Edna Langdell
Edna C. Langdell, 87, died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at the Meadow Park Care Center. She had been a Prescott resident for the past 39 years.
She was born July 18, 1910, in Van Buren, Maine, to George Carr and Anne (Michaud) Carr.
Mrs. Langdell was a member of First Lutheran Church in Prescott. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very good seamstress and enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Theron of Prescott; sons, Byron of Prescott, Alan of Paulden, and Darcy of Mesa; brother, Gordon Carr of Bar Harbor, Maine; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A visitation and luncheon/reception will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Lutheran Church, 231 Smoketree Lane. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Thomas Rothe officiating.

Willie Hornsby
Willie Dale Hornsby, 61, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at the Bagdad Community Health Center.
He was born March 26, 1936, in Hale Center, Texas, to Joseph and Minnie Belle (Ezell) Hornsby. He had been a resident of Bagdad for the past 34 years.
Mr. Hornsby married Constance Rendelman on Feb. 10, 1956, in Sudan, Texas.
He was employed by Cyprus Bagdad Mining Co. from August 1964 to October 1993, when he retired. He was a pit truck driver.
He enjoyed playing guitar and collecting smoking pipes.
Survivors include his wife, Constance of Bagdad; son, Calvin of Cripple Creek, Colo.; daughter, Darlene Thon of Bagdad; brother, I.D. Hornsby of Lubbock, Texas; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Christian Life Assembly Church, #1 Palm Lane in Bagdad, with the Rev. Frank Goodale officiating.

John Suderman
John Wesley Suderman, 80, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1917, in Kingman, Kan. The family moved to California, where he grew up in the San Fernando Valley.
He was an active Boy Scout and played a trumpet in the Salvation Army band. Mr. Suderman married Margaret (Peg) Bonham on April 20, 1940.
Mr. Suderman was a sergeant in the Army-Air Corps during World War II, and was attached to a B-32 bomber crew. He became involved in the photographic industry after the war.
His innovative sales style contributed much to corporations such as Yankee, Craig, DeJur, Star-D, and Carousel. His wife of 56 years was always at his side, and together they raised three boys and a girl. They retired to Dewey in 1990.
Mr. Suderman had a deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ. He was always involved in a local church wherever they lived. In Dewey, it was the fellowship of the Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Peg; sons, Jack of Prescott Valley, Mike of San Bernardino, Calif., and Larry of Santa Fe, N.M.; daughter, Jan of Susanville, Calif.; and brother, Oliver of Hawaii.
Many have been blessed to have known this loving and caring individual.
Private family services were held.

LaRue Dryburgh
LaRue H. Dryburgh, 83, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, in Prescott.
He was born Nov. 5, 1914, in Pennsylvania, to Dennis and Iola Dryburgh. He moved to Prescott from Santa Barbara, Calif. in 1986.
Mr. Dryburgh was employed by the United States Postal Service, as post master, in Beverly Hills, Calif., retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in El Paso, Texas, past governor of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodges in Santa Monica and Santa Barbara, Calif., and in Prescott.
Following his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed motor home travel, toured Canada and the United States. He enjoyed lodge work, be it the ritual, or working as lodge secretary or club manager. He had done it all. He worked crossword puzzles and was seldom stumped for a word. He enjoyed doing craft things, which he would share with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Babe; son, Jack of Prescott; daughters, Ruth Ford of Los Angeles, Calif., Rebecca Kerrman of Redding, Calif., and LindaBell Ribar of Prescott; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, at Cortez and Carleton streets.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, with officers and members of the Loyal Order of the Moose, lodge number 319 in Prescott Valley, officiating. Concluding services will be at Mountain View Cemetery.

Evelyn Snyder
Evelyn Marie Snyder, 75, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at her home in Prescott.
She was born March 2, 1922, in Florin, Pa., to David and Maggie (Shannon) Wentz.
Mrs. Snyder worked for the Yavapai County Treasure's Department for nine and one-half years. She moved to Prescott from Elizabeth Town, Pa., 25 years ago, where she and her husband operated the Snyder Texaco Station.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Prescott, and Christ Lutheran Church in Elizabeth Town, Pa., where she sang in the choir.
Survivors include her husband, John of Prescott; and a sister, Helen Miller of Evergreen, Colo.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the American Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, with Pastor Wallace B. Cole officiating.

Jack Lee
Jack E. Lee, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at the Prescott Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He was born April 24, 1919, in San Francisco, Calif., to James J. and Vena (Meysan) McDonnell. He moved to Rimrock from Walnut Creek, Calif., in 1988.
Mr. Lee retired from Pacific Telephone in 1979, where he was in middle management. For five years he was the publisher of Pacific Shipper, which keeps track of all ocean shipping.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He participated in action against the enemy at Tulage, and the British Soloman Islands. He was a part of the first wave on the beaches at Guadalcanal, with the Second Marine Division.
Mr. Lee was past president of the 2nd Marine Division Association. During his tenure as president, he traveled to New Zealand and was introduced to the Queen of England. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed keeping lines of communication open and current among Marine buddies and business friends.
He liked working out in his garden. He was very proud of his Marine Corps service.
Survivors include his wife, Elena "Tiny, " whom he married in August 1943; and sons, Dennis of Los Gatos, Calif., and Stephen of Corvalis, Ore.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Montezuma Chapel, 3450 E. Rusty Spur, Lake Montezuma, with the Rev. George Yarrington officiating.
Services will conclude with inurnment with military honors at the National Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix.
