Judith Anne Harvill
1961 - 2011

Judith Anne Harvill, 50, of Cornville, died July 27, 2011. She was born April 27, 1961 in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Whynn and Dixie Culpepper.

She was a graduate of Camp Verde High School. She worked at the Carlata Copper Mine in Globe and at the Salt River Materials Group Cement Plant in Clarkdale.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandma, aunt and dear friend and will be missed numerous friends and family.

She is survived by a son, Edward Pisciotta (Colleen) of Rimrock; a daughter Lindsay Harvill; brothers Mike Cullpepper (Tamera) of Camp Verde; Steve Cullpepper of California and Robert Cullpepper of California; a sister Renee Yarbrough (Lee) of Chino Valley; and one grandchild.

A memorial service was held July 30 at the Verde Baptist Church.

John O. Davis

Funeral Services for John Oliver Davis, 84 will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Clay Springs, AZ. Interment to follow in Clay Springs Cemetery, Clay Springs, AZ. Viewing will be held 1 hour prior in the Relief Society Room.

John Oliver Davis was born on May 11, 1925 in Clay Springs, Arizona. He died on April 27, 2010 in Flagstaff, Arizona.

John is survived by Edith, his loving wife of 55 years; children, Phyllis Engels (Charlie), Johnathan (Amy), Shirley Wyatt (Keith), Patricia Brown (Richard), Russell (Amanda), Robin (Christina), Benjamin, Debra Shaw (William), Michael (Luciane); 32 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren; siblings, Alice Davis, Betty Yarborough, Bessie Bowler, Kenneth Davis, Russell Davis, Charles Davis, Richard Davis and Jeanette Malone.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse & Melissa Davis; sister, Ruby Spear, grandson, Justin Davis.

John served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 in the European (EAME) Campaign during World War II. He was awarded a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal during his service.

John was a fireman for the AT&SF; Railway, drove logging trucks for many companies in the White Mountains/ Mogollon Rim and delivered Meals on Wheels during his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, loved prospecting and polishing stones, he liked to fish and read the Arizona Republic and especially loved country music and picking his Guitar.

Uva Vernon (Hargett)
1914 - 2011

Uva Vernon (Hargett) born October 4, 1914, passed away July 29, 2011.

She is preceded in death by Glenda Dale Hargett (Zellner), daughter; Douglas Eugene Zellner, grandson; Darrell Lee Zellner, grandson. All are buried at Clearcreek Cemetery in Camp Verde. There is an infant son buried in Texas.

She is survived by two daughters, three sisters, one brother, eleven grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

An informal graveside service will be held at Clearcreek Cemetery, Camp Verde at 11 a.m. Saturday Sept. 3. Friends are welcome to join Uva’s family in the celebration of her life. Memories, poems, thoughts, prayers and songs welcomed.

Following at Windmill Park (Cornville) will be a bring your own picnic, plus a dish to share. Amenities include BBQ grills, (charcoal) playground, bathrooms, & horseshoe pit. Don’t forget chairs, table service, etc. Donna 634-1391.

Virginia L. Spencer
1931 - 2011

Virginia L. Spencer, 80, of Mesa, formerly of Cottonwood died August 11. She was born May 20, 1931 in Victoria, Kansas, the daughter of Richard Davis Fisher and Eva Irene Skelton Fisher.

Mrs. Spencer worked for many years as a Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing for several nursing homes in Tucson.

They moved to Cottonwood in 1994 where she taught nursing classes at Yavapai Community College.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Spencer had a love of music and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She played at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was also an Ecumenical Minister and faithful member of the Catholic Church. Mrs. Spencer was a longtime member of P.E.O.

Mrs. Spencer was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She leaves her husband of 62 years. Michael E. Spencer and is mother of Patrick (Karin), Janice, Damien and Martha; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a brother Stephen Fisher of Florida.

The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Monday, August 22 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m..

A Memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in All Souls Cemetery.A reception will be held in the church hall following services.

Barbara (Diann) Warner
1949 - 2011

Barbara (Diann) Warner, 61 of Cottonwood, passed away at home on July 26, 2011.

She was born on November 12, 1949 in Fort Lee, VA to Robert and Jean Lewis.

Barbara attended schools in Munson then went on to Yavapai College and NAU for Social Work.

Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and wife.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Robert.

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Kirk Warner; sons Christopher Warner (Nichole) of Iowa and Charles Smith of Georgia; daughter Tawnya Warner Hudson (David) of Cottonwood; sisters Carolyn Weldon (Larry) of Florida, Patsy Turley (Joe) of Florida and Robin Reibold (Michael) of Kentucky; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Page Springs Restaurant.

Arlene M. Rozgay
1927 - 2011

Arlene M. Rozgay, 84 of Cornville, passed away July 27, 2011. She was born on January 9, 1927 in Ludington, Michigan to Raymond and Regina Masse.

Arlene worked for 36 years as an executive secretary at the Keebler Company.

Arlene is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Ed Rozgay; daughters Dawn Fernandez (Roman) and Colleen Connolly; brother Rod Masse; sister Donna Liebetrea and 3 grandchildren.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Thomas Leigh Odell
1954 - 2011

Thomas Leigh Odell, age 57, of Oakland, Ore., passed away on Saturday Aug. 6, 2011. He was born Aug. 2, 1954 in Dearborn, Mich..

He moved with his family to Cottonwood in 1992, where he resided for approximately seventeen years. Tom was a hardworking family man who loved joking around, woodworking, and fishing with his grandchildren. He will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his two sons, Jason Odell and Joseph (Lindsay) Odell, his daughter Samantha Odell, three grandchildren, Racheal, Elijah, and Casey Odell, parents Tom and Dorthey Odell, and sister Judy Hayes.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Dane Odell.

Private cremation rites were held. No additional services at this time.
