Sheri Ann Maktima
Sheri Ann Maktima, 47, of Flagstaff, died Thursday, November 12, 2009.
She was born July 1, 1962 in Ripley, TN to Bill and Sally Wells, her maternal clan is Turtle.
Sheri graduated from Choctaw Central High in Choctaw, MS, a NAU Alumni; she graduated from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM. Sheri enjoyed the outdoors; gardening, fishing, hiking, camping and was an avid sports fan. She was a collector of arts and crafts and a fine bead worker.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Joseph Maktima, son; Joseph Teach Maktima, parents, Bill and Sally Wells of Smyrna, TN, sister Christy Wells Dean of Smyrna, TN, nieces Madison L. Dean and Baylor Stanley of Smyrna, TN, Uncle Freeman Robinson of Ripley, TN, Aunt Fran Carlson of Lois, SC, Aunt Nancy Hasson of Toledo, OH, Aunt Joyce Bell of Ripley, TN, Aunt Edna Fay of LaVergne, TN and Aunt Sammie Sanders of Smyrna, TN.
Sheri is preceded in death by her grandmother Ronnie Robinson and grandfather Jimmy Teach Robinson.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Lozano’s Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N. 4th Street, Flagstaff, AZ from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Holy Rosary will be Monday, November 16, 2009 at 10:00 am followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Pius X Center, 2257 E. Cedar Ave, Flagstaff, AZ

Steward Artist Means
Steward Artist Means, age 76, died Friday, January 14, 2005 at Flagstaff Medical Center.
He was born October 8, 1928 in Denver, Colorado, a son of Forrest and Marie Artist Means.
Steward married Gloria Jean Stettler on October 23, 1965 in Denver.
He retired from GTE and then moved to Flagstaff in 1991.
Steward enjoyed traveling in his RV.
He is survived by his daughter Katherine Westfall Wilson of North Carolina, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Steward is preceded in death by his wife, his son Frederick Ross Westfall, and one brother.
Rollie Allen
Rollie Allen, 69, died Saturday, November 7, 2009.
He was born December 11, 1939 in Sikeston, MO.
Rollie served in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1985; afterward he continued his love of aviation with the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport until the spring of 2007. During the Vietnam War he was stationed in Thailand. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and had a life long interest in aviation and astronomy
He is survived by his loving wife Magdalena, his daughter Anita and son Brian, two grandchildren.
Evening Vigil Holy Rosary will be Tuesday November 10, 2009 at 7:00 pm at St. Pius X Center, 2257 E. Cedar Ave, Flagstaff, AZ. Memorial Mass will be Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Center, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.

Louise Lorraine McCarroll
Louise Lorraine McCarroll, age 83, died Friday, August 6, 2004 at home in Williams.
She was born June 23, 1921 in Clarks, Louisana, a daughter of Lonzo Lee and Edda Lillian PettyJohn Rodabush.
Louise grew up in Nebraska City, Nebraska where she met and married Fred “Shorty” McCarroll on June 26, 1937. They were married sixty-six years and lived in California and Washington prior to settling in Arizona.
She was noted for her cooking and sewing. She loved flowers, music and square dancing. And loved going to lunch with family and friends.
Louise was a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness since 1943. She will be missed by the many loving friends she made through the years.
She is survived by her two daughters Kay Vessel and Sherry McCarroll of Williams, AZ, one son Ron McCarroll of Olympia, Washington, and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband Shorty who passed away on January 1, 2004.
A memorial service will be held at the Williams Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 5495 N. Sunset Strip (off of 64N), Williams at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14th, 2004.
Thomas P. Diaz
Thomas P. Diaz, 96, of Page, AZ died on Friday, October 23, 2009 at his home in Page, AZ, surrounded by his family. He was born September 23, 1913 in Albuquerque, NM to Apolinar and Patricia (Padilla) Diaz.
Tom served in the US Army during World War II. During the Great Depression he worked in the mine at Jerome, AZ. He was a member of V. F. W., the American Legion the Painters Union, and a Boy Scout Leader. Tom loved his family and longtime companion Carmen, who he lovingly refered to as “his little flower”. Tom had many friends who adopted him as a father and grandpa. He enjoyed music of all kinds and quiet times alone reading, but most of all his greatest joy in life was having family and friends come to visit his “campito” for happy hour, where numerous life long memories were made and many pictures taken, that will be shared over and over again, by all who loved him.
Tom was a mentor and philosopher to all those he came in contact with. His words of wisdom and guidance will be missed by all and carried on through the generations to come.
Tom is survived by his companion of 34 years Carmen Christy, daughters; Gloria Diaz Macias (David Rodriguez), Yolanda Lucero (Richard), Sons Tommy Diaz (Sylvia) Dickie Diaz (Marguerite); Freddie Diaz, sisters, Lucy Quesada, Lola Lenz (Earl) of CA, 17 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Also, Carmen’s daughter Jenny Magaña (John) and their families and special friends Bill, Luciano and Gary
He is preceded in death by, mother; Patricia P. Diaz, father Apolinar Diaz, wife Hilaria R. Diaz, brothers, Cesar, Moises, Apolinar, and Tony, sister Ino and Marian, daughter Jean D. Montoya, granddaughter Sharon Diaz, grandson Richard Diaz, Jr. and great-grandson Thomas Diaz III.
There will a Holy Rosary at 10:00 am followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am, both held on Friday, October 30 2009 at St. Piux X Center, 2257 E. Cedar Ave. Flagstaff, AZ. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to Zion’s Way Hospice, PO Box 1015, Page, AZ 86040.
Ruth Ann Rathman
Ruth Ann Rathman, age 68, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 in Peoria, Arizona.
She was born April 2, 1936 in Palo Alto, California, a daughter of Paul Edbert and Alberta Louise Bibby Holper.
Ruth married Richard F. Rathman on June 13, 1964 in California.
She lived in California, Atlanta, Georgia, settled in Flagstaff and then retired in Sun City, Arizona.
Ruth was member of the Federated Community Church in Flagstaff and the First Presbyterian Church of Peoria.
She was a great cook who loved traveling, playing the violin, and singing in the choir.
Family was very important to Ruth, she was known for driving cross country on family trips to visit more family.
Ruth is survived by six sons Stan (Judy) Mason of Sun City, Arizona, Steve Mason of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Robin Mason of Sun City, Arizona, David (Sandy) Rathman of Phoenix, Arizona, Art Rathman of Phoenix, Arizona, and Daniel (Jean) Rathman of Pine City, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grand children; her brother Paul Holper of Las Vegas, Nevada; and her sister Nancy Wilingham of Sun City, Arizona.
She is preceded in death by her husbands and one granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Peoria 10236 N. 83rd Ave. Peoria, Arizona. The viewing will be one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. Citizens Cemetery 800 S. Verde Flagstaff, Arizona.
Bonnie G. Hughner
Bonnie G. Hughner died Thursday, December 9, 2004 at her home in Flagstaff, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born March 20, 1948 in Lompoc, CA, a daughter of Edson W. and Hazel Covert Shutt.
She married Donald Raymond Hughner on March 19, 1981 in Glendale, AZ. He preceded her in death December 12, 1998.
She spent most of her life in Phoenix and Flagstaff, AZ.
She is survived by three sons, David and Bernice Briggs of Phoenix; Darin and Andrea Hughner of Flagstaff; Eric Briggs of Phoenix and daughter Stacy and Frank Prickett of Flagstaff. She is also survived by her loving companion Thomas Wright, ten grandchildren and one sister Edie Osborne of Phoenix.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 6:00 pm. At Bethel Baptist Church on Lake Mary Rd.
