Blanche A. Smith
Blanche A. Smith born June 26, 1925 passed away on June 13, 2010 at her home after a battle with cancer. She had been a resident of Sun City since 2005. She is survived by her husband W.W. Smith, her three children, Bill Griffin of Sun City, Dixie Kley of Texas, Michele Cardenas of California, along with two stepdaughters, Cathy Madigan, and Patti McElhiney. Also many grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. She was world traveler. Whether she overcame the cancer or lost the battle, she always considered herself “a winner” Her faith sustained her. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 17, 2010 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. The family suggests donations be made to the Cancer Foundation in lieu of flowers.

B. Clark Hicks
B. Clark Hicks, 89, of Sun City passed away July 2, 2010. Born in Nez Perce, Idaho, Mr. Hicks served in the US Army during WWII. He moved to Arizona in 1958 from Idaho and worked as a hospital Pharmacist. Survivors include his wife Gloria of Sun City West, daughter Pamela Wagner of Sun City, sister Martha Palmer of Georgia; grandchildren Erynne Garcia and Erik Bixby and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Donations are suggested to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 2600 Network Blvd., Ste.300, Frisco, TX 75034.

Angeline H. Brooks
Angeline Salem Brooks, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and friend born August 31st, 1914, in Lansing Michigan, went to the lord on March 5, 2010.
Angeline came to Arizona in 1933 to marry grocer and businessman Edward Salem of Douglas, Arizona. She spent her life in Douglas in close relationships with children, in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. Angeline was preceded in death by her mother Victoria and father Norman Hanna. Angeline is the last of the In-laws who were like brothers and sisters. They include the families of Alyce and Ray Borane and Ramona and Edward Sawaya. Angeline was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and contributed much to her church community. In later years, Angeline lived in Phoenix, Nogales and Detroit. Her life was filled with tending to her children and family. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle enthusiast and creatively crocheted many afghans for family and friends. Her family was frequently blessed with the essence of her excellent Lebanese cooking. Everyone called her, “Sito.” If they heard she was cooking, the house would fill with her adoring loved ones. Sito was dedicated to the rosary and her whispers of prayer in the night was a comfort to all. Angeline worked in the insurance industry as an office manager and enjoyed time spent with fellow employees. Her long, productive life leaves footprints on countless hearts. Her generosity to anyone in need was limitless. All were welcome at the Salem family home in Douglas. Seldom was the house void of family or friend. Angeline was a family icon and her presence will always be with us.
Angeline is survived by 5 devoted children. Ralph (Debbie) of Maricopa, AZ, Edward John Sr. (Jo Ann) of Peoria, AZ, Carol Ann Rivas of Phoenix, AZ., Mark Salem (Ranae) Tempe, AZ and Melinda Jackson of Cottonwood, AZ. Also Shirley Salem, Phoenix, AZ. Grandchildren include, Ralph Salem (Sueanne), Christopher Salem, Cathy Pulickal (Lionel), Mike Rose (Teri), Angela Jablonski (Tim), Edward John Salem, Jr., Michelle Contreras (Mike), Timothy Salem, Mario Gregory (Kim), Michael Gregory (Jacque), Teri Gregory, Mark Rivas, Ranee Rivas, Allison Salem, Alan Salem (Heather), Andi Salem, Joe Mulcaire (Rachel), Heather Mulcaire (Chris Williamson), Heidi Monday (Beale), and KW Mulcaire. Angeline had 33 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She has many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her and always were an important part of her long, happy life.

Mazie Kamryn Oyler
Mazie Kamryn Oyler, 14, born in Glendale, May 12, 1996, passed away June 3, 2010. Mazie is survived by her mother Kamryn West; brother Tyler Oyler; grandparents Gene & Lois Oyler and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and other family. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. with funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Menke Funeral Home Chapel, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ.

Brandon Dwight Lewis
Brandon Dwight Lewis, was born on September 15, 1981, and passed from this life on May 9, 2010. He was a Phoenix native and attended Phoenix Christian High School and graduated from Centennial High School in 2000.
Brandon leaves behind the light of his life, his precious son, Kaleb. He is also survived by his life companion and mother of Kaleb, Nicol Ipson, mother Leann Duvall, step mother Renee Zahniser, father Gordy Lewis, step mother Jenny Lewis, grandmother Billie Lewis, sister Bevi Denning (Dustin), step siblings Justin McLain (Julie), Chase Sapp (Lauren), Jennifer McLain, Jessica McLain, Chelsea Hadlock (Adam), and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Brandon was an amazing father, son and brother. He was an outstanding athlete and an accomplished golfer. He played on the 1999 Phoenix Christian State Championship team and in 2000, while with Centennial High School, shot a hole in one while finishing third in the State tournament.
He will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to the service on Friday, May 14, 2010, at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ.
Reception following at his mother’s home.

Shirley C. Coyle
Shirley C. Coyle, 71, of Sun City passed away May 19, 2010. Born in Springfield Township, PA, Shirley moved to Arizona in 1961. She is survived by her brothers Gerald T. and Norman L.; sisters Helen Donnini and Mary Buell. Private arrangements were made by Menke Funeral Home.

George E. Smorra
George E. Smorra 83, of Sun City, AZ passed away May 18, 2010. George was born October 22, 1926 in Niles, Ohio to Adam and Amelia (Alexy) Smorra. He served his country in the US Navy. He married Lillian Druschel, June 7, 1947. During his career, George was the Vice President for a wholesale plumbing supply company in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, retiring to Sun City in 1987, where he was a member of Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lillian; son Allan (Deborah) Smorra; grandson Michael (Mary Ann) Smorra; great grand-daughter Nicolette Smorra; sister Eleanor Smorra and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers and sisters. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church, 11025 N. 111th Ave., Sun City, AZ. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.

Kenneth P. Damiani
Kenny was born on August 7, 1958, in Phoenix, AZ, to Leonard and Cecilia Damiani. Kenny touched many hearts and will be greatly missed by all. He left us suddenly, but we know he has been greeted by our mom and dad in heaven who preceded him in death. Kenny is survived by his son, Brandon, and his many siblings including 3 brothers, Leonard (Leanne), Michael (Terri) and John Damiani and his 5 sisters: Sheila (Randy) Ray, Theresa and Barbara Damiani, Beverley (Dave) Friedman, and Susie Smith, nine nieces and nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews, Sr. Rose Marie Holden and Sr. Angela Aldi, many cousins, extended family including Nicholas (Leslie), Ameliah and Michael Jacott, lifelong friends, Shane Spaulding, Jake Long, Jimmy Martinez, the Anderson Family and many others. A celebration of Kenny’s life will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Glendale 5-7 p.m. including a Rosary at 6 pm on Friday, May 21st and a Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 22nd at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to OLPH School 5614 W. Orangewood, Glendale, AZ 85301

Wilburn David Williamson
Wilburn David Williamson, 71, of Sun City passed away April 20, 2010. He was born April 26, 1938 in Dover, Arkansas to Scott & Della Williamson who precede him in death. Also preceding him are his brothers George & Doyle Williamson. A retired logger, he moved to Sun City in 1999 from Arkansas. He is survived by his wife Harriett. Private interment services were held at Sunwest Cemetery in El Mirage, AZ.

Michael Wayne Fuqua
Michael Wayne Fuqua, 51, of Glendale, Arizona died at 8:00 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010 of a brain aneurysm while a patient at Boswell Memorial Hospital, Sun City, Arizona. Michael was born December 25, 1959, in National City, California and during his lifetime primarily worked as a warehouse supervisor in Arizona and Washington state.
He is survived by his mother Barbara Fuqua of Sun City, Arizona and father Robert Fuqua of Clarkdale, Arizona; sister Deborah A. Burris of
Mesa, Arizona; daughter Korrie Ann Jensen of Goodyear, Arizona; granddaughter Kyleigh Ann Jensen of Prescott Valley, Arizona; uncles Frank and Rusty Fuqua; uncle Kenneth Powell, and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Frank and Elsie Fuqua; Howard and Freda Gipson; aunt Betty Jean Powell.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Avenue, Sun City, Arizona.

Judy Ann Farmer
Farmer, Judy Ann, 62 of Peoria, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2010 in the arms of her daughters from a six week battle with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia. Judy was born on April 3, 1948 in Topeka, Kansas and was a graduate of Alhambra High School. Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was survived by her mother Beverly Nutter of Sun City; her daughter Angie Kumm and her husband Brian; her daughter Amy Pestka and her husband Scott; six grandchildren (Brandon, Maddie, Nate, Owen, Wyatt, and Sofia), her sister Barbara and Bob Prince and sister Mary Lou and Ken Richardson; five nieces and nephews and their families Scott, Shad, Lisa, Cheralyn and Matt and 12 great nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her father Darrell R. Nutter. Judy was an active member in her church community and faithful servant to the Lord. She was rich with friendships and generous to all. She will be greatly missed by her family, her friends and all whose lives she touched. Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held Monday, May 3, 2010 at 11:00am with visitation beginning at 10:00am at Crosspoint Christian Church, 8600 W. Glendale Avenue, Glendale, 85305. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crosspoint Christian Church.
