Lucille Berry

A. Lucille Berry, 82, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 24, 1915, in Braddock, Pa., to Floyd and Marjorie (Smith) Glenn.

Mrs. Berry moved to Parker 21 years ago from Southern California, and to Prescott 10 years ago. She was a member of the Women's Elks Organization in Parker.

Survivors include her son, Michael of Prescott; sister, Virginia Wells of Pittsburgh, Pa.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verlon, in 1962; daughter, Susan Brown, in 1970; and son, John, in 1972.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Hampton Funeral Home, Victorian Chapel, 240 S. Cortez St., with the Rev. Ray Roller officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Brea, Calif.

Hampton Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.

Michael Pendergast

Michael Thomas Pendergast, infant son of James and Brenda Pendergast of Prescott Valley, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Jennifer Best of Tempe, Amanda Anchie of Scottsdale, Sara, Donelle and Ruby Pendergast, all of Prescott Valley; brothers, Daniel and Ian, both of Prescott Valley; and grandparents, James and Loretta Pendergast of Scottsdale and Don and Mary Salter, also of Scottsdale.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mt. View Cemetery, 1051 Willow Creek Road.

The Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.

Norman Reynolds

Norman K. Reynolds, 89, died Monday, May 11, 1998, in Prescott.

He was born Jan. 11, 1909, in Lowell, Mass., to Kenneth F. and Beartha (Nye) Reynolds.

Mr. Reynolds sold advertising for newspapers.

Survivors include his son, Kenneth; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held at a later date.

Memory Chapel Mortuary helped the family with arrangements.

Nina Carney

Nina Deal Carney, 88, of Prescott Valley, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, in Phoenix.

She was born Oct. 9, 1909, in Caldwell County, N.C., to William and Mamie (Craig) Deal.

Mrs. Carney was a member of the Eastern Star in Prescott and several other fraternal and business organizations. She moved to Arizona more than 25 years ago from Texas.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann Boone of El Paso, Texas; sons, Dr. Ross Harrell of Grand Junction, Colo., and Bob Grier of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Irene Walker of Gallatin, Tenn., and Dorothy Massey of Black Canyon City; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1997.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69 in Prescott Valley, with members of the Eastern Star officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of choice.

Robert Mathewson

Robert Stadler Mathewson, 80, of Dewey, died Monday, May 11, 1998, at Prescott Valley Samaritan Center.

He was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Detroit, Mich., to Edward G. and Florence C. (Stadler) Mathewson.

Mr. Mathewson married Sallie Willison on Nov. 14, 1940, in Shaker Heights, Ohio. He attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He worked as a self-employed sales representative for the automotive industry.

He and his wife moved to Arizona in 1943, and to Dewey in 1986, after several years in Hawaii. He was an avid golfer, having won the Thomas Trophy in 1948 at the Wigwam Country Club, and the championship in 1966 at the Moon Valley Country Club, both in Phoenix. He was a life member of Elks Lodge #355 in Phoenix.

Survivors include his wife, Sallie, of Dewey; daughters, Diane Peck of Ventura, Calif., and Barbara Rohrbacher of Phoenix; sister, Jean McElroy of Brooking, Ore.; brother, Donald of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Private inurnment will take place at Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix.

Lynne Zenner

Lynne Grace Zenner, 68, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at her residence in Chino Valley.

She was born Sept. 19, 1929, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to Frank and Emilia (Elia) Sercha.

Mrs. Zenner worked in real estate most of her life.

Survivors include her husband, Warren; son, Mark Dudley of Chino Valley; two brothers; two sisters; four step-children and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arvol Lawrence

Arvol Charles Lawrence, 68, died Friday, May 8, 1998, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 3, 1929, in Bisbee, to Nathan and Frona (Dexter) Lawrence.

Mr. Lawrence was a life-long Arizona resident. He was a Jehovah's Witness minister in Kingman.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta, of Kingman; daughter, Tina McGrew of Flagstaff; son, Gary of Mesa; brothers, Elven, Bernell, Earon, Colon, Enard and Connie; sister, Geraldine Kilby; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Lawrence and Verona Hazelwood.

Private services will be held.

Marie Turrentine

Marie A. Turrentine, 79, died Saturday, May 9, 1998, in Prescott.

She was born April 2, 1919, in Kingston, N.Y., to Silvio and Lillian Nenni.

Mrs. Turrentine worked for many years as a manager for retail clothing stores, and spent the last eight years of her career at Isadora's in Sedona, retiring in 1991.

She and her husband were married on Valentine's Day, 1995. She enjoyed and excelled in oil landscape painting. She was interested in reading, writing poetry and cooking. She was very proud of her artistic abilities, and of her husband.

Survivors include her husband, Paul of Prescott; and son, William Schaefer, also of Prescott.

Private services will be held. Inurnment will also be private.
