Friedman of Mapleton, UT; by three grandchildren, Alan Mindell of Santa Monica, CA, Jerry Mindell and Paula Halicki of Tucson and by two great-grandchildren, Paul Joseph Mindell of Japan and Rachel Mindell of Tucson. GRAHAM, Rebecca Leanne “Becky’, 36, resident of Mammoth, died June 24, 1994. Survived by sons, Donald James Graham, Bill Wayne Graham; former husband, Donald I. Graham, all of Oracle; parents, Kenneth Wayne and Bonnie Fugett of Mammoth; sisters, Sue Jones, Bonnie Bushey, Denise Bridges; brothers, Robin Wayne Fugett, Dale Fugett and Brian Fugett; great aunt, Pauline Gilliam; cousin, William Garland. Memorial Services Monday, July 4, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. Kingdom Hall, Oracle, with Raul Yubeta officiating. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY.

HRUSKA, Frances N., 75, died June 14, 1994. Survived by husband, John F. Hruska; daughter, Louann (Dan) Mackowiak of IL; grandson, Peter Mackowiak of Tucson; brother, Otto (Monica) Novy of FL. Mrs. Hruska was preceded in death by her son, Jack. She was a member of the El Dorado Hospital Volunteers. ROLLINGS, Forrest Russell, 85, of Oracle, died June 28, 1994. A member of the Teamster’s Union Local #105. Husband of Catherine of Oracle, AZ; father of Doris An Stella of Tucson, Lois Lynn Gardner and Forrest R. Rollings, Jr., both of Rillito, AZ and Connie Lee Lisowski of Columbus, MS; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 1, 1994 at 9:00 a.m. at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL with burial to follow in East Lawn Cemetery. TESCH, Dennis P., 41, of Sacramento, CA passed away June 16, 1994. Survived by his parents, Harvey and Delores Tesch of Tucson; grandparents, Paul and Arvilla Scheiman of Ft. Wayne, IN; also aunts, uncles and cousins in Wisconsin and many friends in Sacramento and Tucson. Mr. Tesch was a member of the U.S. Air Force 1971 thru 1979 and a resident of Sacramento since 1979. Memorial Services will be held Friday, July 1, 1994 at 6:30 p.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY with Pastor Philip A. Koelpin officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. VALDEZ, Julia Cazares, 98, of Tucson, entered into eternal life June 28, 1994. Survived by son, Tony (Mary Helen) Valdez of Tucson; daughters, Sister Mary Julian Valdez, IHM, Consuelo (George) Batinovich, both of Tucson, Alicia (Gren) Allen of Tempe and Julia (Elroy) Voss of Waukesha, WI; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 1994 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Friday, July 1, 1994 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery.Arrangements by TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

WILSON, Mary Margaret, 96, died June 28, 1994. Mother of Jack P. (Anne) Wilson; five granddaughters; and 11 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Service 9:00 a.m. Friday, July 1 at BRING’S MEMORIAL CHAPEL with Dr. Leland Scott officiating. Burial in Tucson Memorial Park, South Lawn. DIX, Susan M., 77, passed away Sunday, June 26, 1994. Born in Wingo, Kentucky and a resident of Tucson since 1971 will be missed by her son, Steve Dix; two grandchildren, Michele Megan and James Stephen Dix. Services will be held in Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

GRYNKEWICH, Dr. Serge, 82, of Tucson, AZ, passed away June 25, 1994. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette L. Grynkewich. He is survived by his children, Surge E. Grynkewich, Jr. of Minila, Philippines, Gary (Magda Ann “Misty’) Grynkewich of Tucson, AZ and Dr. Annette (Mark) Pashayan of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren, Julia Ann and Jeffrey Paul Grynkewich of Tucson, AZ and Charles and Alexander Pashayan of Gainesville, FL; sisters, Mary Malishaucki of Wilmington, DE and Anne Grynkewich of Livingston, NJ. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 1994 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd., (one block North of Grant.) Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 30, 1994 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 9:30 a.m. with entombment to follow at South Lawn Cemetery. KOWALCZYK, Annette H., 78, died June 25, 1994. Mother of Gloria (Richard) Bowen; grandmother of Pamela and John, all of Tucson; cousins also survive in Illinois. Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery. MEENES, Lewis, 81, of Tucson, AZ, passed away June 26, 1994. Survived by children, Ronald (Joyce) Meenes of Farmingham, MA, Dorothy Meenes of Tucson, AZ, Roberta Meenes of Tucson, AZ and Rosalie Barsky of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Scott and Jeffrey Meenes. Services and interment were held in Massachusetts. Family requests any donations be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. Arrangements by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 327-6341.

MERCHANT, Leonard “Jim’, born January 15, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas, died June 26, 1994. Jim was a three branch military veteran and after serving 10 years at Ft. Huachuca he retired to civilian life where he became assistant director at the Tucson Alcoholic Recovery Home where he chose to spend the rest of his life helping others. He also served as the Bingo Manager at TARH for about seven years. Jim was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and he leaves many friends behind who will miss him personally. Memorial Services will be held at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 1335 S. Swan Rd., Friday, July 1 at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Jim Merchants Memorial Fund at TARH, 1809 E. 23rd St., Tucson, AZ 85713.

PAYNE, Dwight D., 81, a resident of Tucson, died June 26, 1994. Survived by wife, Julia F. Payne; sons, Larry D., James F.; stepson, Cecil M. Massey; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Blanche Morris; brother, Howard P. Payne; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Payne was the owner of Arizona Auto Exchange at 1813 N. Stone and a life member of the Elks Club. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 1 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave., with Rev. Wayne North of Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating. Interment South Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 11:00 a.m. until Service Time at the Mortuary. Remembrances may be made to the Cancer Research Center, c/o University Medical Center.

RICH, Mary Alice B., 64, of Tucson, passed away June 27, 1994. Survived by husband, Michael J. Rich; children, Stephen Lee Rich of IL, Daniel C. Rich of Tucson, Felicia Grace Endick of CA; mother, Genieve Bullen of Tucson; aunts, Connie Flynn of MI, Lois Forbes of FL; brother, Lee Bullen of CO; four grandchildren. Mary Alice received her Master’s Degree in Special Education in 1974 and was a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society and Alpha Xi Delta. Mary Alice was active in the Assistance League of Tucson. After moving to Tucson, Mary Alice became very active in P.E.O. Chapter CV with her mother and daughter including two terms as president. Mary Alice had a passion in life to paint pictures and had many exhibits in Skyline Country Club and Pima Community College. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 30, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell, with Rev. Dr. Roger O. Douglas officiating. In lieu of flowers, family requests remembrances be made to the ALS Association, P. O. Box 85595, Tucson, AZ 85754-5595 or the Pima Community College Foundation, 4907 E. Broadway, Tucson, AZ 85711. WOLFENDEN, Alice E., 91, a resident of Tucson, died June 26, 1994. Alice was born in West Point, Mississippi and graduated from MS State College for Women in 1924. She taught elementary school in MS, TX and AZ and taught for TUSD for 43 years, retiring in 1968. She is survived by nieces and one nephew. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 1 at ARIZONA MORTUARY CHAPEL, 7 E. University Blvd. at North Stone, with Rev. Dale Hewitt officiating. Private interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Dallas, TX.

ARNETT, Ruby P., 87, died Sunday, June 26, 1994. Survived by daughter, B. J. Salterberg; grandchildren, William Lee, Randall Craig, Anthony Edward, John Erroll Salterberg and Cynthia Kay Guthrie; great-grandchildren, Ryan Christopher and Jacob Randall Salterberg. Ruby was manager of the Cafeteria at Evans Jr. High School, Ottumwa, Iowa and had been honored with the best kitchen in the State of Iowa. Funeral Services will be held 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 1994 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Burial will be in Macon, MO.

ELIAS, Angel Joe, 74, died 26 June 1994. Survived by wife, Pearl K.; daughters, Michelle (Byron) McKinney; son, Richard (Kim) Elias; grandson, Jordan G. McKinney; granddaughter, Ashley R. Waldorf; loving family, Patti Salonic; daughters, Celina and Katie Cubillas; sister, Dolores Greer. Veteran of WWII, belonged to American Legion Post #7, South Tucson Lions, Elks #385 and The Navy League of the United States. LAMPARELLI, Sue, 80, a 22 year resident of Tucson, died June 24, 1994. Survived by husband, Anthony George Lamparelli; brothers, Vincent and Bart Didomenico. Survived by husband, Dick; sons, Richard (Eileen), of Riverside, CA and David (Deborah), of Niskyuna, NY; daughter, Mary (Bob) Stewart, of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Jonathan, Timothy, Donna, Kuchar, Sheryl, Caitlin and James. PALOMINO, Maria Esther E., 80, passed away June 25, 1994. Survived by husband, Thomas Palomino; daughters, Ruth Casillas, Angela (Ramon) Toledo, Hope Cota, Jessie (David) Pallanes, Rosa (Felipe) Lujan; sons, Albert (June) Cota, Ramon (Maria) Cota, Raul (Lydia) Cota, Ignacio (Angie) Cota, Luis (Consuelo) Cota; sisters, Jessie Rangel of CA, Aurora Hernandez of of Tucson; brother, Benito Estrada of Yuma, 46 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28 SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave., from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s the Apostle Church. Interment at South Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Palomino was a native of Tucson.
