Betty Samarin, 78, of Chino Valley, born on February 25, 1924, died on April 30, 2002. Arrangements were made by Chino Valley Funeral Home.
John Allen (Jack) Morrow
Jack died Monday, May 6, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. He was born Sept. 12, 1932 in Prescott, the son of John and Minniemae Morrow. He was raised from youth to adulthood by Ott Morrow and Dorothy (Morrow) Warnock.
Jack graduated from Flagstaff High in 1951 where he lettered in football and basketball. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Korea and later graduated from the University of Arizona in Mechanical Engineering. He was a practicing engineer for 32 years in the field of Mining, Aerospace and Chemical engineering where his work was formally recognized through the awarding of patents involving inertial instrumentation. He was a Professional Engineer in the state of Washington.
Jack dedicated much of his spare time to serving in the community as a youth coach in Washington State. As a devoted Christian, Jack loved his church family at St. Catherine’s Laboure Church in Chino Valley where he served as an Eucharistic Minister to the homebound.
Jack was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Louise (Swann) Morrow and son Weston Allen Morrow. He is survived by his wife Helen; daughter Mary (Barich) Hendrickson and her husband George; sons, Larry Barich and his wife Konni, Wayne Morrow and his wife Janice, Vince Barich and his wife Karan, Warren Morrow and his wife Nancy, and Phillip Barich and his wife Joelyne. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, Karli, Bryce, Rustin, Daniel, Lucas, Michael, Katie, Sandra, Weston, Jesse Quinn, Lawrence and Jaci. All of whom loved him very much.
Arrangements entrusted to The Chino Valley Funeral Home (636-8225). There was an informal graveside service on May 10, with a memorial Mass on May 11 at St. Catherine’s Laboure Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jack’s favorite charities, St. Vincent De Paul of Chino Valley (St. Catherine Laboure Church) and Father Wasson, Friends of the Orphans, P.O. Box 25517, Tempe, AZ 85285-5507.
Dolores Mae Johnson
Dolores Mae Johnson, age 72, died peacefully at her home with all her family members present in Chino Valley on May 8, 2002. She was born on Feb. 5, 1930 in Calumet, Michigan to Homer and Stella (Eklund) Jones. After retiring from the VA Medical Center in 1992, Dolores traveled, gambled, gardened and attended her church of 30 years.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Warren Johnson; daughters, Paulette Kerns, Denise Peters, Brenda Rodarte, Carol Turner and her son, Randy Johnson. Also a brother Glenwood Jones and a sister Marie Reece; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of Chino Valley and Prescott.
A church service was held on May 13 at the Chino Valley Community Church, 1969 North Highway 89. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.

Billy Leon Kettner
Billy Leon (Butch, aka Bubba) Kettner died on May 25, 2002, at his home in Chino Valley. Butch was a native to the Prescott area.
He proudly served in the Navy and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Town of Chino Valley for 14 years.
Bubba is survived by his wife, Carlene; daughter, Misty and her husband Raymon Aguilar; sons, Burton and Robert Kettner of Phoenix; two granddaughters and three grandsons; his sister Bobby and her husband Darryl Hogan of Prescott, sister and brothers-in-law, Sandra Sventek, Ron and Donna Murphy, Paulette and Jim Hargraves and several nieces and nephews, along with many of his dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Henry, mother Ellen Estelle and brother Charlie Kettner.
A memorial service was held on June 2 at the Grace Baptist Church in Chino Valley. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be make to the YRMC Hospice.

Marjorie Lane, 89, of Paulden, born July 2, 1912, died Tuesday June 18, 2002. No visitation is scheduled. Memorial services are at 4 p.m. on June 26, at Chino Valley Funeral Home Chapel, 480 W. Palomino Rd., which also did the arrangements.
JoAnn Wells
JoAnn Wells passed away in her Chino Valley home on June 28, 2992, at the age of 77. JoAnn, one of the founders of High Desert Artists, Inc. and very instrumental in the development of artists in Northern Arizona, expressed herself in water color. JoAnn was a true friend, and loved by many.
A loving wife and mother JoAnn is survived by her husband Bill Wells of Chino Valley, son of Richard Wells of Clarkdale, daughter’s Sharon Wells and Margie DeCarlo of Chino Valley. JoAnn has three grandchildren.
A private family service will be hld July 7, followed by an open house memorial at the Wells’ residence, 24 S. Reed Rd., in Chino Valley at 12 p.m.

Albert H. Frederickson
Albert H. Frederickson, 96, passed away June 2, 2004 in Chino Valley.
Albert was born on November 1, 1907 in St. Louis Missouri to Martin and Kora Frederickson.
Albert was proud to have served his country in World War II.
He worked in the motion picture industry as the transport driver to RKO studios and later worked for Universal Studios.
After retiring from Universal Studios Albert and his wife moved to Chino Valley in 1978.
Albert is survived by his wife Katherine Frederickson, daughter Christine Adel Lindquist and husband Johnny, grandchildren Robert, Wayne, and Daniel Beauregard, and 4 great
grandchildren.
Albert was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his wife, family and friends.
A celebration of life service was held on June 7 at Chino Valley Funeral Home.
