Lucille Horton
Lucille D. Horton, 88, of Winslow, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Peoria.
Mrs. Horton was born May 23, 1921 in Marysvale, Utah. She is survived by her sons, Tommie (Jonni) Horton and Gary (Anita) Horton of Laveen; daughter Viola (George) Knight of Glendale; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; sister Edna Barker of Sparks, Nev.; and brother Hal King of Camp Verde.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Effie King; husband Tommie; sister Lola; brothers Charlie and Ellis; and two great-grandsons.
A funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Greer's Mortuary Chapel in Winslow, with Bishop Blake Miller to preside. Interment will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

Eric Coldwell
Eric Brenton Coldwell, 16, of Williams, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in Flagstaff.
Eric was born to loving parents Howard and Lynne Coldwell of Williams on Feb. 27, 1993, in Fontana, Calif. He had many friends in Williams, Flagstaff and Hesperia, Calif. He loved singing, playing guitar, doing karaoke and riding his all-terrain vehicle. He also had many Internet friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Eric is survived by his parents; sister Cynthia Coldwell of Victorville, Calif.; his grandmother; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Eric Coldwell Scholarship Fund at any National Bank of Arizona.
David Pepper
David Turcotte Pepper, 53, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at his home in Flagstaff.
Mr. Pepper was born March 19, 1956. He moved to Flagstaff with his partner Robert Wilkins and their dog Doc three and a half years ago. Mr. Pepper was an airline pilot/contractor who earned a master of business administration degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He had a love for travel that took him to various destinations worldwide. In 2004, Mr. Pepper traveled to Morocco and helped to rebuild a mosque that had been damaged by bombing. He had an avid passion for flying, books, animals and foreign films. He was a proud member of the Air Line Pilots Association. Mr. Pepper is survived by his partner Robert Wilkins of Flagstaff; his father John J. Pepper; mother Anita Turcotte Pepper; brothers Johnny, Timothy, Anthony and Andrew; and several nieces and nephews of Canada and the United States.
Private services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Compassus Hospice, 1000 N. Humphreys St., suite 220, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
Jean Znetko
Jean Louise Znetko, 75, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at her home in Kingman.
She was born Feb. 10, 1934, in McKeesport, Pa. During her teen years, the family moved to Santa Ana, Calif., where she finished her schooling. She was employed with Sears and Roebuck, the Helms Company and Cigna in various clerical positions. A dedicated employee, she was recognized by each of the companies for which she worked for her outstanding work ethic. She made several lifelong friends through her jobs. In later years, she selflessly assumed the responsibility as primary caretaker for her parents. She retired in 2002 to be closer to her remaining family members in Flagstaff, Winslow and Kingman. She was an aficionado of films and books and was an avid collector of keepsakes. She truly enjoyed decorating her surroundings, and she was extraordinarily generous toward the well being of others.
She is survived by brother Edwin (Sandy) Znetko of Flagstaff; niece Cyndi (Terry) Cirre of Winslow; nephews Jerry (Robin) Znetko of Spokane, Wash., and Creag (Socorro Rodriguez) Znetko of Flagstaff; and was adored by the ones who called her Aunt Jean -- Joshua, Matthew, Caleb, Levi, Jaelynne, Andrew, Maresha, Chris and Tiffany.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie and Andy Znetko, and her aunts, Hannah Wagner and Margaret Reiber.
Private family services have taken place. Interment will be at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana.
Paul Emberty
Paul D. Emberty, 59, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Flagstaff, died Saturday, June 20, 2009.
Mr. Emberty was born Feb. 22, 1950, and grew up in Albuquerque, N.M. After graduating from Valley High School in 1967, he began his career as a rodeo cowboy. In 1970, he met Jane and in 1971 the two were married. Mr. Emberty loved rodeo and won many buckles and awards. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, and when he wasn't traveling the rodeo circuit, he spent his time exploring the outdoors. In 1976, his daughter Paula was born, followed by Debbie in 1977 and Naomi in 1979. He would often introduce them as "Ennie, Meanie, Minie and there ain't no Mo." In 1982, the family moved to Flagstaff, where Mr. Emberty worked for Southwest Forest Industries and then later for Consolidated Freightways. While in Flagstaff, he made many friends and spent most of his time outdoors, hunting, fishing, shooting or helping a friend in need. He also made sure his girls were involved in rodeo and saw all his daughters win their own buckles over the years.
In 1996, Mr. Emberty moved back to Albuquerque, to care for his mother, Patsy. In 2006, he remarried and moved to Los Lunas, N.M., with his wife Betty. He loved to visit with his friends and family and reminisce about the past. He never lost his love for life and will be remembered as true rodeo cowboy, the last of a dying breed.
Mr. Emberty is survived by his wife, Betty Emberty; mother of his children and lifelong friend Jane Emberty; children Paula Wilkes (Robert) of Flagstaff, Debbie Yeager (Bryan) of Craig, Colo., and Naomi Race (Billy) of High Point, N.C.; sisters Fern Peterson, Gloria Sellers (Arlo) and Beverly Kelly (Bob); four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Patsy Emberty; and his sister, Louise Navarro.
Services will be in Los Lunas, N.M., on Saturday and are being handled by Gabaldon Mortuary. A celebration of his life will happen in Flagstaff later this year.

Earl Rosell
Earl Leonard Rosell, III, 55, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Scottsdale.
Mr. Rosell was born in Flagstaff on Feb. 14, 1954, to Carol Jensen and Earl L. Rosell Jr. He graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1973, then served his country in the U.S.
Navy for four years. He was in the used car business for 15 years and was the owner of Killmans Kar Korral. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a big sports fan.
Mr. Rosell is survived by his wife, Sindy L. Rosell of Flagstaff; his mother, Carol J. Simpson of Scottsdale; his father, Earl L. Rosell Jr. of Billings, Mont.; his daughters, Sarah E. Rosell of Macomb, Okla., and Alyssa A. Rosell of Flagstaff; his stepson, Joshua C. Lavy of Flagstaff; his sisters, Tami E. Rosell of San Mateo, Calif. and Rene Rosell of Billings; his brother, Scott Simpson of Apache Junction; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Earl L. Rosell IV.
A celebration of life memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, at the Christ Church of Flagstaff, with a reception immediately following.

Paul Scholing
Paul Arthur Scholing, beloved son of Marshall and Carol Scholing, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, in Flagstaff.
Mr. Scholing loved mixed martial arts, body building and his cats. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He is survived by his parents; his sister Patricia (Mike) Ferris of Sioux Falls, S.D.; four nieces; his aunt and uncle Jan and Bill Murphy of Flagstaff; his aunt Nancy (John) Pennekamp of San Francisco; his aunt Barbara (Wes) Nott of Missoula, Mont.; and cousins Ken Murphy, Doug and Valerie Murphy of Flagstaff; Julie and Scott Speights of Orangevale, Calif. and Carl Weidman of Orangevale.

Marie Chensky
Marie Glover Chensky, 96, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in Flagstaff.
She was born May 6, 1913. She will be remembered by many as being a loving and caring person. She touched the hearts of many who were fortunate enough to know her. She was surrounded in her last years by so many people in the Flagstaff area who loved, appreciated, respected and cared for her. In her final days, hospice was a source of comfort for the entire family. Mrs. Chensky was a devoted Christian and is with her lord and savior. She is survived by children Frank Chensky (Connie) of Flagstaff and Jean Wilson (Robert) of Murray, Ky. She also has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren living in various parts of the country.
She was preceded in death by daughter Mary Woods.

Catherine Hart
Catherine Marie (Heinritz) Hart, 55, of Flagstaff, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009.
She was born June 21, 1954, in Lansing, Mich. to Doris and Robert Heinritz. She had a compassionate soul and will be missed by all for her sense of humor and her open and gracious heart. While a working single mother, she graduated magma cum laude from the University of South Florida with a bachelor's degree in early education.
Throughout her professional career, she was a champion for the less fortunate. She was a true humanitarian whose life's calling was helping others. Her family and many others will forever be touched and changed for the better by her never-ending warmth. Her children are inspired their our mother's strong sense of morality, equality and, above all, compassion, and will continue to be inspired. The family thanks the many people who gave continuous support to Catherine, with a special thanks to co-workers and to Gayle.
She is survived by her father, Robert; sisters Patricia and Virginia; brothers Robert and James; sons Paul Michael Coleman of Flushing, Mich., and Joseph Gilmartin of Flagstaff; and daughter Emerald Louise Heinritz of Ft. Myers, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her son, "Bobby, " and her mother.
