Dorothy Lee Meckem
Dorothy Meckem, born August 21, 1925, passed from this life on May 2, 2013 at the Haven Care and Rehab Center in Camp Verde, Arizona.
Dorothy was born August 21, 1925 in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. Dorothy's parents moved to Arizona when she was young and Dorothy graduated from Mingus Union High School in Cottonwood, Arizona she then worked at the Soda Springs Dude Ranch in Rimrock, Arizona where she met and married Ed Meckem in 1945.
Dorothy and Ed moved to Alaska in 1963 and returned to Arizona in 1971.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Ed and her brother Cliff Jergins. She is survived by her brother Jim Jergins, her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Tina Meckem of Camp Verde, daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Dan Brotzler of Minnesota and daughter Christina Vess of Camp Verde, 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Dorothy's Memorial Service will be held at VFW Post 6739, 277 W. Hwy 260, Camp Verde on Saturday May 25, 2013 at 1 PM.

Mary Ernestine Murdock
Mary Ernestine Murdock, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2013. Born in Jerome, AZ October 1927. She was the first child born to Ernest and Mary Jo Orr. She was a graduate of Camp Verde High School where she met her husband of 67 years Walter W. Murdock. She is survived by her loving husband, 6 children, Francis Reedy, Frank Murdock (Peggy), Albert Murdock (Janie), Donald Murdock (Jonna), Amelia Franks (Shane) and Toni Harris (Jeff), 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother Marion Orr, Joe Reedy, Suzie Tasa, Rainee & Randy Reedy.

Ginna Johnson
A new angel entered Heaven's gates on April 28, 2013 at 9:45am. Ginna Johnson, 58, of Rimrock Arizona, left this world peacefully with her family by her side.
Ginna is survived by her loving husband Dennie of 37 years, three children, Danial, Lora and Dennie, six grandchildren, her mother and father-in-law, father, two siblings and four nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by all but her memory will live within us forever. Now she will be able to spread her wings and guard us from above. We love you Mom.
Calvert T. Miller
Cal Miller, was born in Highland Park Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. He entered the U.S. Army in March of 1943 and was assigned to the 82 Airborne Division. Cal participated in the Normandy invasion, the Market Garden campaign, and the Battle of the Bulge.
After WWII, Cal spent 22 years with the Arizona Republic newspaper retiring in 1986. Cal was a long time member of the National Rifle Assoc., and enjoyed exploring and camping in the Arizona forest as well as riding dirt bikes and street bikes well into his 80’s. Cal was also a HAM radio operator.
Cal was a born again Christian and served in a number of local churches in Camp Verde and Cottonwood.

Melvin Leroy Reeves
Melvin Reeves, 72 years old of Cottonwood Arizona passed away on April 16 2013.He was born on Nov. 16 th 1940 in Cottonwood to Edward and Sybil Reeves (Wright.) He was a veteran of the United States Army. Melvin worked for the United States postal service In Klamath Falls Oregon where he retired. He then moved back to Cottonwood where he built his home and resided for 16 years with his wife Bonnie and little dog sparky.
Mel was a trap shooter and participated in trap shoots across the West coast. He enjoyed boating on Lake Powell. He restored old classic cars, his latest venture being a 1940 Ford deluxe. Most of all he was an American hunter and sportsman.
Mel is survived by his wife Bonnie of 33 years, two sons Aaron Reeves of Keno Oregon and Brett Reeves of Eugene Oregon. He also had three step children Shane Blofsky of Brookings Oregon, Teresa McEvoy of Reno Nevada and Jayson Blofsky of Visalia California. Mel had 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Mel is survived by his sister Mavis Dick, brothers Steve Reeves and Michael Reeves. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Ed and Sybil Reeves and older brother Ray Reeves.
Mel was loved by all that knew him. Gifts can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
Daymon Carl Adcock
Daymon Carl Adcock, 51, of Rimrock, also known as "Captain," passed away April 3, 2013.
Carl was born in Tustin, California. He loved to build and fly remote-controlled model airplanes and had an extensive collection. He worked most recently at Hanson's Cement Plant as a heavy equipment operator in Clarkdale, AZ.
Although Carl battled ALS, he had the most amazing attitude throughout! Positive and witty, he inspired all who were privileged to spend time with him.
Carl leaves behind his daughter Mandy; stepchildren Dylan, Nicole, Jimmy, Freddie, Bonnie, and Joseph; sisters Brenda and Linda; nieces Lily, Brandi, and Jennifer; and fiancée Susan.
Services for Carl were held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Camp Verde Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Arthur "Hyler" Resser
Arthur "Hyler" Resser, 87, of Green Valley and formerly of Elgin, Ill., passed away Sunday, May 18, 2003, at La Posada Care Center.
He was born Dec. 13, 1915, in Sheridan, Ill., the son of Ben and Josephine Pitzer Resser. He was a veteran of World War II, serving on the 8th Army Air Corps, 305 Bomb group and flew 35 missions as a tail gunner.
He was employed by First National Bank of Elgin as Executive Vice President before retiring. In 1980, he and his wife Evelyn moved to Green Valley. He was a member of Valley Presbyterian Church, the V.F.W., and was an active bowler and golfer.
Evelyn, his wife of 50 years, preceded him in death in 1988. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Fred Resser.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Velva Clemmer Resser; a son, James (Linda) Resser of St. Charles, Ill.; two grandchildren, Samantha and Adam Resser; and three step children, Judy, Rudy and loving Pam.
Funeral services were held on Friday May 23, in Elgin. Burial with full military honors was at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.

Ruth E. Brondyk
Ruth E. Brondyk, 80, of West Bend, Wis., formerly of Libertyville, Ill., passed away on Monday, May 12, 2003. She was born in White Cloud, Mich., the daughter of the late John and Aina (Rantanen) Staugas. She married Harold D. Brondyk on June 28, 1947, and he preceded her in death on June 11, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Leonard Staugas, William Staugas, and Kenneth Staugas.
She was a registered nurse for over 31 years, working as a school nurse the last 12 years with Libertyville Grade School District 70. Retirement years were spent in Brevard, N.C. In 1999, Ruth moved to Green Valley, where she made many dear friends. Her last three months she was in West Bend, Wis. to be nearer family.
Ruth made friends wherever she traveled, she'll be remembered for her gift of communication with family and friends.
She is survived by four daughters, Julie (Charlie) Brown of Rock Hill, S.C., Connie (George) Anderson of Fond Du Lac, Wis., Bettie (Paul) Downie of Fort Wayne, Ind., Margie (Jim) Brooksher of Grayslake, Ill.; one son William (Laura) Brondyk of Mansfield, Mass.; and 10 grandchildren.
Friends can share memories of Ruth at her memorial service on Saturday, June 7, 2003, at 2 p.m. The service will be held at the Libertyville Sports Complex, Conference Room 3, 1950 N Highway 45, Libertyville, IL. Juanita "Nita" Schwartz
Juanita "Nita" Schwartz, 77, of Green Valley, died June 3, 2003 after many years of debilitating silent strokes. She was a resident of Santa Rita Care Center for the past year.
Nita became a resident of Arizona in 1992, moving from her native Kansas to Green Valley with her husband of 56 years, George.
Nita was born July 9, 1925 in Wichita, Kan., to John and Mildred Parradee. She attended Wichita schools and graduated from Wichita High School North in 1943. After graduation, she attended sheet metal school and learned the art of riveting.
She was employed by the Boeing Airplane Co. Wichita Division in the fall of 1943. Nita was one of the thousands of patriotic women working in the war plants of World War II; those women who became affectionately known as "Rosie the Riveter."
Her job as riveter was in the forward fuselage section of the B-29 Bomber. She was on the B-29 production line when the 1,000th B-29 rolled down the line. The B29 Superfortress was one of America's most powerful weapons that hastened the end of World War II.
In 1947, Nita and George met while taking dance lessons. They decided to become permanent partners and were wed in June 1947.

Resident of Silver Springs, Green Valley. Loving husband of Jean Keener Swartz for 66 years. Devoted father of four children: Judy Allan of Houston, Texas, Janet (Paul) Rowland of Green Valley, Diana (Chip) Miller of Cornelius, N.C., and Paul (Carol) Swartz of Dublin, Ohio. He also is survived by sister Ruth Bott of Kettering, Ohio.
Bryce had a 44-year career with Gulf Oil Corp. in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Houston. He and Jean enjoyed many friendships in retirement while being in Florida, Texas, Colorado and Arizona.
A memorial service will be held at Silver Springs, Green Valley, on Monday, June 30, at 11 a.m.. Reception to follow. Remembrances may be made to the Celiac Association/USA.
Mary A. (Crosby) Viccaro
She went to sleep with the Angels Saturday, May 31, 2003, at age 81. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Leonard A. Viccaro; children James R.(Vicki), Leonard M.(Gail), David M. (Sherry), Donald P. Viccaro; daughters Connie M. (Ron) Wood, Dianne P. (Bruce) Beisheim; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mary was past president and Life Member of the North Greece Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Delco 30 year club, LAFASNY ( Ladies Auxiliary Firemans Association of New York), and Aquabelles of Green Valley.
A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday in New York. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to our Lady of The Valley Catholic Church, 507 La Canada Dr. Green Valley, AZ 85614 in her memory.
Donald S. Maglott
Donald S. Maglott of Green Valley and Ann Arbor, Mich., died peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2003, after a short illness. He was born April 26, 1918 in Kenton, Ohio, to Donald S. and Ione (Price) Maglott Sr.
He grew up in Bowling Green, Ohio, where he graduated Bowling Green State University in 1939. He was an officer in the Air Force during W.W.II and Korea, and then worked for the Ford Motor Co. for more than four decades before retiring in 1988.
He had lived in Ann Arbor for the past 33 years, and was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. Recently, he was also an active affiliate member of Community Methodist Church in Green Valley, where he spent large portions of the year.
His wife of more than 5O years, the former Eleanor Marie Epley, and their daughter, Linda C:. Maglott, both preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, David E.. Maglott (Charlotte) of Germantown, Md., and two daughters, Christine A. Maglott of Barrington, Ill., and Lisa E. M.. (Ben) Yates of Sterling, Va. He also leaves six grandchildren, including Laura (Eric) Babe of Ann Arbor, Andrew (Emily) Maglott of Burton, 0hio, and Adam, Matthew, David, and Linda Yates, all of Sterling, Va., and four great-grandsons, Duncan, Carl, and Gregory Babe, of Ann Arbor, and Nathan Maglott, of Burton.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 13, and 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, at MuehIig Funeral Chapel in Ann Arbor.
Louise C. Pixley
Louise C. Pixley, 86, of Green Valley, passed away on June 1, 2003.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Pantoja; sons Gordon (Joyce) and John Pixley; grandchildren Paul, Cindy, Christy, Mark, Lilly, Delia and three great grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louise's name to an Alzheimer's or cancer charity. Arrangements by Desert Rose Cremation and Burial, Tucson.
Pauline W. Rutherford
Pauline W. Rutherford, 87, a resident of Green Valley for 37 years, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2003.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Henry R., sister Irene (Jesse) Osborn, brother Truman (Rudene) West, and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was born in Loveland, Okla., on Feb. 21, 1916. With her husband, who was employed by Creole Petroleum. She lived in Venezula for 18 years. In 1966, when he retired, they moved to Green Valley.
She was a charter member of Aquabelles and belonged to the Green Valley Community Church.
She loved life and people.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at the Community Church, with the Rev. Louis Lyon officiating. Interment in South Lawn Cemetery, Tucson.
