton Mull. Early in her singing career she was featured on National Radio from Chicago. She also appeared as soloist with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Rudolph Ganz in Carnegie Hall, Townhall and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, The New York Singing Teachers Association and the New Jersey Singing Teachers Association. She maintained studios in New York City and Englewood, NJ. She founded and directed the Virginia Chorale in the early ’50's. Comprised of 16 of her young women students, the Chorale appeared during the Korean War at the U.S.O., U.S. Army batteries and V.A. Hospitals Stateside, as well as in concert in New York and on radio. Iona Harms also held the post of Director of Music at Lenox School for Girls, New York City for a number of years. Iona is survived by her sister, Frances Cushing, of Tucson; her brother, Frank Mull of Wichita, KS; nephews and nieces. The family suggest that if friends desire donations may be made in her memory to the John Harms Center for the Arts, N. Van Brunt Street, Englewood, NJ, 07631 or the Bagaduce Music Lending Library, Greene’s Hill, Blue Hill, Maine 04614. A memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 1994 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

JACOBUS, Frederick P., 83, of Tucson, passed away May 19, 1994. Survived by his wife, Elsie; step-daughters, Dr. Barbara Armstrong, of CA, Peggy (Al) Gilbert, of NJ; two grandchildren, Lisa and Matthew. A member of Shrine Sabar Temple of Tucson and Epes Randolf Masonic Lodge 32. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 750 W. Chapala with Reverend Dr. Joe Bettridge officiating. Inurnment will be in Nutley, NJ at a later date. LAMBERT, Mildred D., 46, of Oracle, AZ, passed away May 21, 1994. Survived by her husband, James; sons, James D., of CA, Michael J., of Oracle; mother Emaloid Petty; father, Everett; and step-mother, Rita Petty, of Mammoth, AZ; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Heins, of N.C.; one sister, Brenda, of Tucson. BOYD, Robert S. Sr., 60, died May 17, 1994. Survived by his son, Robert S. Boyd Jr.; and daughters, Lari Brauchle and Danna Smith, all of MS; one sister; and two grandchildren also survive.
