URQUIDES, Maria L., 85, of Tucson, passed away on June 16, 1994. Survived by sisters-in-law, Emelia, Eva and Josephine; also survived by nephews, Frank and Larry, of Tucson; and Eddie of Union City, CA; nieces, Dolores Pantoja, of Freemont, CA, Mary Alice Battle, of Tucson; and Mary Lou Welch, of Walnut Creek, CA; and nine grandnieces; and five grandnephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 1994 at SS Peter and Paul Church, 1946 E. Lee Street from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Wednesday, at 9:00 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Church. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3555 N. Oracle Road. Ms. Urquides received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Arizona. Family request that those so wishing to make contributions may do so to the P.C.C. Hispanic Student Endowment Fund, P.C.C. Foundation, 4907 E. Broadway, 85709.

WATSON, Gordon G., 58, of Tucson, passed away on June 18, 1994. Preceded in death by brother, Jesse Watson. Survived by wife, Shirley M. Watson; sons, Gordon K. (Mary) Watson, M.D., Corey C. (Heidi) Watson, Steven W. Watson; sisters, Arline Watson, Rita Barr; brothers, Everett (Pat) Watson, Murl (Doris) Watson, Floyd (Mildred) Watson; also survived by one grandchild, Matthew C. Watson. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 1994 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 1220 W. Magee Road with Pastor Rick Mensing officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Watson was employed at Hughes Missile Systems Group for 25 years most recently as a Operations Manager. Arrangements by TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

DEAHL, Charles Durward, born in Martinsville, IL, September 25, 1909 to Sam and Ellen Dehl Deahl. Moved to Tucson, AZ in 1944 as a carpenter and building contractor. He was married to Reba Shaffner who preceded him in death in 1988 and a son that died in infancy. He was a member of Del Norte Baptist Church and formerly a member of the First Baptist Church of Tucson. An active member of the Optimist Club and a square dance group. He is survived by several nieces and nephews in Las Vegas, NV, Indiana and Illinois. Graveside services will be 9:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 1994 with visitation one hour prior at the gravesite at EAST LAWN PALMS CEMETERY, 5801 E. Grant Rd.

HALE, HERBERT, 29, of Tucson, died Thursday June 9, 1994. Survived by mother, Gloria Candage; grandmother, Mildred Wright, both of Maine; foster mother, Ida Hale; foster brother, Charles (Chuck) Hale, both of Tucson. He was a member of the Tucson Computer Society. Herbie was always there for his friends and was always happy with his life. Memorial services will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), on Friday, June 24, 1994 at 7:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in Danville, IL. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

KRUG, David Phillip, 44, died Thursday, June 16, 1994. David was a long term survivor of the disease Aids. He was an active advocate for human rights with a special focus on gay and lesbian issues. David was a public speaker and political activist on the issues of Aids treatment and education. David also helped to establish some the the first health care for the gay and lesbian community. David is survived by long time companion, Michael A. Dolores, friends and family. Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 30, 1994 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Frances in the Foothills Methodist Church, River Rd and Swan. David requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Food For Life, %Pact, 801 W. Congress, Tucson, 85745 or to TMC Hospice. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

McCRAREN, Kathryn F., of Tucson, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 1994. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Beckman; and brother, Clarence Beckman. Mrs. McCraren is survived by her husband, Joseph P.; sons, Larry (Norie) of Tucson; and Joe, Jr. (Liza) of West Virginia; brother, John Beckman; and sister, Ione Patterson, both of IL; grandchildren, Peter, Kathryn, Kathleen, Ron, Sean, and Mike; great-grandchildren, Katie and Andre. Mrs. McCraren was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Interment will be in Kenosha, WI, with a private memorial. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

OSOLLO, Amanda E., 81, of Tucson, passed away June 16, 1994. Survived by husband, Samuel B. Osollo; daughters, Carmen (Al) Gillette, Cecilia (Frank) Garcia, Grace (Joe) Quihuis, and Adriana (Carlos) Rodriguez; sons, Samuel Jr. (Georgina), Gilbert (Luisa), Daniel (Rosie), Edward (Mary), and David Osollo; sisters, Frances Lopez, Susana Calistro and Angie Padrez; brothers, Placido and Carlos Estrada; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 19, 1994 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, June 20, 1994, 8:30 a.m., at St. Augustine Cathedral. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery. ROBLES, Raymond M., 71, former Tucson resident, passed away May 26, 1994 at his home in Hawthorne, CA. Survived by wife of 51 years, Jo of Hawthorne, CA; daughter, Darlene of Gardena, CA; son, Carl of Hawthorne, CA; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Salvador of Tucson and Oscar of Hawthorne, CA; six sisters, Lucy Turk of Chula Vista, CA, Peggy Wimberly of Dallas, TX, Emily Romero of Glendora, CA, Carmen Valdez of Tucson, Fresia Robles of Tucson, Dora Flores of Tucson; mother-in-law, Julia Burt of Gardena, CA; many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mr. Robles was a WWII Army Veteran, employed by his wife’s father, “Pepper Carpenter’ in a garbage disposal business, loved deep sea fishing and was a fisherman at heart. Raymond will be missed by all his family and friends.

SPITZ, Helen, 82, died June 16, 1994. Survived by her daughter, Marlene Spitz; sister, Mary Samonsky of N.J.; grandchildren, Douglas Spitz and Valerie (Patrick) Galello. Mrs. Spitz was preceded in death by her husband, John E. and son, John A. Spitz. Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21 at St. Frances De Sails Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco with entombment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 20 and friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 20 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

CRAWFORD, Charles “Ray’, 59, died Tuesday, May 17, 1994. Survived by wife, Ruth of Tucson; son, Barron R. Crawford (Connie) of MO, Rene Hassman (Dan) of Tucson; grandchildren, Niki and Timothy Hassman; sister, Mary McNeely; brothers, Herbert L., Tom and David William, Jr. Preceded in death by daughter, Theresa Kay (1968). Ray was a deacon at 22nd Street Baptist Church and had served in the Army/Air Force 24 years. Friends may call 4:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 1994 at the EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m Friday, May 20, 1994 at 22nd Street Baptist Church with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Ray’s name to the 22nd Street Baptist Church.

POSIN, Roger Alan, 53, of Tucson, died May 18, 1994. Survived by wife, Iris J. Posin of Tucson; mother, Lucille Posin of West Palm Beach, FL; son, Brad of Marina del Rey, CA, Jeffrey and Keith Posin, both of Tucson; sister, Suzanne Penny of New York, NY. Services were held Wednesday EVERGREEN MORTUARY with Rabbi Arthur R. Oleisky and Cantor Ivor Lichterman officiating. Interment Congregation Anshei Israel Section, Evergreen Cemetery. BLACKLEDGE, John Wiley, formerly of Tucson, where he owned and operated ABC Trade School. Born September 14, 1911 in Laurel, Mississippi, passed away August 20, 1994 in Dallas, Texas. He is survived by three children from his first marriage, Martha, Trina and Jack; sons from his second marriage, John William Blackledge and wife, Cleta Jo of Richardson, TX, Robert Wiley Blackledge of Plano TX; grandchildren, Bill, Brandy and Brian; sisters, Ardath Hawkins of Clovis NM, Lara Hilton of Laurel MS, Ruth Ates of Jackson MS. FOSTER, Henry Floyd, Jr., 73, of Tucson, passed away August 19, 1994. Survived by daughters, Betty Lois Vanderbilt, Gwendolyn (Robert) Ripley; sons, Floyd (Larenia), David Henry (Lori), Darrel (Claudia) Foster, Vernon (Gail) George; sisters, Jewel Haynie, Lorene Barnes. JAMES, Adelia Means, 90, of St. Joseph, MO, died Sunday, August 21, 1994 at a St. Joseph health care center. Former 31 year resident of Tucson, had employed with the Mardon Company until April 1993, when she returned to MO. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. REINECKE, Mary Lois (Ellingboe), 66, of Tucson, died August 19, 1994. Mrs. Reinecke received her B.S. in Business Administration and Master in Education from the University of Arizona. She taught Business Education at Amphitheater High School for 19 years, and retired as Department Chairwoman. She also was a volunteer instructor in the Literacy Program Adult County Probation Department, and a regular Red Cross blood donor. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Delta Kappa Gamma and Nu Chapter. She is preceded in death by her husband Bruce Edwin Reinecke. She is survived by daughters, Cynthia (William) Harding of Gainesville, FL, and Wendy (Todd) Prynn of Phoenix; grandson, Tanner Andrew Prynn; sisters, Martha Stevenson of CA, Jane (Charles) Reynolds of WA; and brother, Jules (Melinda) of CA. Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, at Christ United Methodist Church, 655 N. Craycroft, with Rev. Paul Caseman officiating. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

ROMEO, Domenico, 70, died May 18, 1994. Survived by his wife, Maria Romeo; children, Carmelo (April) Romeo, Osvaldo “Pietro’(Esperanza) Romeo and George (Susan) Romeo; sisters, Carmela Alfarone, Rosa (Carmelo) Schirripa; brothers, Rocco (Crelia) Romeo, Vincent (Lillian) Romeo and Antonio (Ida) Romeo; grandchildren, Vanessa, Juliana and Dominic. ELLIOTT, Duane M., 66, of Tucson, died Saturday, August 6, 1994. Preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Elliott and his brother William Elliott. Survived by his sons, Jerome M. (Andrea) Elliott of Tucson, Steven A. Elliott of Tucson. He was a loving grandfather to Michael E. Elliott. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post #36. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 1994 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., with Dr. Wayne North officiating. CARPENTER, J. C. CARPENTER, IN LOVING MEMORY. Father of Reese Carpenter (longtime resident of Tucson); and grandfather of Wendy Carpenter (from Tucson, now residing in California). J.C. died at his home in Douglas, Arizona on August 1, 1994. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
