Dr. John Misenheimer
Dr. John D. Misenheimer, 67, died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.
He was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Mountain View, Ark., to Ira and Jennie (Dehls) Misenheimer.
Dr. Misenheimer graduated from Baylor University in Dallas, Texas, with a dental degree.
He was a member of Willow Hills First Southern Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for 35 years and taught adult classes. He also was involved with numerous church committees.
He was a trustee for Grand Canyon University for 19 years, a former member of the Prescott Kiwanis Club, past president of the Northern District Dental Society, and was a dental examiner.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Verda; son, Randy of Waxahachie, Texas; daughter, Lisa Phippen of Ft. Worth, Texas; brothers, Louis of Phoenix and Ralph of Mountain View, Ark.; sisters, Esther Cothron of Indio, Calif., Elizabeth Hagar of Dallas, Texas, and Ella Jean Shaw of Phoenix; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Prescott Mile High Middle School, 300 S. Granite St., with the Rev. Barry Norwood officiating. Private interment will be at Redwood Memorial Gardens in Dewey.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that friends remember the Willow Hills First Southern Baptist Church Building Fund, 122 N. Cortez St., Suite #105, Prescott, AZ 86301.

Betty Landrum
Betty J. Landrum, 70, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at a local care center.
She was born July 31, 1927, in Morecoff, Wyo., to Clyde and Annie Marie (Schlattmay) Allen. She had been a resident of Arizona for the past 65 years, and of Chino Valley for the past 15 years. She was a member of the Unity Church of Prescott.
Mrs. Landrum was very active in helping recovering alcoholics for more than 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Paul of Chino Valley; sons, Jerry of Mesa and Clifford of Chandler; daughter, Judy Dickie of Mesa; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Unity Church of Prescott, 145 S. Arizona St., with the Rev. Tom Catlin officiating.

Frances Hogan
Frances E. Hogan, 83, died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at Boulder Manor Living Center in Boulder, Colo.
She was born Dec. 14, 1913, in Lake Wilson, Minn., to James A. and Abby Dell (Miles) Hogan.
She was a graduate of a school of nursing in Sioux City, Iowa. She had been living in Boulder since March 1989, having moved there from Prescott.
She retired as a registered nurse with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Prescott. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of captain.
Survivors include 13 nieces and nephews; and her friend, Marian Engel of Boulder, Colo.
A private family memorial service will be held.

Erma Burba
Erma L. (Wood) Burba, 72, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at a local hospital.
She was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Sanger, Texas, to Arthur and Lucile (Baker) Holland. She moved to Arizona from California in 1947, and lived in the Phoenix area until she moved to Prescott in 1986.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene on Willow Creek Road.
Mrs. Burba devoted her life to services, including the Salvation Army, Yavapai County Meals on Wheels, and was an active supporter of the American Legion for over 48 years. She was a local Legion member.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin of Prescott; daughters Betty Townsend, Glenda Bramlet and Mary Roden, all of Arizona, and Linda Latham, Nancy Evert and Jeannie York, all of Texas; sister, Ann L. Laws of Oklahoma; brother, James Holland of Tennessee; 13 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene on Willow Creek Road, with Pastor McDonald officiating.

Nelda Alexander
Nelda Alexander, 80, died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at her home in Prescott.
She was born March 14, 1917, in Milan, Kan., to John and Anna (Carter) Ohnemiller. She moved to Arizona from her native Kansas in 1943.
She was a member of the Prescott Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Russell; nephew, Ervin Ohnemiller of Wellington, Kan.; and nieces, Louise Kirkwood of Argonia, Kan., and Linda Davis of Kingman, Kan.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Chapel Mortuary, with Don Hooton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the mortuary. Interment will be in Kansas.

Robert Comstock
Robert T. Comstock, 62, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at his home in Boise, Idaho, after a courageous battle against cancer.
Mr. Comstock was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Prescott. He attended St. Joseph's Academy through the 10th grade, then transferred to, and graduated from, Prescott High School in 1953.
Mr. Comstock was a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1953 through 1957. He was stationed in San Antonio, Texas; Biloxi, Miss., and in Germany, where he was a flight simulator instructor for F-86 fighter planes.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1957, he worked for Perkins Engineering in Redondo Beach, Calif. then Sam Hendricks Electrical Contracting in Prescott until 1961, at which time he became employed by Bagdad Copper Company (Cyprus Minerals).
During his tenure with Cyprus, Mr. Comstock held many positions in that company, rising from entry level laborer in Bagdad to concentrator manager at Cyprus Sierrita in Tucson and Tonopah, Nev., to project manager in Bagdad and Cyprus Sierrita, retiring on Jan. 31, 1997, as manager of outsourcing control in Miami, Ariz., following 35 years of dedicated service.
Mr. Comstock's hobbies included woodworking and carving, silver smithing, RV traveling and reading.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Boise, Idaho; son, Michael of Tempe; daughter, Cathy Jensby of Reno, Nev.; stepson, Richard Giampedraglia; stepdaughter, Lisa Utley of Challis, Idaho; brothers, Bill of Prescott and Tom and Jerry of Reno, Nev.; sisters, Velma Chesney of Texas, Betty Stewart and Nora May Miller, both of Prescott, and Pat Betzen of Woodward, Okla.; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and two brothers.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury Ave., with Fr. Dick Farrell, C.M.F., officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1051 Willow Creek Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society in Mr. Comstock's memory.

Archibald Downie
Archibald "Arch" Downie, 82, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 18, 1915, in Weehawken, N.J., to Archibald and Margaret (Ameil) Downie. He moved to Prescott from Westfield, N.J., in 1983.
Mr. Downie had been an engineer in the procurement department for American Cyanamid Company and for Stone & Webster Eng. Corp., retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of Aztlan Lodge #1, F & AM in Prescott, Atlas Pythagoras Lodge #10, F & AM in Westfield, N.J., and the Phoenix Scottish Rite Bodies.
Mr. Downie loved the feel of a beautiful piece of wood. He enjoyed what his mind could envision in the wood, and what his hands and artistic abilities could create through carving and sculpture.
Survivors include his wife, Muriel, whom he married in 1946; sons, Howard of Prescott, and Douglas of Davis, Calif.; sisters, Elizabeth Calvi of DelRay Beach, Fla., and Ellen Ploeger of Silver Springs, Md.; and four grandchildren.
Private cremation was at Mountain View Cemetery.
