Aurora Irene Sanders
June 10, 2009

Longtime former Sedona resident and spiritual teacher, Aurora Irene Sanders, 84, of Glenwood Springs, Colo., died on June 10.
She is survived by her son Pete, his wife Debbie and her two grandsons, Brian and Michael, all of Sedona.
Her spirit lives on through her students. Her body was donated at her request to the University of Colorado Medical School.
No donations please; merely celebrate life each day and explore.

Dorothy M. Serulnic
July 13, 1914 — June 28, 2009

Dorothy M. Serulnic, 94, of Sedona died June 28. She was born July 13, 1914, in St. Louis, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, George Serulnic, five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held in her home.

Elizabeth “Bette” Simmons
Aug. 19, 1919 — June 21, 2009

Bette Simmons of Dallas, formerly of the Village of Oak Creek, died peacefully June 21.
She is survived by son Lance Bonham of Sunnyvale, Calif., daughter, Roxanne Burke of Dallas, Texas, and five grandchildren, Chris, Geoff, Natalie, Travis, and Tyler.
She was a remarkable lady and her spirit will be missed.

Elna K. Watson
Aug. 9, 1932 — July 26, 2009

Elna K. Watson, 76, of Camp Verde, passed away on July 26. She was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Lockney, Texas.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 3, at the Verde Valley Christian Church in Cottonwood. Visitation was followed by a funeral service, and burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale. Westcott Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.

Herbert A. Friedman
Aug. 12, 1923 — Aug. 3, 2009

Herbert A. Friedman, 85, of Sedona, died Aug. 3. He was born Aug. 12, 1923, in New York City.
He is survived by his wife Roselyn; sons David (Kim), and Bruce (Kathy); daughters, Sharon Thompson (Don) and Karen Maiale (Nicholas); five grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Aug. 6 in the Westcott Funeral Home. VFW Post No. 7400 provided military honors. Burial will be in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

James L. Robeson
Dec. 27, 1923 — Aug. 29, 2009

James L. Robeson, 85, of Sedona, died Aug. 29. He was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Elizabethton, Tenn. He is survived by wife, Dixie L. Robeson; brothers Ed and Lloyd Robeson; sister Lois Wagner; sister-in-law Joyce Robeson; sons James W. (Darlene) Robeson and Mike (Joyce) Brown; daughters Judith Robeson and Marcia Boyles, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Westcott Funeral Home at 10 a.m.
Donations: Old Town Mission or Northern Arizona Hospice.

Laurie A. MacLeod
Monday, April 9, 2007

Laurie Andrews MacLeod, 96, of Sedona, died April 9.
A graduate of the New York Central School of Art, MacLeod pursued a career of painting throughout her lifetime. She married artist and writer Robert MacLeod, who preceded her in death.
MacLeod is lovingly remembered by her family, her many friends and her caregivers as a beautiful lady, caring and loving, with an indomitable spirit.

Leanora Jane Smith
May 3, 1925 — May 6, 2009

Leanora Jane “Jaine” Smith, of Sedona, died May 6. She was born May 3, 1925, in Chattanooga, Tenn., the only daughter of Samuel White and Jane Cunnyingham.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bruce, in March 2000. She is survived by both sons, David and Gilbert, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her commitment to friends and love of family. A celebration of life will be at her home in Pine Valley on Saturday, May 16.

Lloyd H. Bremer, M.D.
July 26, 2007

Lloyd H. Bremer, M.D., of the Village of Oak Creek, died July 26.
Survivors include his wife, Nina; daughter, Ann Elizabeth; sons Paul [Geri], Christopher [Judith] and Robb; sisters Susan, Deborah and Terry; and two grandchildren.
Private services will be at a later date at Cape Cod, Mass.
In lieu of flowers send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Lloyd H. Bremer.

Lorraine A. Johnson
May 17, 1923 — Jan. 27, 2009

Lorraine Adelynne Johnson, 85, of Bemidji, Minn., died Jan. 27, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Jean Anderson. She is survived by daughters Rebecca Bastien of Bemidji, Minn.; Vicki Johnson of Bemidji, Minn.; son: Donald (Linda) Johnson of Sedona; brothers Myron (LaVonne) Boe of Lompoc, Calif. and Granville (Shirley) Boe of Calloway, Minn.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials to North Country Hospice, Bemidji Senior Nutrition Program or First Lutheran Church of Bemidji in Minnesota.

Louis Clyde Goldenstein
September 27, 1924 — April 16, 2009

Louis Clyde Goldenstein died April 16. He passed four months to the day after his beloved Daisy, his wife. In 1967 they purchased the historic Adobe Ranch, south of Camp Verde, moving there in 1970. He and Daisy lived in Camp Verde 36 years.
He is survived by brothers Robert and John Goldenstein, children Steve and Linda Goldenstein, grandchildren Heather Vidal, Crystal, Sean and Mallory Goldenstein, Tanya Sonn and Cheston Trammel, 5 great-grandchildren and loving caregiver Carmen Orrellanos.

Louis Wilson Jr.
March 29, 1934 — March 29, 2009

Louis Wilson Jr., Sedona, died Sunday, March 29, on his 75th birthday.
After 20 years with IBM and 20 years as a chiropractor, Wilson retired to Sedona in 2005.
Survivors are wife Joan, Sedona; son Louis Wilson III, Phoenix; stepson Ron Kamlin, Phoenix; daughter Carole Wilson, Sacramento Calif.; stepdaughters Marian Kamlin, United Arab Emirates and Audrey Scheven, Phoenix; sister Ella Conaway, Mobile Ala.; and six grandchildren.
Friends are invited to a memorial service at the Latter Day Saints church, Sedona, Thursday, April 16, at 11 a.m.

Lowell A. Chase
Jan. 11, 1930 — June 22, 2009

Lowell A. Chase died on June 22.
He worked his way through college at Oneona State College and then, during a stint in the Army, he met and married Marlee (Daller), his wife of almost 55 years. Lowell worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for over 28 years. Lowell has two sons, Derek (Gray) and Gordon (Jolane), three grandsons, Evan, Brannan and Gabriel and a granddaughter, Adeline Quincy. He will be greatly missed not only by his family but by his friends and loyal tennis buddies.

Margaret Jaegers
April 15, 1919 – May 5, 2007

Margaret Jaegers, 88, of Cottonwood, died Saturday, May 5.
Jaegers, who became a U.S. citizen in 1956, and worked at the Gingerbread House Daycare in Sedona, was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; and son, Gerald. Jaegers is survived by children Henry [Gail] Jaegers, Carole Schickler, Anita [James] Giblin, Linda [Scott] Sohlman and Marian [Frank] Sirignano; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering took place May 9 at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.

Marie G. Packer
Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008

Marie Greene Packer, a longtime resident of Sedona, died Feb. 6.
Mother of two children, Sylvia and James, Packer is survived by her husband of 70 years, Floyd Packer; a son, James; six grandchildren; one great-grandson and innumerable nieces and nephews.
Graveside ceremonies were Wednesday, Feb.13, at 11 a.m., at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix.
Contributions to Girls Ranch of Sedona Auxillary, 715 W. Mariposa Street, Phoenix 85013.
