William Allison
William Edward Allison, 59, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Phoenix.
He was born Oct. 30, 1938, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to William and Violet Allison.
Mr. Allison served with the U.S. Navy. He was a painter by trade.
Survivors include daughters, Sondra Davis and LeAnn Jack; son, Jerry; brother, Robert; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wekuvde Bay Use Area at Granite Basin Lake in Prescott.

Rosario Espinoza
Rosario G. Espinoza, 48, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, in Paulden.
He was born Jan. 22, 1949, in Sinaloa, Mexico to Ines and Damiana (Gastelum) Espinoza. He moved to Mesa from Mexico in 1980, and to Paulden in 1990.
He was a self-employed wood cutter for seven years. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He loved music and was very fond of animals.
Mr. Espinoza was considered a great cowboy and hard worker. He enjoyed dancing and was always happy. He lived life to its fullest and was always there when friends or family needed him. Mr. Espinoza had a good, kind heart and was very proud of his family.
Survivors include his wife, Christina; sons, Jose O. of Phoenix, Ernesto, Ivan and Dagoberto, all of Mesa; daughters, Esthela Vazquez, Evelia Artluro, Mercedas Espinoza and Lucia Espinoza, all of Mesa, and Ronana Felix of Sinaloa, Mexico; brothers, Inocente of Mexico, Alfonso of Phoenix and Jose of Mesa; sisters, Julieta Moreno, Josefina Reyes, Rosa Pacheco, Dalila Varela, and Alicia Moreno, all of Mesa, and Natalia Munoz of Mexico; and 11 grandchildren.
A visitation and rosary will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at 1332 W. Rosewood Court in Chandler.
A Christian burial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at 1332 W. Rosewood Court, Chandler, with Fr. Julio Higuera officiating. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Mesa.

Nancy Dunn
Nancy Kay Dunn, 53, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 26, 1944, in Los Angeles, Calif. She moved to Chino Valley five years ago from Georgia, where she lived with her mother.
Mrs. Dunn was a member of the Baptist Church in East Point, Ga., where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She also enjoyed making latch- hook rugs, which she gave to friends and people in need. Another of her favorite pastimes was sitting on the front porch looking out over the fields and watching the birds.
Survivors include her mother, Bonnie Fortina of Chino Valley; and daughter, Vickie Lynn Ray of McDonnough, Ga.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Chino Valley Community Church, located at 1969 Highway 89, with Pastor Richard Doerser Peacock officiating.

Gladys Layton
Gladys Layton, 95, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at Las Fuentes Care Center.
She was born Oct. 19, 1902, in Charleston, Ill., to Fred and Ethel (Greathouse) Bidle. She moved to Prescott from Dunedin, Fla., in 1995, to be near her son.
Mrs. Layton lived in the Midwest until her retirement; first in Terra Haute, Ind., and then in the Chicago area. She attended Brown Business School after graduating from high school. She met her first husband while employed at Western Union. At the time of her retirement, she was office manager for Western Paper Co.
Mrs. Layton had a very active retirement life in Florida. She was an accomplished ballroom dancer and won more than 40 trophies for exhibition dancing. She had always been very athletic, and won the Illinois State Women's Table Tennis Championship in 1939.
She enjoyed bowling and golfing., and enjoyed her membership and the fellowship at the Prescott United Methodist Church these last few years.
Survivors include her son, Jack of Prescott; sisters, Marian Coleman of Warren, Ohio, and Betty Sedlock of Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her three husbands.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Private cremation will be at Mountain View Cemetery, with burial in Illinois.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St., Prescott, AZ 86301.

Louis Grosso
Louis J. Grosso, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at Thunderbird Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.
Mr. Grosso was born May 9, 1919, in San Francisco, Calif., to Joseph and Letitia Grosso. He moved to Prescott in 1983, retiring after 32 years of employment at Roche Laboratories, a division of Hoffmann La-Roche. He was a senior divisional manager.
Mr. Grosso was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, and was a World War II veteran. He served on the board of directors for the Prescott Fine Arts Association and was the editor of their "play bill" for several years. He also served on the board of directors for Hidden Valley Association and the Homeowners Council.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude "Trudi"; son, Louis Kevin, and stepsons, Dirk and Bill.
A memorial Mass will be said at Sacred Heart Church in Prescott at a later date. A private cremation service was held.

Charles Saunders
Charles T. Saunders, 78, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997, in Prescott Valley.
He was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Norman and Marguerite (Oelze) Saunders.
He married Jeannette Johnson on June 5, 1942, in Queens, N.Y. They moved to Dewey in 1987 from Amityville, N.Y.
Mr. Saunders devoted more than four decades to the aircraft industry. He performed admirably during his 17 years with Grumman Aerospace Corp. with a top-secret clearance, earning many awards for his suggestions to improve flight safety and cost savings to hydraulic systems and to correct problems. This included a Citation for Excellence, as well as many Project Sterling Awards and the Apllo Achievement Award by NASA.
Mr. Saunders served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and received a diploma as an airplane engine maintenance man during his military service. Just before the war, he worked for Ranger Aircraft Corp. as an inspector on Ranger engines.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannette of Dewey; daughter, Margie Wilson of Belmont, Calif.; and two grandchildren. His son, Richard, preceded him in death in 1980.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.

Maxine Rogers
Maxine Rogers, 79, of Prescott, died Nov. 6, 1997.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Granite Gate Resort retirement community, 3850 N. Highway 89.

Robert D. Sullivan
Robert D. Sullivan, 77, of Prescott, died at his home on Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997.
Mr. Sullivan was born in Columbia Falls, Mont., on June 5, 1920, to Tim and Edna (Hamilton) Sullivan.
He graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman in 1942 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. He belonged to Alpha Gamma Rho, Alpha Chi Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi fraternities.
Mr. Sullivan married Georgette Escudier on Feb. 20, 1944. He worked for Shell Oil for 31 years as a chemist, retiring in 1971.
He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the Arizona Archaeological Society, the national and Prescott Audubon societies, the Sharlot Hall Museum and the Museum of Northern Arizona. In 1993, two Audubon Society educational scholarships were granted in his name.
Locally, Mr. Sullivan received Certificates of Appreciation from the Prescott Unified School District from 1988-92, and the Outstanding School Volunteer Award in 1992. This year, he received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Prescott City Council for preservation and improvement of the Stricklin Preserve.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Georgette; daughter, Michele Sullivan of Chadds Ford, Pa.; sons, Kenneth of Jannali, Australia, and Dennis of London, England; sisters, Muriel Rich of El Centro, Calif., and Phyllis E. Howe of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
A Quaker memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Great Hall, 125 S. Rush St.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Sullivan's name to Y.R.M.C. Hospice Restricted Fund, the Prescott Audubon Society, the Stricklin Preserve Fund or the Prescott Public Library.
