RHODES, William H., 81, of Tucson, died July 5, 1994. He is survived by wife, Catherine (Sosnicki) Rhodes; children, William C. (Renee) Rhodes, of Seaford, NY, Robert D. (Kathleen) Rhodes, of Malabar, FL, Joan M. (Robert) Pascocello, of Yorktown Heights, NY; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Hamilton, of Middletown, NJ; sister, Cecilia Rohan, of Sun City Center, FL; He will also be missed by his “second family’ of seven children; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He retired to Tucson after many years as an engineer for the New York City Transit Authority. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 6 at 12:00 noon at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. RUSS, Robert H., 54, died July 1, 1994 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Cris; a son, Gary Russ of Leavenworth, KS; a daughter, Cyntheia Dawson of El Cajon, CA; and three grandchildren. Bob was born in Richmond, VA and moved to Tucson in 1970. He was treasurer of Diversified Design and Construction Co., Inc. He served as S/Sgt. in the U.S. Marines in Vietnam and was an enthusiastic water skier and wind surfer. An informal celebration of life for family and friends will be held July 7 at 4:00 p.m. at Oro Valley United Church, 1401 E. El Conquistador, to honor his memory and mark his passing. ANDREWS, Floyd L., 80, went to live with his friend Jesus on June 28, 1994. Born in Berkshire, New York February 16, 1914 and moved to Tucson in 1935 where he worked at Davis Monthan Air Force Base from 1960. He enjoyed church activities and most recently was active at First Baptist Church. Mr. Andrews is survived by his loving family: wife, Lynn; brother, C. Luther Andrews of Maine; sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Bill Davidge of Virginia; children, Margie and Milton Monselle, Carol Andrews, Bob and Diane Andrews; grandchildren, Martha Monselle and Peter, Rebekah, Elizabeth and Nathan Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 1994 at First Baptist Church, Sleeth Chapel, 215 E. 5th St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
BLACKMORE, James S., 85, died Tuesday, June 28, 1994. Survived by wife, Alice; daughter, Carol (Ken) Meenan; son, Fred H. WARD, Michael Ross, 34, a Computer Systems Engineer, died Monday, June 27, 1994 in Florida. He passed away by natural causes en route to his new assignment in Phoenix from his previous work assignment with EDS in Florida. Mike graduated from Willcox High School in 1978, and was employed at EDS as a Computer Systems Engineer since 1988. Survived by parents, Hershel and Leta Ward of Green Valley, AZ; two brothers, Jay and HyonHee Ward of CA; Ben and Rita Ward of Tucson; one sister, Sara and John DeConcini of Tucson; three nieces, Aurora, Anna, Rebecca; two nephews, Bret and Keith. RISSLER, Lee, 80, of Tucson, passed away August 17, 1994. Born March 9, 1914. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Reba. LUTZ, Edward E., Sr., 83, died June 26, 1994. Survived by his wife, Betty; and three children, Connie Walbridge of East Dennis, Cape Cod, MA, Edward E. Lutz, Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ, Adam (Nick) Lutz II of Mesa, AZ; and by a sister, Sally Gerding of Lutz, FL. There are three grandchildren. A second generation funeral director from Sandusky, Ohio, Mr. Lutz had resided in Tucson for the past 34 years and until his retirement was associated with Arizona Mortuary. MEYERS, Charles G., 98, of Tucson, died June 29, 1994. Predeceased by his wife, Mildred Clewell Meyers in 1989. Survived by daughter, Shirley (Douglas) Hamilton of Tucson; grandsons, Scott, Robert and Susan; and three great-grandchildren. Charles was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1895; he subsequently settled in Canton, OH where he was a General Supervisor at the Timken Roller Bearing Co. until his retirement in 1965. Charles was an exceptionally responsible and caring man. He will be remembered with deep affection by his family and friends. Private Services are planned. Ernest N. Quijada, Sr., 86, passed away June 29, 1994 at his home of 61 years whom he shared with his late wife, Rita of 42 years and where he raised a family of five. Preceded in death by son, Ernest Quijada, Jr. Survived by daughters, Dora (Joe) Cruz of Tucson, Betty (Harold) Jones of Tucson, Nancy (William) Snell of CA, Molly (Abe) Maldonado of Tucson; daughter-in-law, Carmen Quijada; also survived by 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He attended the School for the Deaf and Blind because of his hearing impairment. Both he and his wife were very active with the Tucson Association for the Deaf and at one time held the post of president of this organization. He is a retiree of Hughes Aircraft Co. after service of 22 years, where he also was very active with the Deaf Club of the Hughes Employees Assoc. of Tucson (H.E.A.T.). Our memories of our father was his love of fishing (with his friend) and the love for his family. We now feel in our hearts that our father is now reunited with our mother and brother. WALKER, Ina M., 91, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 1994 at Tucson Medical Center. Born in Zanesville, Ohio. She moved to Tucson with her husband, Arthur H. Walker in 1938. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a son, Richard A. Walker. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Stevenson and Mrs. Eleanor Fowble, both of Tucson; seven grandchildren, Joan Fabiano of Del Mar, CA, Vicki Troyer of Somersworth, NH, Jeff Stevenson of Kirkland, WA, Lynn Fowble of Tucson, Beth Elliot of Albuquerque, NM, Brett Fowble of Denver, CO, Wayne Walker of Colorado Springs, CO; and four great-grandchildren, Connor, Samantha, Mellisa and Shelby. CHRABOT, Harry C., Major USA, Ret., 82, died June 28, 1994. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Gertrude Chrabot; daughter, Lynn Wilbur of St. Louis; brother, John Chrabot of Seattle, WA; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was a member of the Military Order of World War, served in the European Theater and a member of St. Cyril’s Catholic Church.
