Burnice Truscott
Burnice K. Truscott, 75, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, in Prescott.
She was born Nov. 8, 1921, in Butler, Pa., to Fred G. and Millie (Eichenlaub) Skillman. She moved to Phoenix from Erie, Pa., in 1970 and to Prescott in 1987.
She was employed as a bookkeeper with Gulf Oil Company for 10 years.
Mrs. Truscott graduated from Butler High School in Butler, Pa. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also was a member of the Parkinson Support Group. She enlisted in the Army (WAAC, later changed to WAC) on Dec. 3, 1942. After working in recruiting, she became an Army librarian.
She enjoyed reading, watching television and baby-sitting. She was very proud of all the children that she had helped while baby-sitting.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, George F.; sons, William R. of Rancho Cordova, Calif., James C. of Phoenix and Charles M. of Prescott; daughters, Barbara E. Coil and Marion L. Coil, both of Chino Valley; daughter-in-law, Sonja Truscott of Rancho Cordova, Calif., and Nancy J. Truscott of Phoenix; brothers, Robert Skillman of Southgate, Mich., and Richard Skillman of Butler, Pa.; sister, Loretta Graham of East Butler, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services were held on Oct. 4 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry M. Caffery, C.M.F. officiating.

Roy Loukonen
Roy Alfred Loukonen, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, at the Veterans Administration nursing home in Prescott.
He was born may 23, 1912, in Parlier, Calif., to William and Hannah (Vaisanen)Loukonen.
Mr. Loukonen was a farmer for many years, retiring in 1980. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
He married Aurora L. Laine on June 5, 1960, in Reno, Nev. They moved to Chino Valley nine months ago from California.
Survivors include his wife, Aurora, of Chino Valley; son, Steve K. Laine of California; daughters, Carol D. Thomas of California and Karen Skoog of Chino Valley; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 4, at the Prescott Laestadian Lutheran Congregation in Prescott Valley with burial at Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey.

Edna Langdell
Edna C. Langdell, 87, died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at the Meadow Park Care Center. She had been a Prescott resident for the past 39 years.
She was born July 18, 1910, in Van Buren, Maine, to George and Anne (Michaud) Carr.
Mrs. Langdell was a member of First Lutheran Church in Prescott. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very good seamstress and enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Theron of Prescott; sons, Byron of Prescott, Alan of Paulden, and Darcy of Mesa; brother, Gordon Carr of Bar Harbor, Maine; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 8 at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Thomas Rothe officiating.

Dorothy Goodwin
Dorothy Lee Goodwin, 75, died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Meadow Park Care Center.
She was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Clayton, N.M., to Lonnie and Pearl (Sartain) Clark. She moved to Ash Fork from Henderson, Nev., and to Chino Valley in 1945.
Mrs. Goodwin was employed by Chino Valley schools as a cook for four years.
She enjoyed cooking, fishing, traveling, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family. She was proudest of her husband and children.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Donald; sons, Lloyd Chandler of Mesa, Floyd Chandler of Bagdad, Cecil Chandler of Scottsdale, and David Goodwin of Safford; brothers, Tommy Clark of Yuma, and Jerry Clark of Porterville, Calif.; sisters, Ruth Engleman of Staton, Ore., June Wilholt of Challenge, Calif., and Barbara Brink of Redmond, Ore.; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Jan. 7 at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home with Len Redding, co-pastor of Prescott Mennonite Church, officiating.

LaVerne Nunemaker
LaVerne (Noni) Nunemaker, 76, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Samaritan Village in Prescott.
She was born July 30, 1921, in Blue Island, Ill., to Charles and Alma Fikerle, and lived in Midlothian, Ill., until her early teens, when her family moved to Minnesota.
She returned to Midlothian after her marriage and lived there until 1964.
Mrs. Nunemaker moved to Mason City, Iowa, in 1964 and to Apple Valley, Calif., in 1972. She remained in that area until moving to Prescott in 1995. Because of her out-going personality and wit, she made good friends wherever she lived.
Survivors include her daughters, Roxanne Michaels of Chatsworth, Calif., Charlene Witvoet of Midlothian, and Debbie Pitney of Chino Valley; son, Woody Okerlund of Prescott; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in early 1997.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at Samaritan Village, 1030 Scott Drive. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Samaritan Village Endowment Fund, Attn: Linda Shebeck, 1030 Scott Drive, Prescott, AZ 86301.

Keith Jones
C. Keith Jones, 80, died on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000 at the Las Fuentes Care Center in Prescott. He was born on May 5, 1919 to Clarence Ray and Luella (Schaum) Jones, in Buffalo, N.Y. Prior to relocating to Arizona from West Virginia with his family in 1959, Mr. Jones was employed as a journeyman machinist in the Developmental Engineering Department of the Westinghouse Corporation in Pennsylvania and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Upon settling in Prescott, Mr. Jones was active with the First Baptist Church, Boys Club and enjoyed many years as a real estate agent for Pauley and McDonald Realtors and as owner-broker of A.R.C., Realty & Insurance.
Survivors include his sons, Neal and Noel both of Prescott; brothers, Zane Jones of Everett, Wash., long time companion, Susan Collins of Chino Valle; and four grandsons. There were no funeral services. Burial was at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.
Kenneth Hansen
Kenneth Nielsen Hansen, 75, died on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000 in Camp Verde.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1924 in Tempe. After graduating high school in Tempe, Mr. Hansen served his country during World War II in the Army-Air Force as a radio operator in a B-29 bomber. He married Betty Jean Stansberry on May 2, 1945 in Lincoln, Neb. After the war, the Hansens moved back to their native Arizona and had five children: Sterling, Barbara, Vyvyan, Denny and Tina.
Mr. Hansen was an original member of the Cowboys Turtle Association, which became the RCA and is now the PRCA. He rodeoed on the circuit for 19 years from New York to California, working all seven events, specializing in saddle bronc, bareback bronc and bull riding. At one point in his career, Mr. Hansen was ranked 6th in the work in bareback and 8th in the world in bull-riding event.
The Hansens moved to Chino Valley in 1956 where Mr. Hansen worked on ranches and farmed his own ground. Mr. Hansen served with the Yavapai County Sheriff's office for 19 years. When he was forced to retire after being injured in the line of duty, he was the department's chief investigator. He was a charter member of the Arizona County Attorney's and Sheriff's Association. In 1990 the Hansens realized their life-long dream when they purchased and operated their own ranch, The Pipeline Ranch, located in the southwest corner of Yavapai County.
Survivors include a sister, Eleanor Hunter of the Tempe area; daughters, Barbara Guest, Vyvyan Valentine and Tina Shelton; son, Denny Hansen; 14 grand children and numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at Chino Valley Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Raul Corrales
Raul Corrales, 69, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000 in Chino Valley.
He was born on Dec. 21, 1930 in Tierras Nuevas, Chihuahua, Mexico to Joaquin and Francisca (Carrasco) Corrales. Mr. Corrales started to be a cowboy at 8 years of age.
Mr. Corrales came to the United States in 1942. He married Cinderella Lara in 1954, and they moved to California in 1957. There he took night classes to learn English and to earn his U.S. citizenship. He learned upholstery, and then welding, construction and carpentry.
Mr. Corrales' wife died in 1986. He married Susan Ulry Largent in 1988.
In 1998 Mr. Corrales bought his ranch in Chino Valley and moved here, building his own house in only eight months.
Mr. Corracles was a true outdoorsman and loved to go horseback riding and packing, camping, hunting, and fishing. He was also a great dancer.
His smile was as big as the outdoors, and he was a friend to everyone whom he knew.
Survivors include his wife Susan of Chino Valley; sons, Raymond and Ruben of Sylmar, Calif.; daughter Marina Corrales of LaGrande, Ore.; sisters, Micaela Corrales of Juarez, Mexico, Irene Cordova of Bernalillo, NM, Alisia Corrales of Midland, Texas; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were on Feb.16 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Chino Valley. A private cremation followed at Bradshaw Cremator in Prescott Valley.
