James Palasz
James Palasz, 56, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in Prescott.
He was born March 22, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., to Francis and Gertrude Palasz.
Mr. Palasz and his wife, Arna, were married Sept. 1, 1977, in St. Charles, Ill. He moved to Phoenix in 1978, and to Dewey in 1982. He owned and operated Coyote Painting Co. in Dewey, retiring in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Arna, of Dewey; sons, Michael of Phoenix, Michael Jacobson of Dewey, and Patrick and John Jacobson, both of Payson; sister, Jacqueline Cilch of St. Charles, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey, with James Jones officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center or the American Cancer Society.

Onalee Hudgins
Onalee W. Hudgins, 92, of Prescott Valley, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in Prescott.
She was born April 2, 1906, in Richmond, Ky., to Edgar W. and Georgia Ann (Reeves) Warford.
Mrs. Hudgins and her husband, Charles, were married Sept. 16, 1937, in Richmond, Ky. She was a life member of Eastern Star, and a member of the Ravenna Christian Church in Ravenna, Ky.
Survivors include her son, Wm. Don of Prescott Valley; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at the Richmond Cemetery in Richmond, Ky. Interment will follow.

Kenneth Dunn
Kenneth H. Dunn, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, in Prescott.
He was born April 20, 1918, in Denver, Colo., to Thomas P. and Edna (Grazier) Dunn.
Mr. Dunn and his wife, Geraldine, were married Aug. 1, 1942, in Phoenix. He was the owner of Custom Fixtures, Inc., in South El Monte, Calif., retiring in 1977.
He moved to Sedona from Glendora, Calif., in 1979, and to Prescott in 1988. He was a member of the Prescott Nazarene Church.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; sons, Gary of Flagstaff, Robert of Covina, Calif., and Thomas of Azusa, Calif.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Glendora, Calif.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Nazarene Church Building Fund, 2110 Willow Creek Rd., Prescott, AZ.

Emily Viehdorfer
Emily Viehdorfer, 71, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at her daughter's home in Prescott.
She was born Feb. 10, 1927, in Kylertown, Pa., to Irvin Renoe and Edith (Damey) Renoe. She had been a Prescott resident for the past 30 years.
Mrs. Viehdorfer worked at the Arizona Pioneers' Home as a nurse's aide, and as a dietitian at the Prescott Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Her family said she truly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and needlepoint. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman "Finny, " Dec. 3, 1998.
Survivors include her daughters, Valerie Reid of Prescott and Jennifer Shaw of Glendale; brothers, Richard Renoe and Haskell, both of Keewaydin, Pa.; sisters, Betty McGovern of Keewaydin, Pa., and Marilyn Swartz of Tucson; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of new life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 2051 Willow Lake Road, #32.

Elic Rupe
Elic Samuel Rupe, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in Phoenix.
He was born Jan. 8, 1907, in Oklahoma to David and Millie (Davis) Rupe.
Mr. Rupe moved to Arizona from Oklahoma as a young boy. He was a farmer. He lived in Parker from 1950 to 1972, and had lived in Prescott Valley since 1972.
Survivors include his wife, Edna of Prescott Valley; daughter, JoAnn Lee of Little Rock, Ark.; stepdaughters, JoAnn Collins and Carolyn Kissinger, both of Phoenix; stepson, Michael Craig of Dallas, Texas; sister, Mary Skikes of Savanna, Okla.; 11 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Roy.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ, 8415 E. Manley Drive, in Prescott Valley. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m., with Pastor George Weaver officiating.

Rose Toman
Rose Camilla Toman, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in Black Canyon City.
She was born May 28, 1917, in Johnson City, N.Y.
Mrs. Toman was a hard worker all her life, often holding two jobs. She worked as a housekeeper for the state of New York, and also at a shoe factory. She was proud of her Czech heritage, and loved her large family.
Survivors include her sons, Lynn Smith of Black Canyon City, and Clement Bowers Jr. of Modesto, Calif.; daughter, Rose Fox of Black Canyon City; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel, corner of Valley and Navajo roads, in Prescott Valley. Cremation will be private at Bradshaw Crematory, and inurnment will be in the Slovak Catholic Cemetery in Binghamton, N.Y.

Michael Poland
Michael J. Poland, 41, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at Mountain View Manor.
He was born April 26, 1957, in Alpena, Mich., to Robert and Barbara I. (Wilcox) Carriveau.
Mr. Poland moved to Prescott in 1998 from Pomona, Calif., where he had been in customer services for General Telephone. He was active in the Jaycees in California, and a member of Hillside Community Church in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. He attended Trinity Presbyterian Church in Prescott.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, from June 1975 to Jan. 18, 1982. During his service, he was a member of the United States Volleyball Team. He was proudest of his daughters. He was truly a "Mr. Mom."
Survivors include his daughters, Cassie and Katie, both of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; his mother, Barbara of Prescott; father, Robert Carriveau of Michigan; stepfather, Robert Poland of Prescott; brothers, Pat Carriveau of Pomona, Calif., and Bob Carriveau of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Denise Youngblood of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Beverly Chavez of Alta Loma, Calif., Debra Ochoa and Jeanne Rowlette, both of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; stepbrother, Thomas Poland of Las Vegas, Nev., and stepsister, Kimberly Newman, also of Las Vegas.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 630 Park Ave., with the Rev. John Martin officiating.
Private cremation will be at Bradshaw Crematory, with inurnment in Oakdale Memorial Park, Glendora, Calif.
The family suggests memorials in Mr. Poland's name to the American Cancer Society, 915 E. Gurley, Prescott, AZ 86301.
