Gordon A. Senzek
Gordon A. Senzek of Kingman died Monday Jan. 24, 2000. He was 73.
Mr. Senzek was born July 8, 1926, in Menoken, N.D. and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served during World War II. He was a life member of the VFW and a member of American Legion Post No. 1 in Bismarck, N.D. He was a retired engineer with the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Mr. Senzek is survived by: his wife of 45 years, Laura A. Senzek of Kingman; two daughters, Lauren K. Schmidt, and Lynne M. Senzek of Tempe, Ariz.; one son, Eric G. Senzek of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and two brothers.
No church services were held. Cremation was handled by Flagstaff Mortuary.
Lucille Cabral
Lucille Cabral died Monday Feb. 7, 2000, in Kingman. She was 72.
Mrs. Cabral was born Sept. 12, 1927, in San Dimas, Calif. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Cabral is survived by: one daughter, Linda Kelly of Kingman; two sons, Russell McArthur of Kingman, and Ray Schile of Fontana, Calif.; two brothers, Alvie Claiborne of Redding, Calif., and Ernest Chaves of Kingman; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by: one son, Steven McArthur, in 1984.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday Feb., 11, 2000, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sutton. Pastor Dan Briles will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Charles W. Beck
Charles W. Beck, of Dolan Springs, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000 in Kingman. He was 87.
Mr. Beck was born March 6, 1914 in Greenwood Township, Penn. He moved to Dolan Springs 24 years ago from California. He worked at Magee Carpet Company and retired from General Motors. He was a member of Mt. Tipton Community Church in Dolan Springs.
Mr. Beck is survived by: son Charles E. Back of Plano, Texas; daughter Carol A. Honaberger of Bridgton, Maine; two sisters, Melba Hyde and Ada Gingher of Media, Penn.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Leah A. Beck.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 20 at Mt. Tipton Community Church.
Harold L. Prescott
Harold L. Prescott, formerly of Kingman, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000 in Lapeer, Mich. He was 78.
Mr. Prescott was born Sept. 3, 1921 in Utica, N.Y. He graduated from the Clarkston College of Technology in Potsdam, N.Y., in October of 1949 with a mechanical engineering degree. He worked for the Ford Motor Company for 32 years, retiring in May, 1980. During his career at Ford, Mr. Prescott held various positions including management at the Romeo proving grounds, the Dearborn proving grounds, both heavy and light truck division, the Australian test track, and, most recently, as the general manager of Arizona Ford Proving Grounds. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, completing 36 missions as a B-17 bomber pilot. Before his honorable discharge in 1944, Mr. Prescott attained the rank of First Lieutenant. He piloted one of the first B-17 bombers over Germany from France and was honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lapeer. He was also a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, the Rotary Club, the Elks Club and the Chamber of Commerce and Kingsmen in Kingman.
Mr. Prescott is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Eileen Prescott of Lapeer, Mich.; daughters Suellen Hoganson of Lapeer, Mich., Mary Beth Schaffstall of Sterling Heights, Mich.; sister Margaret Corcoran of Syracuse, N.Y.; brother Lloyd Richard Prescott of Meridian, Miss.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: brother Delman Prescott; and parents Leodore and Mabel Agnes (Ashley) Prescott.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2000. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2000 at Immaculate Conception Church in Lapeer. Burial will be at Hunters Creek Cemetery.
Mattie Faye Gilbert
Mattie Faye Gilbert died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in Kingman. She was 78.
Mrs. Gilbert was born March 27, 1921 in Parker County, Texas. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Gilbert is survived by: one daughter Joyce Wills of Clovis, Calif.; one son Victor Gilbert of Kingman; two sisters, Leta Kates of Harrisonville, Mo., and Cordell Teal of Roswell, N.M., four brothers, Clifton, J.M. and Junior McDonald, all of Parker County, Texas, and Liness McDonald of Harrisonville, Mo.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory.
Clarence E. Baril
Clarence E. Baril died Saturday Feb. 5, 2000, in Kingman. He was 79.
Mr. Baril was born June 24, 1920, in Andover, S.D., and was owner of Baril's Auto Service Center in Lake Havasu City from 1973 to 1983. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kingman and served in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant during World War II.
Mr. Baril is survived by: five daughters, Catherine Schumacher of Calnevari, Nev., Celeste Baril of Sao Palo, Brazil, Theresa Rische of Barrington, Ill., Mary Morgan of Lake Havasu City, and Anne Grochocki, also of Lake Havasu City; five sons, Gregory Baril of Lake Havasu City, Charles Baril of San Ramon, Calif., Mark Baril of Tucson, John Baril of Lake Havasu City, and Matthew Baril of Glendale, Calif.; four sisters, Flora Schwantz and Rossela Willert of Illinois, and Marcella Priebe and Gladys Hamilton of Phoenix; two brothers, Nels Baril of Phoenix, and Clifford Baril of Kingman; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 8, 2000, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, with Rosary at 6 p.m., also on Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 9, 2000, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, located at 317 Spring St. Father James Alling will officiate.
Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Elsie Louise Smith
Elise Louise Smith of Meadview died Wednesday Feb. 2, 2000, in Kingman. She was 81.
Mrs. Smith was born Feb. 19, 1918, in Brownell, Kan., and was a commercial loan officer in California for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1981. She came to Meaview in 1992 from Canyon Country, Calif.
Mrs. Smith is survived by: two sons, Berb Berschauer of Lae Alamor, Calif., and Bert Berschauer of Kingman; two daughters, Karen Beem of Navarre, Kan., and Phyllis Jenkins of San Jose, Calif.; one brother, Thomas Weeks of Russell, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; three stepchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 5, 2000, at Meadview Community Church. The family suggests memorial donations to Meadview Community Church, Meadview, Ariz.
Edward Dixon
Father Edward Dixon died Sunday Jan. 30, 2000 in Phoenix. He was 67.
Fr. Dixon was born on April 18, 1932 in Reading, Penn. He was a priest at St. Theresa's Church in Kingman.
He is survived by: his wife, Jeannett (Herrera) Dixon; two daughters, Angelic Feher and Fawnda Falance, both of Kingman; one son, Duane Dixon of Kingman; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday Feb. 4, 2000, at Sutton Memorial Home. Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday Feb. 8, 2000, at St. Theresa's. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematory. Donations may be made to the St. Theresa's Church Dixon Memorial Fund, 2029 Club, Kingman, Ariz., 86401.
Charles "Bud" Manning
Charles "Bud" Manning died on Tuesday Jan. 25, 2000 in Phoenix. He was 79.
MR. Manning was born on July 6, 1920 in East St. Louis, Ill. He came to Kingman eight years ago from California. He worked for Nevada Power Co. as chief electrician in Las Vegas, Nev.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a radioman/gunner on a B-24. He was stationed in England and flew 30 missions.
Mr. Manning is survived by: his wife, Mary (Sears) Manning of Kingman; two sisters, Loretta Pick of Centralia, Ill., and Dolores De Falco of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Harry Manning of Yuma, and Leo Manning of Livermore, Calif. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Harry Manning and Edna Herron; and two sisters, Mae Drab and Hariett Pick.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at VFW Post No. 3516, 2826 Wickieup.
Paul Adam Crawford
Paul Adam Crawford of New Mexico, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000 in Canyon, Texas. He was 68.
Mr. Crawford was born on Aug. 12, 1931 in Roswell, N.M.
Mr. Crawford grew up in Las Cruces, N.M., where he attended Las Cruces public schools and was a member of the First Assembly of God church. He served in the U.S. Army between 1951 and 1953.
Mr. Crawford resided for a time in Deming, N.M., where he worked for the New Mexico State Highway Department. He transferred to Hatch, N.M., where he retired in 1992 after 25 years of service. In Hatch he met and married his wife, Betty.
Mr. Crawford is survived by: one brother, Ralph Crawford of Kingman; and two sisters, Patricia Worley of Melissa, Texas, and Marty Smith of Canyon, Texas. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Alvin and Elsie Tabor Crawford; one brother, Carroll Crawford of Kingman; and one sister, Joyce Corral.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Feb. 5, 2000 at the cemetery in Hatch, N.M.
Dorothy Nugent
Dorothy Nugent died Dec. 20, 1999, in Kingman. She was 71.
Mrs. Nugent was born Nov. 26, 1928, in Tulia, Texas, and came to Kingman 30 years ago from California. She lived in Kingman, off and on, for the last 30 years. She was a cook, waitress and homemaker.
Mrs. Nugent is survived by: son Eddie White of Utah; two daughters, Dana Brock of Kingman and Sharon Davis of Grand Junction, Colo.; five brothers; five sisters; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 5, 2000, at American Legion Post No. 14, located at 225 Oak St.
Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
Karla Patricia Quintana
Karla Patricia Quintana died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, in Kingman. She was 21.
Mrs. Quintana was born on July 3, 1978 in Mexico. She worked as a receiving clerk for American Woodmark.
Mrs. Quintana is survived by: husband Francisco Javier Quintana; parents Humberto and Maria Dolores Adame; sister Brendha Adame of Kingman; brother Carlos Adame of Kingman; and three grandparents, Jesus Adame, Francisca Adame and Ansel Salaza.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, Feb. 1, 200, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home; a rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000 at the same location. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
Edna Frances Bryant
Edna Frances Bryant died Monday Jan. 31, 2000, in Kingman. She was 79.
Mrs. Bryant was born Oct. 6, 1920 in Santa Ana, Calif. She worked in the health care profession as a nurse's aide.
Mrs. Bryant is survived by: her husband, Ira Bryant of Kingman; two daughters, Mikel R. Davis of Kingman and Pixie Vincent of Jamestown, N.Y.; one son, Ben Bryant of Buckeye; one sister, Ada M. Lyons of Poway, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
No services are planned for Mrs. Bryant. Sutton Crematory is handling cremation.
Hazel Muriel Johnson
Hazel Muriel Johnson died Tuesday June 29, 1999 in Kingman. She was 83.
Mrs. Johnson was born Sept. 7, 1915 in Macomb, Okla. She worked in civil service for the post office as a clerk and as postmaster's secretary in Washington.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by: one daughter, Eleanor Muriel Bishop of Kingman; one step-daughter, Judy Wagner of Great Falls, Mont.; one son, Jim R. Stancil of Lake Havasu City; one sister, Lila Winters of Harrah, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday July 3, 1999, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Cremation will be handled by Sutton Crematroy

Marie Schultz
Marie Schultz, a part-time Dolan Springs resident, died Saturday June 26 1999 in White Bear, Minn. She was 84.
Mrs. Schultz was born Oct. 22, 1916. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, No. 88 and of Our Lady of the Desert Catholic Church in Dolan Springs. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9833.
Mrs. Schultz is survived by: one sister, Gerry De Yaeger of Dolan Springs; two sons, Kenneth Schultz of Minnesota, and Wallace Schultz of Las Vegas; four daughters, Donna Carlson, Jeanne Hunt, and Shirley Arcard, all of Minnesota, and Mary Jane Furlong of California; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in White Bear Lake, Minn.

Glenn H. Johnson died Friday, June 25, 1999. Barry Clampett was among his survivors.
John Gerald Billingsley
John Gerald "Jerry" Billingsley died Sunday June 27, 1999. He was 66.
Mr. Billingsley was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Duncan, Ariz. He was a plumber by trade and worked throughout Arizona during his career. He and his wife, Carol, co-owned Billingsley Plumbing in Kingman for more than 15 years.
He also served in the Arizona National Guard and the U.S. Air Force, was a former member of the Kingman Public Utilities Commission and served on planning and building committees of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Kingman Country Club, among others.
Mr. Billingsley is survived by: his wife of 20 years, Carol; four sons, Charles, Daniel, Michael and Joseph Billingsley; three daughters, Dorothy Peterson, Karen Walsh and Lynda French; three stepchildren, Kari Jo Hill, David Williamson and Diane Carochi; three brothers, Frank, Phil and Marvin Billingsley; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: one son, John Paul Billingsley; his mother, Joyce Elaine Clay; and his father, Roy Billingsley.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday June30, 1999, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, 1999, and will be preceded by a viewing, which will start at 9 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2101 Harrison St., Kingman, Ariz. 86401.
Willa G. Rawlings
Willa G. Rawlings, a former Kingman resident, died June 24, 1999 in Snowflake. She was 90.
Mrs. Rawlings was born July 7, 1908 in Clarkton, Mo. In 1928, she moved to Flint, Mich., where she worked as a switchboard operator. In Michigan, she met and married Ira Rawlings. The family, with young son Jerry, moved to Phoenix in 1921 where they became involved in Harry L. Nace Theatres. They were transferred to Kingman in 1937 where they make their home.
The Rawlings' built the original theatre in Show Low and the Wagon wheel Drive-in theatre. Together they retired in 1991. After 69 years of marriage, husband Ira died in 1997.
Mrs. Rawlings is survived by: one son, Jerry Rawlings of Mesa; one sister, Margaret Atkerson of Phoenix; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held today - Tuesday June 29, 1999 - at Owens Mortuary on Show Low. Burial will be at 4 p.m., Wednesday June 30, 1999, in Kingman. The family asks that memorial donations be made to a local cancer society or to the historical museum in Kingman.
