MCCLAIN, Walter Myrl “Walt’, born January 14, 1953 in Santa Rita, NM, died June 1, 1994 in Long Beach, CA. Survived by daughters, June and Corrinne; parents, Charles and June; brother, Patrick (Eileen); and sister, Charlyn (Donald) Newman. Attended schools in Tucson, graduating from Catalina High School. May he rest in peace.

MUNOZ, Ruben M., 45, of Tucson, passed away June 5, 1994. Survived by father, Jesus Munoz; daughters, Yvette Yslaya and Leah Munoz; sons, Ronnie Munoz; sisters, Gloria Valenzuela, Yolanda Ochoa, Mary Leon, Margaret Munoz, Nellie Tapia (deceased); brothers, Gilbert Munoz, Frank Munoz, George Munoz, Leo Munoz, James Munoz, Tony Munoz (deceased); two grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 1994 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, South Chapel, 240 S. Stone Avenue, with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Friday, June 10, 1994, 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery. TATEM, Maria Santos, 73, died June 6, 1994. Wife of the late Clifford Tatem; mother of Manuel H. (Lupita) Castro, Maria C. (Ruben) Dominquez, Francisco A. Castro, Graciela C. (Moses) Barreras, Rosa Elena (Johnny) Sardina, Rosario C. (Jose) Vasquez, Karl (Rena) Tatem, Howard (Sally) Tatem, Calvin (Linda) Tatem and Betty (Ben) Bodily; mother-in-law of Elvira Castro; sister of Delfino, Leandro, Francisco, Miguel and Daniel Hernandez and Trinidad H. Estrella; 38 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Tatem was preceded in death by her son, Enrique H. Castro. HAROLD, Dorotha, 78, of Tucson, died Monday, June 6, 1994. Survived by two sons, Terry (Donna) of Tucson and Jerry (Gerrie) of Gillham, AR; brother, Lee Slankard of Guthrie, OK; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 1972. She was a long-time member of Eastern Star, Arizona Chapter #2 and the Ft. Lowell Homemakers. Pauline Foster Harrington Native Arizona Educator, August 7, 1911 – June 2, 1994. Pauline was born Monday, August 7, 1911 in Safford, Arizona Territory to a pioneer family. Her father, Jesse Foster ran early Mexico and Arizona mining concessions while her mother Mae Dowdle Foster Davidson raised Pauline and her two sisters in some very diverse locations. Pauline’s earliest days were spent in Mexico’s Sierra Madre Mountains where her father ran a commissary at the El Tigre Mine near Cananea in the State of Sonora Mexico. The Foster family was forced to move to Verde, Arizona in 1916 due to some close encounters with forces fighting the Mexican Revolution. Pauline attended Cottonwood Grade School and graduated from Clemenceau Junior High School on May 22, 1925. In 1926 the family moved to Los Angles, California where she graduated from Manual Arts High School on June 28, 1928. Pauline then attended the University of Southern California and took her degree in Elementary Education and Music in 1933. At the age of 22 years on September 1, 1933 she received her Arizona Teachers Certificate and began a 44 year career in Arizona teaching. Pauline’s first teaching position, was in 1933 with the Cottonwood and Clemenceau School District where she originally attended school. She taught there through 1938 and married at the end of the school term in June, 1938. Pauline had two daughters and taught at various schools in Arizona and California from 1938 through 1949. In 1950 the family moved to Tucson where she joined the Amphitheater School District and taught at local schools through her retirement in 1977. Pauline was involved in Education Politics since 1933 but it was not until the late 1950's that she held an elected office in that area. She was elected President of the Amphi Classroom Teachers Association in 1959, Vice-President and then President of the Arizona Education Association in 1961 and 1962. After retirement from teaching Pauline almost started a second career in the Politics of Education. In the late 1970's she would drive to Phoenix on a daily basis to advise various legislative sub-committees with regard to education issues. In 1978 she received the Community Service Award from the American Association of Retired Persons which was presented by Governor Rose Mofford. In the early 1980's she finally took time to do some traveling and visited Europe and Africa. Always an avid sports fan, USC her old alma mater was her favorite. Her interest in music played a large part in her life. In 1932 she was chosen for the 10th Olympic Games Chorus held in Los Angles and twenty years later in the 1950's she sang in Tucson Symphony musical productions. She has also always maintained her status as member of XI Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. Pauline passed away of natural causes, Thursday, June 2, 1994 at her residence in Tucson, she was 82 years of age. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 1994 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Avenue (742-7901). Pauline is survived by two daughters, Kathie Harrington of Tucson and Patricia Jacobs of Manhattan Beach, CA; and two grandchildren. O’BRINE, Hattie Lou, 91, of Tucson, died Sunday, June 5, 1994. Survived by children, Dorothy De Long of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ruth (Bernard) Briles of Tucson, Betty Jean O’Brine of Tucson, Dale (Sue) O’Brine of Cedar Rapids, IA; daughter-in-law, Libbie O’Brine of Tucson; 12 grandchildren including Kenneth O’Brine of Tucson; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Clifford in 1977 and her son Malvin O’Brine in 1989. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Mother of Carol (Richard) Longenbaugh of CA and Bruce (Alicia) Basemann of Tucson; grandmother of Eric (Robin) Longenbaugh, Leslie Longenbaugh, Kurt Longenbaugh, Tamarra (John) Devine, Allison Johnston, Stephanie Johnston and Dale Basemann; three great-grandchildren also survive. DUNKEL, Martha B., 95, passed away peacefully May 23, 1994. Survived by two sisters, Gertrude Schuler and Marguerite Diaz of MI, two daughters, Barbara (Dick) Shugg of Sarasota, FL and Jane (Jack) Chilcott of Tucson; three sons, James B. (Shirley) of NC, Jack (Elaine) of MI and Charles of CA; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Burial was in Holy Sepulcre, Detroit, MI.

GREEN, Griswold Kellogg, 84, of Green Valley, died June 1, 1994 in a Tucson hospital. A native of Troy, New York and resident of Arizona for the past 54 years. Mr. Green was a movie and T.V. actor as well as a composer. He is survived by many friends in Arizona and New York, including a sister-in-law, Annie Hempel of New York City. ROINESTAD, Andrew, a resident of Tucson for 45 years, died May 31, 1994 in Tucson at the age of 92. Born April 30, 1902 in Norway. Survived by his son, Frank Andrew (Ines) Roinestad; two granddaughters, Christine and Kim; pre-deceased by his wife, Emma.
