Beloved sister of Ethel Kirchner, Eleanor Schecter and Abraham Sorkin; mother of Susan Bart Goodman; grandmother of Aaron Goodman; beloved aunt of Daniel, Thomas, William, Jeanne Kirchner, Bonnie Berlowe and Margaret Lambert. BUGBEE, Ruth J., age 75, a longtime resident of Tucson Estates, died Saturday, May 7, 1994. She is survived by her husband, Homer; son, Michael (Ileana); and daughter, Ellen Hanson (Wayne). Mrs. Bugbee was a loving and devoted person, wife and mother who will be missed and remembered. Interment will be private. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Avenue.

ELLIS, Luella J., 77, of Tucson, died May 7, 1994. She was a native of Arizona being born in Fairbank, AZ and was a Veteran of WWII having served in the Navy. She later received her degree in 1937 from U of A. Ms. Ellis was employed by The Bilby Firm, the Pima County Superior Court System, Judge Carruth and Commissioner Bret Harte. Graveside Services will be Thursday 11:30 a.m. Evergreen Cemetery next to her parents, Will L. and Lillian R. Jones, with Rev. Gregory Wyes of Christ the King Episcopal Church officiating. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile.

EVANS, John J., Born May 13, 1909, died July 8, 1992 and Martha A. Born October 17, 1907, died April 13, 1994. Children, son Jay C. Evans and Daughter Elizabeth Cloud and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m. May 13, 1994 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd.

JOCHIMSEN, Bertha D., born November 6, 1909 in Los Angeles, CA, died May 7, 1994 in Tucson, AZ. Survived by daughter, Gay Jochimsen of Tucson; son, Robert Jochimsen; grandchildren, Donna, Dale and Doug Jochimsen, also Diane Melancon; great-grandchildren, Brian and Mike Melancon and Michelle and Zane Jochimsen, all of SC. Funeral Services were conducted by Wes Grimes at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES Monday 4:30 p.m. May 9. She will be cremated and interned at Inglewood Park in California.

JONES, Maye, 80, of Tucson, died Sunday, May 8, 1994. Born September 30, 1913 in Alex, Arkansas. Survived by daughters, Elizabeth (Harold) Henderson and Millie Crawford, both of Tucson; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 1994. Funeral Services will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, on Friday, May 13, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. Private interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery. MOHR, Richard Frank, 80, of Tucson, died Monday, May 9, 1994. Survived by his wife, Nancy of Tucson; children, Suzanne Mohr of Tucson, Lt. Col. Christopher (Suk Cha) Mohr, U.S.M.C., Ret. of Okinawa, Japan; granddaughter, Antonette Poole of San Diego, CA; and sister, Frances M. Burnstine of Rock Falls, IL. Mr. Mohr retired in 1979 as Executive Vice President of Laidlaw Bros., a Division of Doubleday and Co. At Mr. Mohr’s request there will be no services. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

ROBLES, Maria Corrales, 76, of Tucson, passed away May 10, 1994. Survived by husband, Luis R. Robles; daughter, Maria Elena (Emigdio) Camargo; son, Reginaldo (Julieta) Robles; sister, Hortencia C. Lopez; brothers, Roberto Corrales, Rosendo (Emedelina) and Ignacio Corrales; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 1994 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (North Chapel), 204 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Friday 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Church. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

BACK, Robert B., 70, passed away Thursday, July 7, 1994 at Riverview Retirement Home. He was a retired employee of Westinghouse Electric Corp. and a WWII and Korean War, Marine Corp Veteran. He was a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nita; one sister, Glenna Shanks of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Rev. Travis Fullwood officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will be in East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.

GEARE, Iltyd Henry, Jr., 70, died July 4, 1994. Survived by wife, Helen Louise Geare of Tucson; sons, Russell Gear of PA, Iltyd H. Gear III of MI, Peter Geare of CA, and James Geare of Tucson; six grandchildren (and one on the way). He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 9, 1994, 1:00 p.m., at the house of Mrs. Geare, 6522 N Foothills Drive (529-2808). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

GILBERT, Dudley E. “Jesse’, 67, died July 4, 1994. Tucson resident for the past six years from Canada. Survived by his wife, Anna Gilbert; and two children, Carol and David of Canada. There are two grandchildren. There will be no public services. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

HILL, Leslie G., 72, died July 8, 1994. Survived by his wife, Marian Hill of Tucson; Craig L. Hill of San Diego, Steven L. Hill of Tucson, Mark T. Hill of CA and Holly S. KOCH, Bunice Perkins, a resident of Tucson since 1946, passed away July 5, 1994 in Tucson at the age of 95. Born August 18, 1898 in Kevil, Kentucky. Preceded in death by husband, Harry L. and son, Robert W. Survived by daughter, Margaret Nary; son, Paul J.; grandchildren, John and Cathy Nary, David and Kevin Koch, Diane Terry and Sheri Ingwersen; eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Koch was a member of the Tucson Baptist Temple. Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 1994 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., with Pastor Louis Johnson officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

MORENO, Mary M., 74, of Tucson, passed away July 7, 1994. Survived by husband, Arthur E. Moreno; children, Andriette O’Connor, Arte (Carole) Moreno, Rosemary (Ray) Goodwin, Linda Saulisbury, Elias, Bobby, Patricia, Alex (Stephanie), Ron (Terry) Moreno, JoAnne (Tim) Gannon and Ellen (Jerry) Irwin; sisters, Carmen Gradillas and Aurelia Murphy; also survived by 17 grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10, 1994 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday 8:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. RODRIGUEZ, Herminia G., 56, of Tucson, died July 8, 1994. Survived by husband, Ventura F. Rodriguez; sons, Ventura G. Rodriguez, Jesse G. Rodriguez, David A. Rodriguez, Patrick J. Rodriguez and William J. Rodriguez, all of Tucson; brothers, Willie Gonzales of CA, Adolfo Gonzales of Oracle, Alberto Gonzales of Mammoth, Ernesto Gonzales of Mammoth and Ricardo Gonzales of Tucson; sisters, Sally Savage of Tucson, Virginia Estrada of Hayden and Mary Gonzales of CA; and seven grandchildren. Mass will be celebrated Monday 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Ray Corkery officiating. Friends may Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY. SPENCE, George, 62, died July 7, 1994. Survived by his wife, Dorothy Spence of Tucson; children, John W. (Phyllis) Spence of Tucson, Laura (David) Valenzuela of Tempe and Katherine Spence of Tucson; grandchild, Richard C. Spence of Tucson; sisters-in-law, Mildred (Howard) Spence of CT and June Martinkovic of PA; late brothers, Howard and Ernest Spence. Mr. Spence received a BA and MA 1955-56 in music from Hartt College of Music in Connecticut, band director for TUSD elementary and high schools, also at Vail Jr. High for 34 years, retired in 1993, a veteran of the United States Army, member of the Tucson Pops for 35 years and Tucson Symphony Member. BLACKLEDGE, Rose, M., formerly of Tucson, AZ, where she and her husband owned and operated ABC Trade School. Survived by husband of 48 years, John Wiley Blackledge, of Plano, TX; son and daughter-in-law, John William and Cleta J. Blackledge, of Richardson, TX; son, Robert Wiley Blackledge, of Plano; grandchildren, Bill, Brandy, Brian. Memorial Services 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 1994, RESTLAND ABBEY CHAPEL. HELM, Betty Best, 84, born March 11, 1910, in Peoria, IL, passed away July 7, 1994 at Northwest Hospital. Preceded in death by husband, Winchell. She is survived by her brother, Edwin, of Oak Park, IL; and her two sons, Jerry of Tucson and Steven of Boise, ID; five grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a favorite charity.

BOWMAN, Vernon D., 80, died July 10, 1994. Survived by his wife, Elizabeth Bowman of Tucson; son, Michael M. Bowman of Tucson; daughter, Dale Fears of Montana; sister, Betty McCleskey of El Paso. Mr. Bowman graduated with a B.A. in Education from College of Mines in El Paso, TX, 1938. Entered the U.S. Army in 1941, served during WWII and Korean Conflict. He retired in 1961 as a Lieutenant Colonel. His honors include Silver Star, Soldier’s Medal, and Bronze Star. After the U.S. Army, he worked for 22 years with the Civil Service as a Disaster Preparedness Officer, retiring in 1982. Funeral Services to be held in El Paso, TX at a later date. Please omit flowers and make donations to your favorite charity in Mr. Bowman’s name. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

DOUGHTY, Florence D., 95, died July 2, 1994. Tucson resident for the past 50 years from Missouri and the widow of Harold W. Doughty who died in 1980. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Robert L. Reynolds of Claremont, CA; by three grandchildren, Kathleen Castellano of San Marcos, CA, Robin Majick of Huntington Beach, CA, Robert D. Reynolds of Dana Point, CA; by two great-granddaughters, Jessica Majick and Dawn Castellano; other survivors include nieces and nephews living in Texas, Mississippi and Tennessee. Mrs. Doughty was born in Mounds, IL where she attended school and worked as a bookkeeper until her marriage in 1925. Before coming to Tucson in 1944 she and her husband lived in St. Louis, Mexico and Webster, MO. A long time member of the First Congregational Church. Mrs. Doughty served as Treasurer of the Women’s Fellowship for several years. She was a member of the Tucson Women’s Club and an Advisor to the Catalina Junior Women’s Club during the 1950. She was active in Republican Precinct work as a Deputy Registrar and an election worker at polling place. During World War II she was a volunteer with the Red Cross Canteen, meeting the troop trains with doughnuts and refreshments at the Southern Pacific Depot. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Doughty will be held at 10:30 Saturday morning, July 16 in the Sanctuary of First Congregational Church, 824 North Second Ave. Remembrances may be made to the First Congregational Church or to the Tucson Women’s Club, 6245 East Bellevue in Tucson, 85712. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

FRAZIER, Charles W. “Bill’, 68, of Tucson, passed away July 8, 1994. Survived by wife, Virginia; daughter, Donna Roquet; son, Rob Frazier; brothers, Frank and Carl; sister, Barbara Perry; four grandchildren. No services will be held at Bill’s request. GLASNER, Suzanne, 72, died July 11, 1994.
