January 9th will forever be marked with sadness for the Abeyta family who lost a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and role model on that day.
Born in Tucumcari, New Mexico, Leandra Antonia Abeyta (nee Lopez), came from humble beginnings. There she met the love of her life, Vicente Roberto Abeyta, whom she married after a short courtship. The love they felt for each other in those early years never waned and after more than 60 years of matrimony they have fulfilled their vows proving that it truly was only death that could make them part.
