Louise Ange Kozlow
Louise Ange Kozlow, M.D., 84, died Feb. 25, 1999 in Fountain Hills.
Born Sept. 23, 1914 in Rochester, N.Y., Dr. Kozlow was a retired OB-GYN physician from Michigan.
She was a graduate of Pennsylvania Medical College for Women and practiced at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and the Women’s Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Kozlow was a member of Pilot Club International, Fountain Hills Herb Society and was a volunteer for the Leukemia Society.
Survivors include two daughters, Marian G. Czajkowski and Eleanor V. McDonald; brother, Vincent Ange; sister, Grace Ange; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Bill "Wolf" Roberson
Bill "Wolf" Roberson, 65, a well-known artist who specialized in Native American art, died after a brief but brave battle with cancer on Feb. 23, 1999 in Fountain Hills.
Born Nov. 6, 1933 in Yale, Okla., Mr. Roberson worked as a sales manager for Baroid Oil Co. for 27 years in Europe, the Mideast and Africa before taking up art.
"Wolf" Roberson developed a unique process in which he did original oil paintings on feathers. His art work is displayed in many museums throughout the United States, including the Crazy Horse National Park in South Dakota.
He was a U.S. Army veteran from the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie K. Roberson of Fountain Hills; sons, Kelly Roberson of Tulsa, Okla., Richard Bonner-Davies of Detroit, Mich. And Tobias Bonner-Davies of London, England; daughters, Kim Romero of Albuquerque, N.M., Connie Ringgold of Cleveland, Okla., Vanessa Sinclair of Aberdeen, Scotland, and Bronwen Bonner-Davies of Los Angeles; brothers, Roger and Charles Roberson; and 16 grandchildren.
A painting by Mr. Roberson will be donated for the waiting room of Coral Quiet, M.D. The family suggests memorial contributions be given in the memory of Hamish and Lily to the A.S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 33334, Phoenix, AZ 85067.
A memorial service was held March 1 at the Roberson residence.

Nell Hayungs
Nell A. Hayungs, 64, of Fountain Hills died March 11, 1999.
Born Nov. 18, 1934 in Moberly, Mo., she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hayungs was a member of the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, a member of MENSA and was valedictorian of the class of 1954 at Moberly Jr. College in Moberly, Mo. She received her bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Kentucky in 1956.
Mrs. Hayungs was a very active member and leader of Presbyterian Women’s church groups in Overland Park, Kan.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Hayungs of Fountain Hills; son, Brian Carl Hayungs of Manhattan, Kan.; daughters, Joyce Lynn Moellinger of Wichita, Kan. and Linda Ann Huggins of Lansing, Kan.; brother, Charles Polson of Lynwood, Wash.; sister, Joanna Stoner of Moberly, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service is being held today, March 17, at 1 p.m. at Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, 13001 N. Fountain Hills Blvd. Interment will be at the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church Columbarium.

Eunice Rhoades
Eunice A. (McCracken) Rhoades died March 8, 1999.
She is survived by her husband, C.F. "Dusty" Rhoades, with whom she had resided in Fountain Hills for 13 years.
Services were held at the Camp Verde United Methodist Church on March 13. She was born in Camp Verde in 1933.

Scott Willson
Scott E. Willson, 73, died March 2, 1999 in Fountain Hills.
Born June 28, 1925 in Mason City, Iowa, Mr. Willson worked as a moving van lines operations director before retiring. He also was a retired major from the U.S. Air Force.
An active citizen here, Mr. Willson was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, The Club, Noon Kiwanis Club, Fountain Hills Historical Society and T.R.O.A. (Retired Air Force Officers).
Survivors include his wife, Mardelle Willson of Fountain Hills; sons, Scott E. Willson III of LaVerne, Calif. and Richard Kent Willson of Omaha, Neb.; daughters, Patricia Loland of Omaha, Lucinda Lyon of Lincoln, Neb. and Vickie Manzelli of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two step-children, Cynthia Henne of Phoenix and Rex Olson of Omaha; step-sister, Nellie Weldon of Iowa; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held March 5 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Fountain Hills.

Ferne E. Myers
Ferne E. Myers, 84, died Jan. 30, 1999 in Mesa.
Born July 31, 1914 in Owasco, N.Y., Ms. Myers taught elementary school for 40 years.
She taught at Lincoln School in New York to multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy children.
Ms. Myers is survived by one brother, Robert (Dorothy) Beacham of Elkhart, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Mary L. Beacham of Fountain Hills; a cousin, Harriet De Groff of Auburn, N.Y.; and a niece, Laura Meyocks of Payson.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 5, at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Boulevard.
Henry A. Drywa
Henry A. Drywa, 85, of Fountain Hills died Jan. 31, 1999 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea.
Mr. Drywa was born Nov. 23, 1913 in Serakowice, Poland. He was formerly employed as a foundry stone mason.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice of Fountain Hills; four sons, Daniel Bednark of Scottsdale, John and Greg Bednark both of St. Cloud, Minn. and Robert Bednark of Gresham, Ore.; four daughters, Gertruda Kryza of Poland, Karen Jones of Tulsa, Okla., Cheryle Andrea of Pierz, Minn. and Donna Young of Pierz, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Pierz, Minn.
In lieu of memorial contributions, the family asks those who knew Mr. Drywa to "Do a good deed for a friend, neighbor or stranger."
Leslie Earl Drentlaw
Leslie Earl Drentlaw, 93, of Northfield, Minn. and Fountain Hills, died Feb. 2, 1999 following a brief illness.
Mr. Drentlaw was born Feb. 16, 1905 to Albert W. and Hattie (Pritchard) Drentlaw on the family farm in Northfield Township.
He was raised on the farm and attended District 28 Country School near their home. Following school, he helped his parents and neighbors with farm work.
Mr. Drentlaw was involved with real estate for most of his working career.
Mr. Drentlaw had wintered in Fountain Hills for several years and attended The Fountains, a United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a son, David (and friend Kathy Smiddy); a brother, Hugh Drentlaw of Northfield; three sisters, May Drentlaw and Lucile Myers of Northfield and Laura Kidd of St. Paul; three grandsons, Bill, John and Drew Drentlaw; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude, in 1984 and five brothers, Walter, Clyde, Louis, Ruthford and Julius.
Services were Feb. 5 at United Methodist Church of Northfield, with the Revs. Clay Oglesbee and Holly Aastuen officiating.
Interment was at Oaklawn cemetery in Northfield.
Gaetana Polacco
Gaetana Polacco, 96, of Fountain Hills died Feb. 16, 1999 at Shadow Mountain Health Care Center.
Born Sept. 25, 1902 in Giovinazzo, Italy, Mrs. Polacco was a homemaker during her adult years. She also was the last surviving member of the Gold Star Mothers of Metuchen, New Jersey chapter, which was for mothers of sons who were killed during World War II.
Survivors include her son, Anthony N. Polacco, and his wife, Ruth, of Fountain Hills; three grandchildren, August, Thomas and Matthew Polacco; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held in New Jersey at a later date.
Olga Olsen
Olga Olsen, 90, of Fountain Hills died Feb. 16, 1999 at the Life Care Center of Scottsdale.
Born in Lier, Norway, Mrs. Olsen had worked as an inspector for Zenith Radio Manufacturing during World War II.
Survivors include her daughters, Doris McKay of Fountain Hills, and Nancy Kent of Why, Ariz.; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

DeWayne Nash
DeWayne Nash of Fountain Hills died Feb. 20, 1999 at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn.
Born June 13, 1925 in Flint, Mich., Mr. Nash worked in sales of automotive service equipment. He was a U.S. Army veteran from World War II.
Mr. Nash also was a charter member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fountain Hills and president of La Casa Cafetal Homeowners Association.
Survivors include his wife, Geri; sons, Martin (Beth) Nash, Ron (Lynne) Schulz and Randy (Debbie) Schulz, all of Michigan; brothers, Eldon, Edwin and Marvin; sisters, Beverly Schuch and Gloria George; and two grandchildren.

Beatrice McCleary
Beatrice E. McCleary, 87, of Fountain Hills died Feb. 19, 1999.
Born Sept. 28, 1911 in Fairmont, Minn., Mrs. McCleary was a homemaker.
Locally she was a member of the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, volunteered at St. Dominic's Food Bank and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include her sons, William McCleary of Minnetonka, Minn. and Thomas McCleary of St. Louis, Mo.; daughters, Patricia Van Der Vorste of Marshfield, Wis. and Julianne Roth of New Ulm, Minn.; twin sister, Berniece Lowe of Fairmont; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Robert Albert
Robert Henry Albert, 81, of Fountain Hills died Feb. 9, 1999 in Scottsdale.
Born March 18, 1917 in Billings, Mont., Mr. Albert was a retired ordnance man who worked with explosives.
Mr. Albert also was a retired captain from the United States Marine Corps (World War II) with 30 years of honorable service. He held life memberships with the U.S. Naval Institute and the Marines.
Mr. Albert was a member of the Benevolent Order of The Elks Lodge No. 335, Phoenix, and Lodge No. 616 in Honolulu, Hawaii; T.R.O.A. (The Retired Officers Association); and he was assistant editor of Asia Perspectives, a Journal of Archaeology publication from the University of Hawaii.
Survivors include his wife, Cathryn Barbara Albert, Fountain Hills; sons, Bruce Edward Albert, Seattle, Wash., and Robert Dudley Albert, Los Angeles; step-sons, William F. Trouts Jr., Mesa, and Robert E. Trouts Sr., Agoura Hills, Calif.; daughter, Kathleen Marie Albert Zabukovec, Seattle, Wash.; step-daughter, J. Nancy Trouts, Fountain Hills; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Maxine Nowak
Maxine Kirby Nowak, 80, of Fountain Hills died Feb. 9, 1999 at the Life Care Center of Scottsdale.
She was born April 16, 1918 in Wharton, Ohio.
Mrs. Nowak had worked as a sales person at the Princess Hotel.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel W. Nowak, Fountain Hills; son, Phillip N. Clark, Perrysburg, Ohio; daughter, Shirley Clark, Scottsdale; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Feb. 13 at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary.
John Smith
John W. Smith, 92, of the Fort McDowell Indian Community died Feb. 10, 1999 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea.
Born May 17, 1906 in Parker, Mr. Smith was a retired superintendent for the City Water Dept.
He also helped build the Fort McDowell Presbyterian Church Arbor.
Survivors include his sons, Vincent Smith, Fort McDowell, and Rev. Simon Looking Out, Rapid City, S.D.; daughters, Joan Enos, Fort McDowell, Leonardine Walker, Phoenix, Elizabeth Norris, Fort McDowell, and Barbara Charging, Fort McDowell; 15 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Visitation and services were held Feb. 15 at Fort McDowell Presbyterian Church and its Arbor.
