CAMPBELL, Deane, 73, died July 1, 1994. Survived by brothers, Clayborne (Virginia) Campbell of West Virginia, Eugene (Jean) of Tucson; sister, Ellen (Jim) Eversole of Indiana; five nieces and one nephew. Mr. Campbell was born in Confluence, Kentucky. He later lived in Indiana before moving to Tucson in 1947. He worked twenty-six years for T.U.S.D.’s Maintenance Department. FITZHARRIS, Frances Mailene, 86, of North Haskell, Tucson, died Saturday morning, July 2, 1994 at St. Mary’s Inpatient Hospice following a brief illness. She was born June 23, 1908 in Randolph County, Indiana and had lived in Hagerstown, Indiana and Dayton, Ohio before moving to Tucson in 1980. She is the widow of Arthur Fitzharris who died in 1947. She is survived by one daughter, Monica Ann DeHart of Tucson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Johnson and Thelma Ellis, both of Hagerstown, Indiana; nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7, in West Lawn Cemetery at Hagerstown, Indiana with Rev. Robert Fannin officiating. GEBHART, Clarence Cline, departed this life for the next on July 5, 1994. He was 76 years old. A native of Washington County, OH, he had lived in Tucson for 42 years. Clarence was a master stone cutter and brick mason and developed methods of building with precast concrete. He leaves behind many fine buildings, large and small, which have graced the Tucson and Arizona landscape and are a testimony to his craftsmanship in their beauty and durability. He was especially proud of the work done on the cut stone wall of Paulin Motor Co., now Don Mackey Oldsmobile and Cadillac on Broadway, the U of A dormitory at Park and 4th, the girls gymnasium at Rincon High School, restoration work on the Shrine of Santa Rita at Vail and numerous other churches of many faiths throughout the area. An avid, self-taught musician he was an active member of the Southern Arizona Old Time Fiddlers Association. He was also a member of the Arizona Arms Association and National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. Clarence was surrounded by his family and friends in his final days and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary D. Gebhart; two daughters, Susan Lemmon of Virginia Beach, VA and Judith Valenti of W. Haverstraw, NY; and one son, Richard Gebhart of Lawton, OK; he is also survived by his brother, Ernest Gebhart of Columbia, OH; and two sisters, Evelyn Grinstead of Columbus, OH and Esther Purcell of Petersburg, FL; he is survived by seven grandchildren, including Richard Gebhart and Dwayne Gebhart of Tucson and Debbie Gebhart of Marana; and three great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel on July 9 at 10:00 a.m. and will be conducted by Fr. Donald Verhagen. Robert was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose for the past 51 years. He was the Arizona and New Mexico State Director for the Moose and was awarded their highest honor, The Pilgrims Degree, in 1970. He was a member of the Labor Union #479 and was the AFL-CIO Liaison to the United Way. He served his community as a deputy sheriff under Sheriff James Clark, later was promoted to detective. KELLY, Earl, 73, of Tucson, passed away July 3, 1994. Survived by his wife, Pat; children, Mary (Rick) Lowerre of TX and Anne Kelly of Tucson. Mr. Kelly was a principal of Sahuarita High School 1967 until 1983. Upon his retirement the football stadium was named Earl J. Kelly Stadium in his honor. LEWIS, Ferne Kemp, 94, died July 2, 1994. Preceded in death by husband, William Lewis. Survived by daughter, Jo Ann Runyon; granddaughter, Patricia (Doug) Cline; great-grandson, Ben Cline, all of Tucson; grandson, Michael (Carlene) Runyon of San Diego; niece, Marion Clark of Porterville, CA. Ms. Lewis was born in Los Angeles, raised in Willcox, where her father was owner and editor of the Arizona Range News. After graduating from Tempe Normal School in 1920, she returned to Willcox to teach. After her marriage, she moved to California where she lived until the death of her husband. She returned to AZ, completed her B.A. at NAU and taught at Sam Hughes in Tucson for 30 years. She was a member of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church and the Arizona Historical Society. Her ashes will be interred in the St. Mark’s Columbarium. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY.
