Survived by his wife of 48 years, Fay; son, Craig of Tucson; foster son, Gerald (Marian) Hawley of Waukesha, WI; grandchildren, Christine, Tonya and Michelle; brother, William of MI; sisters, Doris Petty of Peoria, AZ and Betty Groeveld of PA. Mr. Schiek was a US Navy Veteran of WWII, serving from 1941-1945 and a Scout Master, BSA from 1956 to 1966. He was a member of Sabbar Shrine Temple, Bledsoe Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. TOMLINSON, Glade W., 66, resident of Catalina, died June 25, 1994. Survived by wife, Alean of Catalina; sons, Robert B. (Sharon) Tomlinson of Houston, TX, Holley G. Tomlinson; daughters, Laurice D. (Frankie) Ray and Debbi L. (Ron) Le Donne of Tucson; sisters, Dena Bezzant of Pleasant Grove, UT and Sherry Crawford of Holiday, UT; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at Tucson Coronado Ward, 939 W. Chapala, with Bishop Steven Broadbent officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery with Military Honors by Ft. Huachuca Honor Guard. VAYDA, Marie Louise, 69, of Tucson, died Saturday, June 25, 1994. Survived by sisters, Mina Dicky of Dewar, OK and Aline Pellegrin of New Orleans, LA; children, Carl Malone, Gladys Lefler and Carol Fuentes of Tucson; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held at DESERT ROSE CREMATION and BURIAL, 2750 S. 4th Ave., #106, South Tucson on June 29 at 4:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to Carondelet Holy Family Center, 1802 W. WELLMAN, Frederick R., aged 75, of Tucson, died Saturday, June 25, 1994. Preceded in death by wife, June Marie and eight brothers and sisters. Survived by one son, Jack C. (Judy) Wellman of Lubbock, TX; three daughters, Dianne (Ron) Farnsworth and Nancy Wellman, all of Battle Mt., NV, Elaine (Dennis) DeWitt of Elko, NV; wife, Diane Wellman of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Matilda Cook of Tiffan, OH; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 1994 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave., with the Rev. Martin Abraham officiating. Interment following at South Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 5:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. at the Mortuary.

DROTAR, Margaret E., 84, resident of Tucson, died June 26, 1994. Survived by stepdaughter, Ann (Bruce) Kurth of Tucson; brothers-in-law, Joseph C. Drotar of Tucson, Thomas Flaherty of Mesa; niece, Pat Cox of Mesa; nephew, James Flaherty of Thousand Oak, CA; and two grandchildren. Mrs. Drotar was a longtime member of St. Odilia Catholic Church. Mass offered Wednesday, 9:00 a.m., St. Odilia Catholic Church, 7570 N. Paseo del Norte, celebrated by Rev. John Brent Bardon. Interment Holy Hope Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with evening services at 7:00 p.m., at EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile.

GAY, Hazel I., 93, of Tucson, died Monday, June 20, 1994. Survived by many loving family members and friends. Hazel was the past president and life member of Morgan McDermott Unit #7, American Legion Auxiliary, and Chapeau Passe of Pima Salon #164 8/40; also a member of the year 1985-86 of the American Legion Auxiliary Dept. of Arizona. She was well known for her great love of children of our community and longtime volunteer at the V.A. Hospital. Graveside Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 1994 at South Lawn Cemetery with American Legion Auxiliary Unit #7 and Pima Salon #164 of the 8/40. Donations may be made to Children and Youth Program, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #7, 330 W. Franklin St. Tucson, AZ 85701. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. KAGA, Don G., 83, died June 25, 1994. Survived by daughter, Jo (Kittredge) Arnold; son, Dan (Dianna) Kaga, both of IN; seven grandchildren;and true friend and confidant, Aline Massey. Memorial services will be 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, 1994 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with Rev. Ray Plumlee officiating. LAMPARELLI, Sue, 80, a 22 year resident of Tucson, died June 24, 1994. Survived by husband, Anthony George Lamparelli; brothers, Vincent and Bart Didomenico. Funeral Service will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd, followed by one hour visitation. Private burial will be Thursday in East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

BALLARD, Ruth “Tillie’, 71, of Tucson, died August 24, 1994. Ruth was a retired employee of Arizona Bank, and is survived by brother, Roger Ballard of Salem, OR; five nieces and nephews, and many friends. Funeral Service will be held 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., with Rev. Jon Ierley of Catalina United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Palms Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Humane Society of Tucson, 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd., Tucson 85716.

BENDER, Marian W., 89, of Tucson, died Thursday, August 25, 1994. Survived by nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, George A. Bender. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, 4330 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson 85718.

CASTANO, Jose H. “Harry’, age 60, of Tucson, Arizona, died August 26, 1994. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anita; son, Harry Jr. (Maria); and daughters, Beatrice (Arthur) Gonzalez, Lorraine (Daniel) Carrizosa, Carmen (Joaquin) Galvez; and 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, August 29, 1994, at St. Monica’s Church, 212 W. Medina, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday with interment following at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Avenue. GARCIA, Hector B., 32, of Tucson, passed away on August 26, 1994. Survived by parents, Luis and Artemiza Garcia; sisters, Rosie (Gilbert) Flores, Mary (George) Emmerich; brothers, Francisco Garcia M.D., Carlos (Michelle) Garcia, Miguel (Yolanda) Garcia, David (Staci) Garcia, Sergio Garcia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and one godson, Miguel Garcia, Jr. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 1994 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (Center Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave. Mass will be offered on Wednesday, 9:00 a.m., at Santa Cruz Church. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

MOLITOR, Leonard, of Boynton Beach, FL, died August 24, 1994 in Tappahannock, VA while visiting his daughter. He was 79 years of age and was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ryan Molitor. He attended St. John’s University in Minnesota and was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He resided in Tucson during 1993 and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Mr. Molitor was the Branch Manager for Monroe Calculator Company in Fargo, ND from 1955 to 1974. He is survived by his daughters, Marnie Molitor Roberts of Tucson and Alice Molitor King of Fairfax, VA; and five grandchildren, James, Bill and Molly Roberts of Tucson and Amy and Ryan King of VA. Arrangements are thru the Demaine Chapel, 5308 Backlick Rd., Springfield, VA 22151. Graveside Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 30 at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery. The family requests memorials to St. John’s University, The Prior, St. John’s Abby, Collegeville, MN 56321. Local arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

PERRY, Geraldine W., 65, died August 26, 1994. Mother of, Mike (Donna) Perry of Chandler, and Jackie (Gene) McCarty of Picacho Peak; sister of, Barbara Stewart of OH, and John D. Wilson Jr. of FL; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. Memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 1994 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway with Dr. Wayne North officiating.

RYBUS, Edwin L., 73, passed away August 28, 1994. Survived by wife, Mary; daughter, Suzanne (Steven) Dunwell of Sausalito, CA; stepchildren, Susan Cummins of Tucson, Jean Belz of Tyler, TX, Thomas Stoker of Westwood, MA; a sister and brother of Cleveland, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Edwin was born in Cleveland, OH where he resided until retiring to Tucson 16 years ago. At the request of the deceased there will be no funeral service. YOUNGBLOOD, Jennie J., 88, died August 28, 1994. Preceded in death by her husband, Congressman Harold F. Youngblood of the 14 District in Michigan. Loving mother of Anita Leist of Tucson, Joan (Steve) Kosteck of Tucson, Nancy Johnson of Tucson and her fiancee John DeCenzo, Kathleen (Jack) Elleray of Scottsdale; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive; sister of Marie Streit of CA. ROBBINS, Jonathan Hitchcock Hartzell, infant, died June 19, 1994 in Sierra Vista, AZ. Survived by parents, Christopher and Heather Robbins of Ft Huachuca, AZ; paternal grandparents, Wyman and Deborah Robbins of Tucson, AZ; maternal grandmother, Diane F. (Tracy S.) Pruitt of Tucson, AZ; maternal grandfather, John R. Hartzell of PA; uncles, H. Richard Robbins; aunt, Jennifer D. Shaner; and uncle Todd A. Shaner. ROGERS, Lavaun Peterson, age 82, passed away in her Tucson Home on Thursday, June 23, 1994. The granddaughter of northern Arizona pioneers and an actively devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she was born in St. Johns on August 13, 1911. Graduating in Education from Arizona State College in 1932, Mrs. Rogers has been a Tucson resident since that year. She became a teacher at the elementary level for the Sunnyside School District from 1932 to 1937, having been married just earlier to Martin Smith Rogers who became a prominent Tucson attorney for thirty years. Mrs. Rogers in the 1960 and 70s served as president of the Arizona Federation of Women’s Clubs, later sitting on the national board in the General Federation of Clubs. She had previously been president of the Southern District Federation of Women’s Clubs and of the Tucson Women’s Club (1961-62). Mrs. Rogers was a granddaughter of Rachel Emma Allen Berry, the first woman legislator in the State. From 1937 to 1943 she co-owned with her husband the College Store, a combination book store and restaurant at the main entrance to the University of Arizona. An ardent homemaker and patron of the fine arts, she had raised three children who now survive her: Richard M. (Frances Ann) of Kearny, Professor Rie (Rex C.) Mitchell of Calabasas, California, and Robert Karl (Annette) of Scottsdale. There are eight grandchildren surviving, and two sisters, Lanore Kennedy and Donna Blankenship, both of California. Wednesday, June 29, at 10:00 a.m. A church service will be conducted at the El Dorado Ward, 6150 E. Fairmont, in Tucson. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday evening, June 28, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Family members will be present to greet friends. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL.

BEATTY, Constance Kay, 51, of Tucson, died Monday, June 20, 1994. Survived by her husband of 26 years, Mitchell E. of Tucson; sons, Morgan and Brett Beatty, both of Tucson; daughter, Kim Kelly Smith; sister, Sherry Rumble; and mother, Mildred Inlow, all of Greenwood, IN; grandson, Brett Beatty, Jr. also survives. Memorial Services will be held at Sunrise Chapel, 8421 E. Wrightstown Rd, on July 2, 1994 at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Eleanora Thurnell will officiate. Cremation has taken place. BEDOY, Ramona Carpio, 88, of Tucson, passed away June 21, 1994. Preceded in death by her husband, Juan G. Bedoy. Survived by sons, Gildardo C. (Emma) Bedoy, Geraldo C. (Josefina) Bedoy; daughters, Gloria (Salvador) Murrieta, Gudelia (Alejandro) Rabago of California; grandson, Fernando J. Bedoy, Sr.; also survived by 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 1994 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Survived by husband, Ernesto Campas; father, Severiano Martinez, Sr.; daughters, Patricia and Maria Campas; sons, Ernesto, Jr. and Jesus Jose Campas; sisters, Rosamaria Zelaya and Rebecca Zamora; brothers, Severiano Jr. (Maria C.), Ramon C.
