Sarah Killoran

Sarah Killoran, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, in a Phoenix Hospice Family Care.

She was born Dec. 14, 1908, in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England, to Charles and Annie (Hall) Lenier. She has been a resident of Chino Valley since 1992.

Mrs. Killoran was affectionately known to most as "Nanny, " because of her many years dedicated to child care.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Croft of Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England, Pamela Flynn and Linda Liams, both of Chino Valley; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chino Valley United Methodist Church, Road 1 South and Road 1 East; and at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at the Chino Valley Missionary Baptist Mission, 6675 N. Highway 89.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice family Care, 100 E. Sheldon, #100, Prescott, AZ 86301.

Brown-Colonial Mortuary in Phoenix helped the family with arrangements.

Genevieve Gale

Genevieve "Kitty" M. Dale, 69, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, in Coon Rapids, Minn.

She was born Aug. 13, 1928, in Winona, Minn., to Fred and Edna (Kendall) Rehbine.

Mrs. Dale previously lived in Prescott with her husband Donald, where they were retired.

She is preceded in death by her son, Steven B. Reynolds.

Survivors include her husband, Donald of Prescott; sons, Larry Reynolds and Erwin Reynolds; brother, Duane Rehbine; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Reynolds.

Memorial services were held Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids, Minn., with Pastor John Kerr officiating. Burial was at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal, Minn.

Sunset Funeral Chapel in Minneapolis, Minn., helped the family with arrangements.

Charles Hill

Charles Edward Hill, 92, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at his home in Mayer.

He was born April 28, 1905, in New York, N.Y., to Charles and Martha Hill.

Mr. Hill moved to Arizona about 20 years ago from Kansas, and lived most of those years in Mayer.

He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and was a sheriff deputy in the Crown King area.

One of Mr. Hill's hobbies was to hunt and photograph lions, and he had many award-winning pictures.

Private services were held.

Dorothy Maxwell

Dorothy E. Maxwell, 71, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, in Phoenix.

She was born April 19, 1926, in Winkelman to Benjamin and Ora Inez (Steen) Hagan.

She married Virgil Lee Maxwell Jan. 23, 1941, and she and her husband owned and operated the Valley Center Market in Chino Valley until 1971.

Mrs. Maxwell worked for Fornara's market and Savoini's Western Wear, both in Prescott until her retirement in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil, who died in 1971.

Survivors include her son, Virgil "Monk" Maxwell, Jr. of Patagonia; daughter, Carla Jean Griffin of Chino Valley; brothers, Tom Hagan of Belise, Calif., and Thurman Shannon of Animus, N.M.; sisters, Elizabeth Leslie of Lexington, Okla., Ila Stanley of Phoenix, Bertie Davis of Salome, Anna Baker of Luna, N.M., Patsy White of Springerville, and Billie Weaver of St. Johns; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Memory Chapel Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., with a visitation preceding the service at 10 a.m.

Rink Gosswick will conduct the funeral service, and interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.

James Scaife

James W. Scaife, 43, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997.

He was born Dec. 16, 1953, in Pennsylvania, to Elmer and Dorothy (McClean) Scaife. He moved to Chino Valley from Pennsylvania in 1979.

Mr. Scaife was branch manager for Mountain Country Supply, where he had been employed for 12 years. He was a member of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Chino Valley.

He enjoyed traveling and family activities. He also enjoyed the classics, in both music and fine cars. He measured the success of his life and work by the help he gave others to achieve their goals and dreams. By giving of himself, he helped his children, friends and employees be all that they could be.

Survivors include his wife, Jonna, whom he married on March 3, 1973; daughters, Vanessa and Jenica, both of Chino Valley, and Jami of Cottonwood; sons, Domenic, Jonathan and Logan, all of Chino Valley; brother, David of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Sandy Zierden of Finleyville, Pa., and Kim Curtis of Brooksville, Fla.; parents, Elmer and Dorothy of Orlando, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on North Highway 89 in Chino Valley.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.

John Gardner

John Gardner, 87, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, in Prescott.

He was born Sept. 25, 1910, in Cook County, Texas, to Renfro and Elizabeth (Woods) Gardner. He moved to Yuma from Gainesville, Texas, in 1948, where he homesteaded land on the mesa. He moved to Prescott in 1959.

Mr. Gardner was a self-employed real estate broker who specialized in the sale of ranches and farms in Yavapai County. His firm was Gardner and Associates.

He was Yavapai County Fair chairman for six years, from 1971-76, and was a recipient of the Life Gold Pass. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a chief motor machinist mate. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Texas. He attended Prescott United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Gladys; son, John of Phoenix; daughter, Janice Smith of Sunnyvale, Calif.; sister, Edna Sbragia of Modesto, Calif.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St., with the Rev. Peter Perry officiating.

The family suggests contributions to the Salvation Army Youth Fund, 237 S. Montezuma St., Prescott, AZ 86303, or Prescott United Methodist Memorial Fund, 505 W. Gurley St., Prescott, AZ 86301.

Harriette Noggle

Harriette C. Noggle, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, in Prescott.

She was born July 20, 1911, in Colon, Neb. She grew up in Lander, Wyo. She moved to Ann Arbor, Mich., and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in nursing.

Mrs. Noggle moved to Prescott in 1948, and worked as a registered nurse for Yavapai Community Hospital from 1951 to 1974, when she retired.

She was involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution, and volunteered for various charitable organizations after her retirement.

Survivors include sons Carl and Roy, both of Tucson; daughter, Ruth of Prescott; sister, Ruth Magar of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother, Ralph Clark of Denver, Colo.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1991.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Bob Henderson officiating. For location of service, please call Memory Chapel Mortuary at 445-1881.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Noggle's name to The Humane Society, 1625 Sun Dog Ranch Road, Prescott, AZ 86301.
