Pegg

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas -- Erman D. Pegg, 75, of Mount Pleasant died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mount Pleasant.

He was born in Oil Trough.

Survivors include his wife, Viva Dee Wiggins Pegg; a son, Mickey Pegg of Mount Pleasant; three daughters, Shelia Duncan of Millery, Ala., Karen Yates of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Ellen Taylor of Texarkana, Texas; a brother, Charlie Pegg of Texarkana, Texas; two sisters, Juanita Wattwood and Lucille Thompson, both of Texarkana, Texas; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in McCrory. Burial will follow in Fakes Chapel Cemetery at McCrory.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Phillips

Wanell Phillips, 75, of Jonesboro, formerly of Osceola, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

She worked as a switchboard operator at American Greetings for seven years and was owner/operator of Le Gals Dress Shop in West Memphis for five years. She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Barry Phillips of Jonesboro; and three grandchildren, Alicia Lynn Phillips, Barry Brent Phillips and Hunter Ross Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gertrude Girdley Bell, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Swift Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens at Osceola.

Active pallbearers will be Lanny Bell, Gary Bell, Brent Phillips, Hunter Phillips, Bob Merideth and Sonny Hart.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Children's Home, 5515 Old Walcott Road, Paragould 72450-9983.

Skinner

BROOKLAND -- Walter A. Skinner, 77, of Brookland died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Swope

MAMMOTH SPRING -- Audrey Swope, 85, of Mammoth Spring died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003 in Las Cruces, N.M.

An educator, she taught for the Mammoth Spring School District from 1944-1976. She was also a writer, having published her first book in 1988.

She established the Audrey Swope Creative Writing Scholarship in Arkansas and was a member of the 20th Century Club and of the Methodist Church in Mammoth Spring.

Survivors include two brothers, Thomas Andrew Collins Jr. of Pocahontas and Doyle Collins of Salem; and one sister, Beulah Rhoades of Rogersville, Mo.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Mo., with the Rev. Terry Sager officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include Jim Collins, Brian Davis, Steve Collins, Chris Collins, Lehman Hall and Bob Rhoades.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Taylor

BRADFORD -- Juanita Lawson Taylor, 85, of Bradford died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003.

Born in Diaz, she was a member of Bradford Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

Survivors include one son, Troy U.W. Taylor of Memphis; one daughter, Barbara Sue Lasley of Heber Springs; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Taylor, and one son, Bobby C. Taylor.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dillinger Funeral Home in Newport, with Llano Robinson and Ernest Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Watson Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Bobby Gates, Jason Gates, Gil Bobo, Howard Davis, Bobby Davis and Ed Canard.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wheeler

Ida Wheeler, 96, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 at Regional Medical Center of NEA.

Born in Greene County, she was a retired nurse's aide, a homemaker and a member of Mountain Home Church of Christ near Paragould.

Survivors include three daughters, Mavis Holmes of Jonesboro, Mary Fowler of Pine Bluff and Jackie Golden of Bono; a son, Billy Wheeler of Paragould; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Clennie Wheeler; two daughters, Mildred Pearson and Betty Jo Wheeler; four brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Langford's Funeral Service, with Kenneth Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Home Cemetery near Center Hill.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

White

PARAGOULD -- Tina Lynn White, 27, of Paragould died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 near Fredericktown, Mo.

Survivors include her parents, Kathryn Mulkey of Pocahontas and Charles White of Delaplaine; one brother, Michael White of Delaplaine; four sisters, Tracy Nelson and Jill Lynxwiler, both of Jonesboro, and Amanda White and Shawna White, both of Delaplaine; and a grandmother, Rethia Bristol of Walnut Ridge.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Cox-Waymon Funeral Home in Pocahontas. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Williams

Shirley Jo Williams, 68, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro

Ball

WILLIFORD -- Funeral services for Mark F. Ball, 75, of Williford, who died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004 at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health Systems in Cherokee Village, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel.

C.C. Baird will officiate and burial will follow in Wiles Cemetery at Ash Flat.

Born in Hickory Ridge, he enlisted in the Navy in 1944 at the age of 15. He fought in the South Pacific receiving a number of medals, including the Liberation of the Philippines.

He moved to Detroit in 1953 where he served as a police officer for seven years. He later moved to Kenosha, Wis., where he worked as a mechanic at the Ford garage and was a business agent for United Auto Workers Local 173. He later opened his own business until his retirement, when he moved to Williford.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Ball of the home; two daughters, Jackie Markena Lanska of West Bend, Wis., and Sonja I. Koble of Hawaii; two sons, Jerry A. Ball and Mark D. Ball, both of Kenosha; one brother, John R. Ball of Milwaukee; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
