Margaret (Thomas) Buchholz
Margaret M. Buchholz, 87, passed
away Thursday, June 23, 2005 at
Ramsey Village. Margaret was a lifelong
resident of Des Moines, Iowa,
graduating from Lincoln High
School in 1936. Margaret Thomas
met Bill Buchholz in Des Moines
and they married just before he left
for duty in WW II.
Margaret and Bill loved to camp
and travel in the U.S.; after retirement
in 1979 they spent many fun-filled
winters in Apache Junction,
AZ.
Margaret was a founding member
of Covenant Presbyterian Church
in West Des Moines, worked 33
years for Northwestern Bell and
was a member of NW Bell Telephone
Pioneers.
She is survived by a son; James
(Robin) of Des Moines, daughter;
Janet (Art) Bagby of Grimes, sister;
Mary Ann (Ed) Jackman Des
Moines, sister-in-law; Trinky Thomas
of Windsor Heights, 6 grandchildren
and 4 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her
husband, William A. Buchholz in
1992. McLaren’s Funeral Chapel at
Resthaven in West Des Moines,
Iowa handled arrangements.
Elvin Henderson
Elvin “Shadow” Henderson, 64, of
Apache Junction passed away Friday,
June 17, 2005. Mr. Henderson,
a musician, was born in Eugene, Oregon.
He is preceded in death by
his mother Lonne. He is survived
by his wife Ann, daughter Laurie
Schaben, stepson Rich Kocher, father
Elmer, sisters Beverly
McCormick and Roxann
Henderson and brother Daniel
Henderson. A memorial service was
held at Jakes O’ Mine in Apache
Junction and a memorial ride will
follow at a later date. Apache Junction

passed away Thursday, June 2,
2005. Mrs. Upton, a bank teller, was
born in Sioux City, Iowa. She is survived
by her husband Howard,

Allen Upton, sisters Geraldine
Hamilton and Phyllis Guse, 4 grandchildren
and 4 great-grandchildren.

Joseph A. Varchetto, 86, of Apache
Junction, passed away Wednesday,
June 22, 2005. Mr. Varchetto, a legal
documents courier, was born in
Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived

brother Dominic, and 2 grandchildren.

Janice Marie Rentzel-O’Bier
Janice Marie Rentzel-O’Bier, 56, of
Apache Junction passed away on
Wednesday, March 1, 2006. Mrs.
O’Bier was a school teacher at Four
Peaks Elementary School for 16
years and was a substitute teacher
for Mesa Public Schools for 2
years. Janice held her BA in education
as well as a Masters in education.
Janice was born in Peru, Indiana
to Ralph and Lorraine
Rentzel. Janice is survived by her
loving husband Jim, parents Ralph
& Lorraine and brothers Ralph, Jr.
and Bruce. Funeral arrangements
were entrusted to Apache Junction
Mortuary. Services were held on
March 7, 2006 at St. Georges Catholic
Church.

Eisland, a farmer and logger, was
born in Lake Preston, South Dakota
and is survived by his wife of
73 years, Emma. He is also survived
by his daughters Arlene, Jean and
Shirley; sons Marvin, Robert, Kenneth,
Jerry, Vern, Rick and Larry;
sister Eunice; brother Keith; 29
grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren
and 9 great-great grandchildren.
