Robert Fleury
Robert Fleury, 80, of Kingman passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, in Kingman. He was born Nov. 13, 1930, in St. Claire, Mich., and came to the Mohave County area 40 years ago. Robert served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 22 years, retiring as a master sergeant.
Robert is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia; two daughters, Kathy (John) Huntley and Debbie Essig; one grandson, Jason Essig; two great-grandkids; and numerous brothers and sisters. Private services with the immediate family will be held.
Antonia Fernandez
My aunt and godmother, Antonia "Toni" Fernandez, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Sept. 27, 1920. While visiting here in Kingman, her little 90-year-old body just couldn't hang on any longer and she passed to be with her parents, daughter and siblings on Nov. 6, 2010. She is survived by her son, Dennis Torregrosa of Tucson; her granddaughter, Kim (Dane) Ayers of Florida; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Our family will celebrate her life here in Kingman at my mother's (her sister's) resting place Thanksgiving weekend with prayer, memories and thanks to God for letting us have her 90 years. She will later be laid to rest on Long Island, N.Y., as she wished, along with her husband, Angelo, and daughter, Celeste, in the Great South Bay.
She was just here to visit us from Florida when she became ill, but prior to that, we had a wonderful visit and talked about everything and anything from her childhood to just life in general. Even though she passed here while visiting, I realize how lucky I was to have that time with her. So priceless. Thank God for giving her to us for that time before she passed.
I just want to say that if you are lucky enough to have a loved one in their last stages of their lives, cherish it, cherish it with all that you have and all your heart. Be patient.
If they say the same thing 10 times, act like it's the first time you heard it. If they ask you to do something for them, do it, don't wait. They don't have much time to wait.
Whether it's a simple special drink they desire or a special food item, get it for them. Even if they don't drink it, even if they take one bite of that special food item then want something different, so what? It's not going to hurt you to take a minute or two out of your life to take care of their needs. They deserve it. And you'll be a better person for it.
No one wants to be so helpless, no one. She worked most of her life, retiring in New York, then again in Florida. She never thought she was going to be dependent on anyone, and consistently said she was sorry and thanked me over and over. She did not care for being what she called "helpless and humiliated" to have someone have to take care her most embarrassing needs, but I assured her I did it with thanks to her for being in my life and my love for her.
And I, Marguerite McCoy, did it with the utmost respect and honor, as did my husband, George, and my son, Marco.
So again, my request to you is be patient, take that time. Remember that we won't be young forever, that someday you may need someone too, and your loved one deserves every single minute you can give.
Donna I. Kelly
Donna I. Kelly, 51, of Kingman journeyed home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, after a three and a half year battle with metastasized breast cancer.
She was born Aug. 2, 1959, in Charleston, Ill., and was preceded in death by her father, Donald Anderson.
Donna is survived by her father-in-law, Roy Newton of Kingman; mother, Faye Newton of Kingman; sister, Beth (Jim) Martin of Canadian, Texas; and two sons, Jimmy of Canadian and Tim (Abbie) of Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.
Donna spent her last 10 years with her significant other, Mike Colwell, EA, of Kingman and their female dachshund, Abbie. During those years she assisted Mike in running his business, 1040 Express Tax Service, until he sold it in early 2009.
Traveling was her passion, and she and Mike vacationed frequently. Her favorite destination was Kauai, Hawaii, where she spent much of her time enjoying the beautiful flowers and waterfalls. She always hoped heaven would be so lovely.
Donna spent her last nine days at the Joan and Diana Hospice Home, where she, her family and friends were treated with the utmost dignity and respect, for which we are all very grateful.
Donna was very giving in life and death, as she has graciously donated her body to science through Med Cure. Lietz-Fraze is handling transfer arrangements, and her remains will be cremated.
Blessed lady, you will be missed by many. Rest in peace, my dear.
Marion Elizabeth Watson
Marion Elizabeth Watson was born April 10, 1921, and died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, in her home surrounded by family.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; son, John David; and siblings, Dorothy, Howard and John. She is survived by brother, Wayne Weir; children, William "Bill" (LaDonna) Watson, Gary (Janet) Watson, Nancy (Ernie, deceased) Fancher; grandchildren, Wayne, Keneen, Preston, Meredith, Amanda, Aubree and Jacob; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Marion was born in Pittsburgh, moved to Phoenix in 1945, and then to Kingman in 1955. She was a force for good in our community. Her natural leadership and fearless tenacity inspired many civic initiatives, notably Kingman Aid to Abused People, Girl Scout Camp Stevens and the Kingman Cancer Care Unit.

Beth Renee Buckner-Belanger
Beth Renee Buckner-Belanger passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Phoenix at the age of 54 after a long fight with health problems due to a car accident in 1997.
She was born Nov. 18, 1955, in Muskegon, Mich., and was raised in Jugville, Mich. After she married Damian Belanger on Sept. 13, 1975, she moved to Lake Leelanau, Mich. In 1991, they moved to Kingman where she has resided ever since.
Beth is survived by her husband, Damian; her two daughters, Jeannette Chandler (husband Damon) and Elizabeth Belanger; son, Bruce Belanger; ex-son-in-law, James Todd; three grandsons, Matthew, Joshua and Alexander Todd; and a granddaughter, Dawna Hanson; a sister, Marsha Roberts; three brothers, Lonny Taylor, Harold and Bryan Buckner; stepfather, Bruce Wixson and stepmother, Lynda Buckner; as well as many who called her Mom and she had taken them into her home and heart.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Erma Taylor-Wixson; father, Harold Buckner; son, J.D. Belanger; and two grandchildren.
She had a profound effect on many lives and was instrumental in helping many of us pull our lives together. Every teenager who walked through her door she treated as her own, therefore, she had an enormous amount of unofficially adopted children.
She was very loved and dear to many people's hearts and will be greatly missed by many. Please share all the wonderful memories with all who loved her dearly.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at the Loyal Order of Moose, 302 Monroe St., Kingman.
In lieu of flowers, a trust has been set up for her grandchildren for whom she lived.
Gerard Gatineau
Gerard Pierre Gatineau Sr. passed away in Kingman on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010.
Born in St. Helena, Quebec, Canada, on May 7, 1920, Mr. Gatineau came to the U.S. at an early age and was proud to gain American citizenship. Mr. Gatineau served his country and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He spent most of his childhood and adult life in northeastern Connecticut. He worked for many years at Kaman Aircraft in Moosup, Conn., and retired from there in 1985. He then moved from Dayville, Conn., to Florida to spend his retirement in warmth and comfort, and recently relocated to Arizona.
He was a skilled handyman and as a hobby created many items in wood as well as paintings, most of which he donated to local charities.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elli, in 1995, and by a son, Dennis Koblitz, in 1975.
Mr. Gatineau is fondly remembered by his sons; Joseph Gatineau and his wife Susie, with whom he made his home; Gary Koblitz and his wife Pam of Springfield, Va.; and Gerard Gatineau Jr. and his wife Sue of Putnam, Conn.
He was a cherished grandfather to Tammy Gatineau and her husband David Rothstein, Shawna Searles and her husband Roger, Joseph Gatineau Jr., Leslie Gilbert and her husband Jon, Karin Cournoyer and her husband Wayne, Kylan Koblitz, Neal Koblitz and his wife Jennifer, Jackie Murdock and her husband Kyle, and Kevin Koblitz. He was also great-grandfather to Ryan, Joshua, Savannah, Ashton, Emily, Adelyn, Evan, Carter and Sawyer.
Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery Association in Jensen Beach, Fla., where he will lie with his wife. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association in his honor, or to the American Cancer Society in memory of his wife, Elli.
Patrick Wayne Reed
Patrick Wayne Reed, 19, born March 14, 1991, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, in Golden Valley.
Patrick is survived by his mom, Cassi; dad, Guy; grandma, great aunts, great uncles, cousins and some of the best friends anyone could ask for.
Patrick was a strong, wonderful young man, but the devastating disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy wasted his body away until it could no longer survive.
Patrick is joined in death by his brother, Shane, and uncle, Joey, who also both had Duchenne.

Harold Wayne Hendricks
Harold Wayne Hendricks left us to be with Jesus Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010. He lost his battle with cancer, but it was a quiet, peaceful moment with Joyce, his beautiful wife of 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, and daughter, Brenda of Golden Valley; son, Bryan and his wife Terri Hendricks of Lebanon, Ore.; and eight grandkids, Joshua, Deanna and her husband Jon (felt blessed that God chose her birthday for this blessed event), Cindee and her husband Jason, Kimee and husband Kyle, Aaron, Sean, Ashley, and Cody; and seven great-grandkids, Isaak, Cyrrus, Joseph, Leah, Noelle, Kiera, Bailey; his nephew, Larry; brother-in-law, Bill Handley; his sister, Betty; and two brothers, Lester and Jim of Indiana, who even though they were so far away, he had many fun and loving memories that he often shared with his family.
Wayne was born to Archie and May Hendricks in Spencer, Ind., on Jan. 18, 1929. He was one of eight kids, seven boys, one girl.
Being raised during the Depression, he experienced things as a child that many of us would be heartbroken to hear, but he did not let that be an excuse, and he persevered in life. Laughter, teasing and joking were all part of his character. He made friends everywhere he went and never met a stranger, not even the furry or four-legged kind.
Anyone who knew Wayne knows how he was a survivor, a man of integrity with fortitude, and a strong faith.
Wayne and Joyce met in El Cajon, Calif., in 1949 while he was in the Navy, and were married a year later. After he left the Navy, he spent most of his working years driving a big rig for Ameron from which he retired.
Finding themselves ready for a change, they decided to move to Colorado. While living there, they were blessed to meet Jim and Dalene Eastham, who became like family. So, when it came to them moving to Arizona, in 1987, Jim and Dalene were not far behind, and they ended up living two houses down from them.
Once they were here, Wayne and Joyce joined Golden Valley Baptist Church which has continued to be a vital part of their spiritual growth. In the church, he was very active as a deacon, worked the sound booth on Sunday mornings and also taught Sunday school until sadly he was too ill to continue.
Wayne was quite talented, he sang, played guitar and mandolin, oil painted, built anything he put his mind to; he enjoyed photography and went to Africa in the '70s on safari.
As a boy, he whittled wood into tools, later he was building homes and became the handyman of Golden Valley. He could fix anything, but just don't ask him to program a remote or a VCR!
His passion and interest in trains was evident to anyone who knew him. He designed and built a model train room which showed another amazing talent.
So many people loved him and we appreciate the outpouring of love and friendship. He was able to recognize how many caring and supportive friends he truly had. It is a rare and fortunate experience that we will be forever grateful to have been a part of.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, at Golden Baptist Church, 100 S. Higley Road.
Dad, we weren't ready to lose you.

Charles Frederick Bott, 74, of Kingman died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, in Kingman. He was born Nov. 14, 1936, in Fresno, Calif.

Robert F. Leonard
Robert F. Leonard went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 4, 2010. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, Nov. 22, 1932.
He leaves behind his daughter, Lori (Don) Ruzek and their daughter, Haley, of Fort Mohave; his son, Frank (Nina) Leonard and their children, Tim and Katherine of Riverside, Calif.; his stepdaughters, Noel, Holly and Heather and their children who always held a special place in his heart; his sister, Anne (Harold) Hammer; nephew, Tom (Lori) Hammer; nieces, Cynthia (Jimmy) Romero and Becky (Dave) Horen; and many great-nieces and nephews; and "his best girl," Pearl.
He was blessed with many good friends throughout his life who will miss his smile and wit. He also touched the hearts of the staff at the Gardens Assisted Living and Desert Highlands. Thank you for all that you did for my Dad.
My Dad was a fun-loving guy who loved to draw, paint and make you laugh. He would give the shirt off his back. He loved living in the desert and bowling. His passion was for sweets, to say the least, especially McDonald's ice cream and a hot cup of coffee.
A celebration of his life will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, in Kingman.

Roy A. Spradling
Roy A. Spradling, 90, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at the Lingenfelter Center in Kingman. Roy was born May 23, 1920, in St. Johns, Mo., to Elmer and Barbara Spradling. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1937 at the age of 17. He served for seven years during WWII in the Office of Strategic Service overseas in Europe. The Navy was where he learned how to fight and for a short time was a professional boxer.
Roy and his family moved from Missouri to Long Beach, Calif., in the mid-1940s where he met his wife of 51 years, Agnes. He worked in heating and air-conditioning for over 40 years and retired to Bullhead City at the age of 70. Roy moved to Kingman with his daughter in 2003.
He loved to fight, fish and dance, maybe not in that order. He loved to laugh and make others laugh right along with him. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes A. Spradling, in 1998. He is survived by his children, Wayne Spradling and Deborah Beckerle; his daughter-in-law, Phyllis Spradling; his grandchildren, Michelle Van Damme, Paul Spradling, Eric Beckerle, Kevin Beckerle and Bryon Beckerle; and great-grandchildren, Amanda Van Damme, Sophie Beckerle, Austyne Beckerle, Savanna Beckerle and Grey Beckerle.
Roy's family would like to thank the Gardens and the Lingenfelter Centers where he spent the last two years of his life. He was treated with love and care, and we could not have asked for more. We love you and we are going to miss you Dad and Grandpa!
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the home of his daughter, Deborah Beckerle.

Shirley Holland, 73, of Kingman died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, in Kingman.
She was born March 29, 1937, in Memphis, Tenn.
