Margaret Paul
1919 - 2011

Margaret Paul, 93 of Sedona, passed away on August 10, 2011. She was born on January 19, 1919 in Hollywood, CA to Howard and Grace Ward.

Margaret attended Hollywood High then Los Angeles Business College in 1939.

Margaret was Vice President of Peds Hosiery. She enjoyed golf and to travel.

Margaret was an inspirational mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who led a full life.

Margaret was preceded in death by her son Philip Stanbro and husband Walter Paul. She is survived by son Don Paul (Ilene) of Jenner, CA; daughter-in-law Sammie of Hawaii; brother Ken Ward (Joan) of Pasadena, CA; sister Phylis Klein of Redding, CA; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Josh Stanbro, Orion Stanbro, Meridian and Tai; all of Hawaii and Sara Heitman and Parker Heitman of Seattle, WA.

There are no public services planned.

Barbara Fulghum
1954 - 2011

Barbara Fay Fulghum, 57, of Cottonwood died July 30, 2011. She was born April 13, 1954 in Flagstaff, the daughter of Alvin Elwood Fulghum and Barbara Jane Fulghum.

She attended Mt. Elden School. She worked for Ivy Animal Health in Overland Pass, Kansas. She enjoyed picture framing, playing cards, family gatherings and watching movies.

She leaves a son, John Wilson and a daughter Jamie Tesdal, both of Prescott Valley; a brother Elwood Fulghum; sisters Amy Wilcox, Linda Hart, Carol Poe and Patty Fulghum Carroll; and four grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service Wednesday August 10 in Valley View Cemetery at 9 AM.

Leon ‘Gene’ Chadwick
1931 - 2011

Leon “Gene” Chadwick, 80, of Cottonwood passed away on Tuesday, August 8th, 2011.

He was born on May 4th, 1931 in Salina, Kansas, to Carl and Marie Chadwick. He grew up in a modest household with one sibling, JoAnn. After graduating high school in Salina, he joined the US Air Force in 1950, serving our great country for 20 years.

During an assignment to Freising, Germany, he met Illca, whom he would marry in December of 1964.

They had two children, Glenn and Cheryl, and would eventually live in many places across the country to include Texas, Louisiana, New York, Oklahoma, California, Florida and Georgia.

After retiring from the US Air Force, Gene served another 20 years working for the Federal Aviation Administration. During their final retirement years, Gene and Illca enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and just being with each other. After 46 years of marriage, his beloved Illca passed away this past April at age 70. Now, Gene has joined Illca again for eternity. They are survived by their two children, four grandchildren, Illca’s mother, and Gene’s sister.

They will forever be missed, remembered, cherished, and loved by their family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Prescott National Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 19 at 1 p.m.

Ethel Holt
1926 - 2011

Ethel Holt, 85, of Cottonwood died January 17, 2011.

She was born June 3, 1926 in Roy, New Mexico, the daughter of Roy Clayton Kuykendall and Edith Kuykendall.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl E. Holt.

Mrs. Holt leaves a son Philip E. Holt (Gaye) of Cornville and a daughter Nola H. Sebunia of Cottonwood,

William Joseph Christopher
1952-2011

William J. Christopher, 51, of Cornville passed away July 6, 2011. He was born June 14, 1952 in French Camp, California, the son of Judith Rosenstock and Bill Christopher.

He enjoyed painting, listening to and playing reggae music.

William is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patti Christopher of Cornville, and his son Marley Christopher of Cornville.

A potluck for William will be held at Windmill Park in Cornville on August 21 from noon to three.

All are welcome to celebrate his life.

Alden Ray Rodgers
1924 - 2011

Alden Ray Rodgers passed away on July 27, 2011 at his home in Cornville, AZ with his family present.

Alden was born at home in Tamora, NE on December 29, 1924. He graduated from McCool Junction High School in 1942 and married the “love of his life” Donna Bickert on April 12, 1944.

He and Donna left Nebraska with their young family and moved to Castle Rock, Colo., where they operated a successful business for several years. In 1968 they moved to Arizona eventually relocating to the Verde Valley in 2000.

Alden was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Leona Rodgers; his brothers; his daughter Catherine Jean Densmore and his wife Donna Arlene Bickert. He is survived by his daughters Patricia Breitkreut (Frank Meis) of Cornville, Nancy Rodgers of Cottonwood, Mary (Darrell) Webb of Boise, ID, Linda (Steve Lombardo) of Crown King, AZ and Joan (Mike) Gentile of Pt. Charlotte, FL. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerry Bickert and Phyllis Bickert of Lincoln, NE; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Charles Paul Boyles
DOB: 06/25/1945 in Mansfield, Ohio.
Died: 07/12/2011 at the VA Hospital in Prescott, Arizona.

Survived by: wife Linda, sister Charlene Frazier & her husband Ralph, nephew Dennis Frazier and niece Deborah Daniels.

Military Service: U.S. Navy 09/02/65 to 08/30/68. Served a tour in Vietnam River Patrol Boats (River Rats.)

Member of Camp Verde VFW Post 6739, and Camp Verde American Legion Post 93.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to “Heroes Way” Hospice, VA Hospital in Prescott, Arizona. A memorial service will be held at VFW Post 6739 in Camp Verde on August 12 at 2:00 pm. Information provided by family members.
