Ronald Stultz
Ronald F. Stultz, 83, of Fountain Hills died March 15, at Paradise Valley Hospital.
Mr. Stultz was born Jan. 15, 1917 in West Union, Ohio. He was a retired U.S. Navy captain and a charter member of The Club in Fountain Hills.
Mr. Stultz is survived by a special friend, Suzy Ludlow, of Fountain Hills; two sons, Richard of Manhattan, Kan. and Ronald Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; one daughter, Sherrill Durham of Conway, Ark.; one brother, Richard Stultz of Ohio; two sisters, Ruth Osborne of Ohio and Maxine Murphy; and five grandchildren.
A memorial mass was held for Mr. Stultz on March 17 at the Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills. Interment is at West Union cemetery, West Union, Ohio.
The family is suggesting memorial contributions to the Church of the Ascension Building Fund, 12615 N. Fountain Hills Blvd., Fountain Hills, AZ 85268.
Peggy Jackson
A memorial service for Peggy Jackson will be held Sunday, April 16, at Fountain Hills Community Church, 15202 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.
The service will start at 4 p.m.
Mrs. Jackson died March 15, 2000 in Rockford, Ill. She was a former winter resident of Fountain Hills who attended Community Church.
She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Sunday School teacher, church choir member, president of Perry Dept. of the Rockford Women’s Club and was an active member of her Bible Study Fellowship.
Although a funeral service was held in Rockford, the family wanted to organize a memorial service in Fountain Hills as well.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Helping Hand Fund, c/o Sherry Gaertner, 6548 E. Sharon Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.
Bruce Richardson
Bruce Alan Richardson, 51, the son of Fredrick and Ruth Richardson of Fountain Hills, died April 3, 2000 in Santa Paula, Calif.
Mr. Richardson was born in Modesto, Calif.
He had been employed at various occupations.
Besides his parents, two brothers survive Mr. Richardson, Robert (Penny) of Montrose, Colo., and Brian (Helen) of Cross Plains, Wis.
A memorial service for Mr. Richardson was held Sunday, April 9, at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary.
Paul Bowen
Paul Bowen, 85 of Fountain Hills passed away March 25, 2000 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea.
Born Jan. 12, 1915 in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was a retired salesman for the Weatherhead Company and a World War II veteran.
Mr. Bowen was a member of The Club in Fountain Hills and the Nifty Niners.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie Kopacz Bowen, parents, Bert and Gertrude Bowen, brothers Clarence and Russell and sister, Mary Alice Helm.
He is survived by his sister, Wanda Lee Bowen, of Dayton, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at Greenlawn cemetery in Portsmouth, Ohio. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
Rose Aichast
Rose S. Aichast, 87, of Scottsdale, formerly of Fountain Hills, died Sept. 8, 2000 at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital.
Mrs. Aichast was born Dec. 28, 1912 in Chicago, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Aichast.
Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Szymkowski of Fountain Hills and Karen Myers of Scottsdale; son-in-law Donald Szymkowski of Fountain Hills; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Hedy Haszhotto of Reno, Nev.; and a brother, Peter Stich of Chicago, Ill.
Private services were held.
Ilse Lagies
Ilse A. Lagies, 91, of Fountain Hills died Sept. 13, 2000 at Vista Care Cottage in Gilbert.
Born Dec. 12, 1908 in Vienna, Austria, Mrs. Lagies had worked as a health care nurse during her career.
She leaves behind a daughter, Laura (Ray) Eareckson, of Fountain Hills.
Concetta Picciano
Concetta Picciano, 92, of Fountain Hills died Sept. 21, 2000 at the Ecstein Center in Scottsdale.
Born Dec. 9, 1907 in New York, N.Y., she worked as a seamstress in the garment industry. Mrs. Picciano was a member of Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills.
Survivors include her daughter, Dolores Monteleone of Fountain Hills; four grandchildren, Gene Monteleone of Scottsdale, Laura Squires of Scottsdale, Lisa Monteleone Hadsall of Fountain Hills and Peter Picciano of Fountain Hills; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sept. 24 at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, and a funeral mass was said Sept. 25 at Church of the Ascension.
Internment was at Green Acres cemetery in Scottsdale. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 711 E. Northern Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85020.
Doris Miller
Doris Miller, 83, of Grand Forks, N.D. died Jan. 26, 2001.
Doris Billadeau was born July 30, 1917, the daughter of Hector and Ava (Johnson) Billadeau. She grew up and attended school in Raub, N.D. and attended Parshall, N.D. High School.
She married Lyle P. Miller on July 30, 1936 in Tolley, N.D. They lived in Mohall, N.D., Cavalier, N.D., Roseau, Minn. and in Fountain Hills.
They owned and operated the Miller Café in Cavalier and she worked as a nurse at the Cavalier Hospital.
She is survived by her sons, Perry (Lois) Miller of North Bend, Wash. and Rick Miller of Glendale; daughter, Joanne (Chester) Yon of Fountain Hills; brother, Leon (Lorraine) Billadeau of Parshall; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, sister Thelma Johnson and brother Everell Billadeau.
Elaine Heath
Elaine D. Heath, a winter visitor to Fountain Hills, died Feb. 1, 2001 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea hospital.
Born May 12, 1933 in Grosse Pointe, Mich., Mrs. Heath was a resident of Ross Common, Mich. and was a retired elementary school teacher.
She was a member of the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Andreas; sons, Daniel (Deborah) of Phoenix, Greg (Carol) of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Brian (Becky) of Grand Rapids; brother, Irvin Deckert (Evelyn) of Clinton Township, Mich.; sister, Marion Tyler (Cyril) of Venice, Fla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Feb. 5 at Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Scleroderma Foundation, 2010 Corporate Ridge, 7th Flood, McLean, VA 22102.
Lee Jones II
Lee Jones II, 52, of Fountain Hills died Feb. 3, 2001 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea hospital.
Born Oct. 24, 1948 in Patuxent River, Md., he was a landscaping horticulturist. He loved the Lord and is now in the comfort of his Savior.
Survivors include his parents, Albert and Diana Jones of Fountain Hills; and brothers, Charles and Phil Jones of Fountain Hills and Donald Jones of Littleton, Colo.
Arlee Nunez
Arlee Komopa Nunez, 25, of the Fort McDowell Indian Community died Feb. 1, 2001 at Fort McDowell.
He was born March 27, 1975 in Phoenix. He joins his brother Gilbert Hood and sister Andrea Nunez in Heaven.
Survivors include his parents, Mona and Paul Nunez; brothers, Joseph Nunez, Erik Nunez, Matthew Nunez, Andrew Nunez and David Hood; sisters, Teresa Rodriguez, Veronica Guerrero and Daletha Haynes; and grandmother, Phyllis Jones.
Visitation was held Feb. 5 at the Nunez home, and a service was held Feb. 6 at the Fort McDowell Gymnasium.
Interment was at Fort McDowell cemetery.
Edward Jablonsky
Edward Jablonsky died on Feb. 4, 2001 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea. He was 78-years-old.
Mr. Jablonsky was born in Chicago, Ill. on Feb. 20, 2001 and was a self-employed painter during his career. He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by wife, LaVerne of Fountain Hills; sons Ronald of Kent, Wash., Bob of Fountain Hills and David of Fountain Hills; daughters Patricia Jablonsky of Gilbert and Linda Hinitt of Fountain Hills; sister Celia Zemla of Chicago, Ill and eight grandchildren.
The memorial service will be Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 4 p.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary located at 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd.
Paul E. Saunders
Paul E. Saunders, 77, of Fountain Hills dies Feb. 2, 2001 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea.
Born in Logan, Ohio on Dec. 2, 1923, Saunders was a home construction contractor. He served in World War II in the United States Army and was a member of VFW Post 7507 in Fountain Hills.
Mr. Saunders is survived by his wife Joyce of Fountain Hills; son Stephen Saunders of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; daughter Karen Connick of Fountain Hills; Sisters Alta Mae Hartsook, Mary J. Saunders; Dorothy Godrich; Roseanne Serio; Ivy Talbert; Ilah Clark and Carol Bales and three grandchildren.
The visitation was held Feb. 5 and the service was held Feb. 6, both at Messinger’s Mortuary. Interment was at Paradise Memorial Gardens in Scottsdale.

Jeff Smith
Jeff Smith, 44, of Fountain Hills died Feb. 5, 2001.
Born Dec. 21, 1956 in Patterson, N.J., he was employed at the Fort McDowell Casino.
Survivors include his mother, Edith, of New Port Richey, Fla.; brothers, Craig of Michigan and Kenneth of New Jersey; and sisters, Nancy Boyd of Millersville, Md. and Tricia Robicheau of Safety Harbor, Fla.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd.
Angela Hubert
Angela Hubert, 92, of Fountain Hills died March 21, 2001.
Born Dec. 20, 1908 in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a homemaker. Mrs. Hubert also was a member of Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Hubert (Ginny) of New York; daughter, Diane Martin (Bradford) of Fountain Hills; daughter-in-law, Agnes Hubert of New York; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Joseph and a son, Alfred.
Visitation was held March 22 at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary with a graveside service March 23 at Paradise Memorial Gardens in Scottsdale.
Jacob King
Jacob King, 61, of Fort McDowell died March 20, 2001 at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital.
Mr. King was born Feb. 2, 1940 in Fort McDowell and worked as a truck driver for the Fort McDowell Sand and Gravel Company.
He is survived by his mother, Lola King Dickson of Fort McDowell; son, Jeremy King of Tuba City; brothers David and Perry King, both of Fort McDowell; and sister Letitia Harry of Fort McDowell.
The visitation was held Friday, March 23, at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary. Services were Saturday, March 24, at the Fort McDowell Recreation Center and interment was at the Fort McDowell cemetery.
Robert Vogel
Robert “Bob” Vogel, 71, died March 21, 2001 at his Fountain Hills residence.
Mr. Vogel was born on July 23, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio.
He was the builder and owner of Arvee Development during his adult career and was a member of the Fountain Hills Sunset Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife, Rita M. Vogel, of Fountain Hills; sons Randy Vogel of Peoria and Ronald Vogel of Tempe; step-sons Michael Bengson of Scottsdale and Rick Bengson of San Diego, Calif.; daughters Cheryl Carity of Tempe and Laura Conaway of Chandler; step-daughter Vicki Cazier of Scottsdale; brother Donald Vogel of Kalispell, Mont.; and 11 grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Monday, March 26, at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary.
